twosie tuesday.

by Janetha on March 19, 2013

in dogs,meals,moves,random rambles

hi! it’s tuesday night and i am home all alone. well, not all alone. the pups are here. marshall is at a concert. that means two things:

1. cereal and a protein shake for dinner.

2. i am doing some baking. i am making these!

how about a few more lists of two? (or more than a few…)

two things i drank today.

1. a kcup of this delicious hawaiian blend coffee we found at costco. shhh.. don’t tell me i am not supposed to drink coffee.

IMG_6241

2. husband juice. errm.. juice that my husband made for me. it was kale-apple-raspberry-orange-hemp seed with a little blue machine for liquifying purposes. yum.

IMG 6276

two types of pull-ups from today’s workout.

1. chin-ups.

2. hanging aussies. <—i absolutely loathe those.

here’s WHY we do two different types of pull-ups (from neil at GPP:

Pulling from a high anchor (as in a chinup) will develop mainly the muscles of the front of the arm, rear delt and lower torso (latissimus dorsi). Pulling through the middle of the range (as in Aussies, or bent rows) will further develop the arms and shoulders while adding the musculature of the inner scapulae.

and here is a video i filmed awhile back about how to progress to a chin up:

two things i ate today.

1. pretzel thins + sunbutter. thank you, trader joe’s, for supplying such a delicious snack.

IMG_6244 (2)

2. avocado toast and hard boiled eggs (all topped with salt, pepper, and garlic cholula.) never gets old! ever!

IMG_6247

two things i spent money on today.

1. eyelashes! some of you asked how much it was. fifty four bucks. apparently that’s a steal of a deal for eyelashes?? and it only took 45 minutes. utah locals: i went to ida at ivy nails in north salt lake.

before/after

Screen Shot 2013 03 19 at 9 17 56 PMScreen Shot 2013 03 19 at 9 16 19 PM

i love!

2. bills! not so fun.. but a part of life. paid the sewer bill and a medical bill.

two things on my to-do list.

1. TAXES. omg, guys, please tell me i am not the only one who puts them off to the very last second?

2. plan my bestie’s bachelorette party! i have been scouring websites for fun ideas. this is the first wedding i’ve been in and i’m excited about it! any memorable bachelorette games you’d like to mention? i am all ears. or eyes?

two recipes i want to make.

1. ANGEL FOOD CAKE FRENCH TOAST. jessica rocks my world with her recipes.

image

2. spaghetti squash with asparagus, ricotta, lemon, & thyme. it looks so fresh and spring-y! and, ya know, tomorrow is the first day of spring!

image

two new things i have tried lately.

1. twix eggs.

IMG_6206

i need to get this candy thing under control… maybe after easter. i love twix. when i found out they came in easter egg form, i had to try! 150 calories of crunchy, chocolaty, caramel goodness.

2. the good bean.

IMG 6289

the company sent me a sampler pack of their roasted chickpeas and fruit & no-nut bars. i tried these salt & pepper chickpeas today and l-o-v-e-d them. can’t wait to try the other flavors and the bars. i will be reviewing them and hosting a giveaway soon!

two things i am lusting after.

1. a new fridge. soooo.. our fridge can kick rocks. it seriously sucks and i have wanted a new one since we moved in nearly three years ago. i have been researching fridges for a couple of weeks and, as it turns out, the space we have for a new fridge isn’t tall enough for the fridge that i want (i want a french door fridge.) so either i have to hire a carpenter to cut the cupboard above to accommodate a taller fridge, or i have to settle for a different style.

not sure what i am going to do yet… what would you do?

2. another swiftly tech long sleeve. seriously, they are soooo comfy. i should never have bought one, because now i want eleven.

RUN:Swiftly Tech LS

two dogs i am in love with.

1. penny.

IMG 6287

2. randy.

IMG 6278

but you all already knew that.

two things i’m doing this weekend.

yes.. it’s only tuesday.. yes.. i am already thinking about the weekend!

1. going to the salt lake tattoo convention. my friends will be working at it and i also plan to snag a few new pair of earrings from peach treats.

slctattoo-2012-poster

2. going to see anjelah johnson.ahhh.. she is SO funny. can’t wait!

two things that made me laugh.

