dedicated december is a challenge for you to stay active during the month of december. you will get one point/entry for EVERY workout you complete!

for each and every workout you complete in december, leave a comment below. make sure you tell us what the workout was!

examples:

  • “today i ran 3 miles in the bitter, bitter cold.”
  • “today i went snowboarding for 7 hours! yeahhh pow day!”
  • “today i went to the gym and completed a lower body workout using free weights.”

sorry, but shopping, baking, or chasing your dog/kids because they got ahold of the expensive christmas gift for your mother-on-law does not count as a workout.

  • 12/1: day 53 livefit trainer (shoulders) had to train at home because gym power was out
  • 12/2: day 54 livefit trainer (easy legs)
  • 12/3: day 55 livefit trainer (back, rear delts, 30 min moderate cardio)
  • 12/4: 30 minutes moderate cardio on stairmill (to make up for thursday’s missed session)
  • 12/5: day 57 livefit trainer (first day of phase 3, quads & calves)
  • 12/6: day 58 livefit trainer (did it at 5:35 AM!!! back, bis, tris, sprints) + ran at park with dogs in 12* temps
  • 12/7: day 59 livefit trainer (chest, shoulders, abs, sprints)
  • 12/8: day 60 livefit trainer (hamstrings, glutes, calves)
  • 12/9: day 61 livefit trainer (back, biceps, abs, sprints)
  • 12/10: run at park with dogs
  • 12/11: day 62 livefit trainer (shoulders, triceps, abs, sprints)
  • 12/12:  day 64 livefit trainer (quads & calves)
  • 12/13: day 65 livefit trainer (back, arms, abs, sprints)

I walked across campus, back home, back across campus, to the student center, back home, to class, back home, and am going to walk downtown to a benefit concert later. Whew!

Dec. 1-Team Strength Class at 6 am. This is FAR too earlier in the morning to get up, let the dog out, fix my hair, drive to the gym and set up a station. So I nixed doing my hair (!) and got there to join the warm-up in progress and set up my station on the fly!

How fun! I ran 3 miles on the treadmill listening to christmas tunes that they’re playing at the y (yay!) and then 30 easy minutes on the elliptical. Here’s hoping I can do 27 workouts this month too!!

Great idea, Janetha! Today I completed a 550 rep workout thanks to the inspiration from BodyRock along with 20 minutes of jumping rope (w/breaks smattered between the jumps). Feels good to move – good to go for Dec 1st!

26 min./2 mile treadmill workout, including running and incline walking
5 min. on the rower machine
10 minutes on the elliptical

12/1/11: I did 25 minutes of HIIT–in my house because it was too cold outside! Stair sprints, coffee table step up, plank and burpees! Ouch!

Today I did day 11 of Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer and it was shoulder and ab day! I did 3 sets of 12 for every exercise: seated dumbbell press, standing dumbbell straight-arm front delt raise to a ‘T’, side lateral raise, seated bent-over read delt raise, exercise ball crunch, and air bike. Then I did HIIT on the treadmill for 20 minutes (30 seconds running at 7.5mph then 30 seconds off the treadmill, repeat).

I did this “Shredmill” workout from Tone It Up:
3 minute brisk walk
3 minute jog
1 minute sprint
1 minute jog
1 minute sprint

Repeat 4 times. After the end of the last sprint for round one: 20 push-ups, round 2: 20 jump squats, round 3: 20 sit-ups, round 4: 45 second plank.

I walked for 20 minute on the treadmill then did the following:

I did one round of each of the following exercises 10 times
10 stationary lunges (per leg) w/10lb dumbbells in each hand
10 decline crunches
10 reverse crunches

Then I moved on and did 8 rounds of the following:
5 standard dips
10 goblet squats (w/15 lb dumbbell)
5 fingertip pull ups

Finished it off w/5 minutes on the stationary bike :-)

I did 25 minutes of treadmill HIIT and some full body weight circuits including everyone’s favorite move, the burpee, in between supersets. definitely left me as one hot mess.

I came home from work today and did an at-home 1 hour long yoga class! I had been putting my workouts off lately, but was so pleased with myself after I did the practice. Then I read your blog and you have a contest, and felt even happier I did it!

Cool idea. So motivating :-) Today was a mix of cardio on the ellip, plus upper body exercises using a combo of my own body weight and free weights . I executed 2 full pull-ups, UN-assisted…hollah!

I did Day 45 of the Live Fit Trainer: Chest & Abs + 30 minutes of cardio.
I also walked to and from school to get Gigi. Oh and I carried Lulu both ways.

I’m training for the May 2012 Tough Mudder in PA, so I’ll need to stay as dedicated as possible over this first month! My workout for today was the BodyRock challenge from 11/28. 10 round of 10 reps of 10 exercises. YEESH. Took me 41:51 to finish. 100 burpees, 100 push ups, etc.

40 jumping jacks
30 crunches
20 squats
10 pushups
x3

A pin on Pinterest told me each round burned 100 calories. If so, might have been the easiest 300 calories I’ve ever burned… Love this contest, great motivation!

Because it’s Thursday double day for me, I did a 45 minute bootcamp class at the Y after work. Our usual instructor was out, and the sub kicked my butt with a ton of new combos. Yeowch (Yeah!+Ouch!)