1. this text from this post:

Great, now Mom thinks you're a jerk.

2. this.

image

two giveaway winners.

1. onnit kettlebell winner: Bonnie

2. renew life $75 gift card winner: Laura (LunaChickRuns)

remember, you can still cash in on the 10% onnit supplement discount. just use the code MEALSANDMOVES at checkout on onnit.com!

two questions for you.

1. what was the last thing you spent money on?

2. what are two things you ate today?

xo. janetha g.

kendra @ kennygump March 19, 2013 at 8:45 pm

wow. your eyelashes look fantastic!
last thing i spent $ on. happy meals to make happy kids last weekend.
i enjoyed every last bite of some strawberry cheesecake and dove chocolate:)

Carly March 19, 2013 at 8:56 pm

Your lashes look awesome! And that is a steal for them.

I also haven’t done my taxes yet….thanks for the reminder.

Last thing I spent money on was a wicked north face jacket on a crazy deal at winners. Made my day.

Addy @ Six-Kick Switch March 19, 2013 at 9:14 pm

OMG, your post made me laugh! I want one of whatever you’re eating! And one of those Swifty tees to go!

And yes, I am a total procrastinator on my Taxes. With a capital ‘T’. They’re on my list too, girl :(

Kerryne March 19, 2013 at 9:54 pm

Momma B is hands down the CUTEST. Love her. That made me LOL! And your lashes look amazing. Do you love them?

Janetha March 19, 2013 at 10:02 pm

Haha that wasn’t my mom.. it was from a funny text website ;) YES I LOVE THEM! Glad you talked me into it.. or at least batted your eyes at me so I wanted them hehe. Love you!

Kristina March 19, 2013 at 9:58 pm

Your eyelashes look incredible! I have major lash envy right now.

We finally shelled out $$$ for a Roomba. The pooch sheds like crazy in the heat, so I just decided it was worth it for me to not have to follow him around with a vacuum all summer :)

April March 19, 2013 at 10:05 pm

Have you tried the Snickers Peanut Butter Squared? I grabbed some fun sized ones for Easter treats and have been a large part of my diet the last few days. I am convinced that anything holiday themed just tastes better and so, of course, I must buy it all. M&Ms are my weakness.

Those eyelashes are awesome, by the way.

Janetha March 19, 2013 at 10:09 pm

Thanks! And no.. I haven’t.. but now I believe I need to :)

Laura March 19, 2013 at 10:12 pm

Your eyelashes look awesome!

Last thing I spent money on – a haircut and conditioner.

Two things I ate today – Peach Chobani, a Choc Coconut Brownie Protein Bar.

Sara @ Nourish and Flourish March 19, 2013 at 10:41 pm

LOVE the new eyelash look!

I’m lusting big time over that Twix egg. What is it about Easter candy, in particular, that’s so hard to resist? For some reason, I go crazy on all things chocolate this time of year–more so than Halloween and Christmas! I’ve eaten my way through two bags of Reece’s mini eggs since they hit the stores. Hellllppp.

Bonnie March 19, 2013 at 11:18 pm

Love this post! Fun to read. And the lashes look AMAZING! I’ve been wanting to give them a shot! Love to hear an update after showers and sleeping and waking and workouts and whatnot.

Also I CANNOT BELIEVE I WON! …thanks for your generosity!

Lastly, I love you – but not because I won. Just because I love who you are! SEE YOU AT BLEND (lots of excitement in this comment here). :)

elaine c. March 19, 2013 at 11:55 pm

1) groceries for dinner. made turkey meatloaf and a salad!
2) i guess #1 covers #2 :)

i love your eyelashes, they look great! been thinking about getting them, but i think they’d look silly on me!

RainStorm March 20, 2013 at 12:21 am

I want!!!
I want the lashes, the recipes, those chick pea snack things, your lovely dogs and the thecnical tips with the thumb holes (don’t have a thumb hole top yet).
Last thing I spent money on: ballet class last night. Or snack to eat after my class.
It’s Wed here, but two things I ate yesterday: mushroom-filled pasta and egg mayo sandwiches. Not very exciting.

Jan @ Sprouts n Squats March 20, 2013 at 2:42 am

Wow your eyelashes look great!

Loving the cat gif of the carb free diet :)

Also those twix eggs look delicious, I wonder if they have them here in Australia?

Nicole March 20, 2013 at 2:46 am

Always love your twosie tuesday posts! :)
Oooooh have fun @ the SLC tattoo convention.
My tattoo artist is going to be there!! So now I’m
jealous of both of you >.< I'd love to be there so
much and can't wait to see her in Sept. for more
work on my back. ;)

Trisha March 20, 2013 at 3:22 am

There are TWIX EGGS!! I LOVE twix! My fave as a kid! Always had a box in the pantry growing up!

I would cut the cupboard , because if I wasn’t able to get what I wanted in a fridge it’d drive me nuts. I’m too short to use the cabinet over fridge angel way.

About to eat egg whites and oats w some nuttzo ( okay that’s 3)

katie March 20, 2013 at 3:51 am

The Twix egg just blew me away! NEED! Oh I would love those!!

The eyelashes look fabulous! I always wanted to do that, but wasn’t sure how long they would last! Let us know!

Happy Wednesday! I love you! Miss you! Wish I was seeing you at Blend :p

Deb March 20, 2013 at 4:18 am

Your lashes look awesome! I have to try it! How long do they last?

Sara March 20, 2013 at 4:30 am

Your lashes look fantastic! Bat those beauties!

I’m new to the eyelash thing and hope you don’t mind me asking: you asked for extensions, correct? Not fake eyelashes, right? What is the difference? Thanks!

Angela Yates March 20, 2013 at 4:36 am

Love your eyelashes! Look very real! Are they individual extensions over each lash? Please let us know how long they last. I tried a place and thought they looked fake and lasted only 3 days!

Sam @ Better With Sprinkles March 20, 2013 at 4:50 am

your eyelashes look awesome! Such a huge difference. $54 doesn’t seem like it’s too expensive, which is even better.

MizFit March 20, 2013 at 5:02 am

ok
how do I ADORE HE MAKES YOU JUICE!!!

tell him to call my husband :-)

Michelle @ Eat Move Balance March 20, 2013 at 5:30 am

The eyelashes are beautiful!! Report back to let us know how long they last! :)

Jessica March 20, 2013 at 5:37 am

1)a new washing machine because ours took a crap :( I could spend $600 on something much more fun.
2) pizza and salad, the best dinner ever.
I would hire someone to cut the cupboard. A fridge should last forever, you dont want to settle for a different one and regret it for that long.
LOVE your new eyelashes!

Tracey March 20, 2013 at 5:51 am

You have such pretty blue eyes! BTW: How long do the extensions last? Do you have to be careful when showering etc? Would love to know more!

Erica March 20, 2013 at 6:01 am

Your arms are amazing!! Hotness. Love the video. Um so with you on the low carb/carb free diets- are you kidding me? The eyelashes look amazing! I want some!!

1. what was the last thing you spent money on? Starbucks ;)

2. what are two things you ate today? Its early…I’ve sadly only had coffee

Melissa March 20, 2013 at 6:01 am

your lashes look great! I had them before, but they damaged my real ones (they started breaking) so I had to stop :-( That was a few years back, it was probably the techique the spa i went to used, I am sure that’s not normal.

LOL, I know Laura, the winner of one of your contests! Small world! We are both LUNA in different states

Melissa March 20, 2013 at 6:03 am

well I thought I knew her, maybe it’s a different LUNA laura!

Susana March 20, 2013 at 6:25 am

Hi Janetha –

The best bachelorette party game I’ve participated in was called Name the Celebrity Couple. The MOH took pictures of celebrity couples and photoshopped pictures of the bride and groom on to them. It was absolutely hilarious and the most creative game I’ve seen. The funniest couple: Ellen and Portia Di Rossi….almost no one got that one right!

Susana

Anne @ eatcleaneatreal March 20, 2013 at 6:34 am

Eggs and avocado NEVER get old. EVER.

Maren March 20, 2013 at 6:35 am

Since my bachelorette party was the first one I’ve ever been to, I don’t have much to go off of. But we did this scavenger hunt that was super fun! There were a bunch of different things I had to do when we were out. For instance, I had to take a pic of me and a guy in the men’s restroom (awkward when you’re sober). And I had to kiss a bald guy’s head! It was so awkward but so much fun! There were others. I can probably find the list of things if you want it!! Oh, and what websites are you getting? I’m planning one in June and trying to get some ideas!!

p.s. your lashes are legit!! Absolutely gorgeous and worth the money!

Maren March 20, 2013 at 6:44 am

p.s.s. those fridges are the bomb diggity and you should definitely make room for one.

Tamara March 20, 2013 at 6:44 am

1. The last thing I spent $ on was gas for the car (well, actually, it was for decaf coffee inside after I had filled the tank).
2. I had the aforementioned decaf coffee and am about to eat nectarine overnight oats (http://wildbluewonder.wordpress.com/2012/08/08/sweet-nectarine-oats/)

Question: how long are the lashes supposed to last? They look AWEsome and I am suddenly coveting some of my very own!

Comment: The Good Bean rocks! I love the cracked pepper snacks and the Apricot Coconut (with white chocolate) bars are also delish!

Katie March 20, 2013 at 6:56 am

Yup, those Aussie pull-ups KILLED me yesterday. Just killed.

Your eyelashes look amazing…how long do they stay on?

betty March 20, 2013 at 6:57 am

1. doctors bills :( what a waste of money. hah

2. i’ve only had breakfast today, so eggs + spicy sausage + hot sauce. yum.

3. I LOVE YOUR LASHES! no question about it now, i’m getting some!

Linz @ Itz Linz March 20, 2013 at 7:31 am

husband juice? LOL!!!! omg your eyelashes look AMAZING!!!!!!!!! i’m drinking coffee right now and i just woke up. ok fine maybe i snuck one little morsel of dark chocolate this morning because it was leftover from last night :)

Meg March 20, 2013 at 7:37 am

I just bought a house and needed to replace all of the appliances and I had the same issue with the fridge. I didn’t want to cut into the cabinets AND I wanted a french door fridge (with ice/water maker – duh!) so after a lot of searching, I went with the Kenmore Elite series (from Sears.) They make a slightly smaller/shorter fridge. I have to say… I regret not cutting the cabinet to fit a larger fridge because now the fridge is just a little bit too small and doesn’t hold quite enough. It’s a great fridge, just small. Good luck!

Errign March 20, 2013 at 7:55 am

1. 200$ worth of biking clothes from pearl izumi and new skis for Darren’s birthday.
2. A pepperoni, egg and cheddar scramble on an English muffin and pineapple so far!

Jess March 20, 2013 at 8:25 am

Love this post…love your lists! As for the fridge…get the one you truly want. Never settle when it comes to your home. As long as you won’t really miss that cabinet space, go ahead and get it out and get the one that will make you happy. Trust me. Years down the road, you’ll still have the fridge you didn’t want and may be a tiny bit (deep down) resentful towards it…haha. I’ve learned that if you’re going to have a home and plan to be there for a while, it is worth the extra $$$ to get what you will make you happy. Plus, even if you don’t plan on being there a while, a nice fridge like that would be a little bonus/investment worth noting when you go to sell.

the delicate place March 20, 2013 at 8:32 am

man that is quite a steal of lashes…i told you here in pgh they charge $200! they look gorgeous my dear! i am lucky to have dark lashes but i am secretly jealous i’m not blonde sometimes :)

this is the last thing i bought: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/26402768.jsp?cm_mmc=Email-_-CustServ2013-_-OrderConfirmATG-_-Product

i haven’t eaten yet today but i have had a green juice and coffee with almond milk—i don’t eat breakfast, i’m a drinker!

Christa March 20, 2013 at 8:54 am

The best bachelorette game we played was one where you have all the girls write down their least favorite household chore and why they hate it so much. Then you get the bride to be to answer the question “Sometime I hate sex with (insert fiance’s name here) because….” and she is only reading the reasons why the women hate the chores. It’s hysterical.

barbara@proteinandpushups March 20, 2013 at 10:13 am

Your eyelashes are absolutely stunning! Could you consider doing a more detailed post on the process? That would be great.
Bachelorette parties over here are a bit different to the ones you have in the US of A. Therefore I’m not too sure on how usefull my ideas would be.

Courtney March 20, 2013 at 10:20 am

I second this! Your lashes look AMAZING – definitely worth every penny. I have always lusted after long lashes and I’d love to know more details. I guess I could Google it but I think it would be awesome to hear from your perspective :)

Tamara March 21, 2013 at 7:09 am

Thirded! That would make an awesome post!

Chatelaine March 20, 2013 at 11:05 am

cut the cabinet……..
we did to get our new french door fridge in our kitchen.
we cut it ourselves, our cabinets are pretty plain.
best move ever.

Jentry Nielsen March 20, 2013 at 12:31 pm

I just got eyelash extensions recently too!! I had a friend who was trying to get in so many eyelashes to certify or something…anywho she asked if she could practice on me for free…uh couldn’t pass that one up of course! I had a little bit of a time adjusting but I love them now! Easily on those lazy morning I just don’t want to do makeup! Hope you enjoy yours! They look great!

Meghan @ After the Ivy League March 20, 2013 at 1:18 pm

I’d say one of the major benefits of still being single is that I can eat cereal and protein shakes for dinner whenever I want to haha, I’d 100% be doing the same thing in your shoes! And I saw that angel food french toast too on Jess’s blog and gah. Looks so freaking good, as does everything she makes!

cookie March 20, 2013 at 2:02 pm

I did my taxes over a month ago. But then again, I’m getting money back. And I am a trained tax professional.

Have I told you that I love your dogs? I want to come over and cuddle them.

Janetha March 20, 2013 at 2:26 pm

Maybe that is why I put it off.. we will have to pay! Marshall owns his own LLC, so we pay! Come cuddle, they love to cuddle :)

Angie @ Pint of Goals March 20, 2013 at 3:37 pm

The eyelashes look AMAZING! How long do they last? Do they feel weird?
Before coming home from work, I stopped by Target and bought two pairs of underwear (on sale), Chocolate Chex cereal, Florajen3 (probiotic), Chobanis (on sale!) and crinkle cut fries for dinner. I was hoping to add a couple items to my maternity clothing wardrobe but nothing looked cute or was on sale. I like my sales!

BroccoliHut March 20, 2013 at 5:24 pm

Sunflower butter + pretzels = genius!!!
The last thing I spent money on: lunch at Panera with a friend today.
Two things I ate today: a green smoothie with peaches and a homemade carrot-fig muffin :)

Megan March 20, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Friendly note on the eyelashes, first off…they look fabulous. I’m an Esthetician in St. George, and not only have I myself, but also my instructors and girlfriends have had horrid experiences with them. One of my girlfriends literally started to bleed from her eyes because of the glue they used, and I myself had glue stuck on my lashes for weeks after I took them off. Just be careful with them.

Wendy B. March 20, 2013 at 6:33 pm

Please do a post on your experience with getting your lashes. I think they are beautiful and I would love to have it done. This is the first I’ve heard of it; I really need to get out more. Thanks!

Giselle@myhealthyhappyhome March 20, 2013 at 7:56 pm

1. Your eyelashes look awesome!
2. The cinnamon Good Beans are DA BOMB! My son ate the rest of them today and I was a little jealous. But he’s not even 2 so what can you do!?!
3. Love your doggies too, so cute!
4. I would DIE for a new fridge right now, well, a new house would be even better!
5. The last thing I spent money on was groceries, so exciting!

Katie @ Talk Less, Say More March 20, 2013 at 8:27 pm

The last thing I spent money on was a new windshield wiper blade – so exciting! And the last thing I just ate was a small bowl of apple sauce with a spoonful of peanut butter and sprinkle of granola. SO good!
