dedicated december 2012.

dedicated december is a challenge for you to stay active during the month of december. you will get one point/entry for EVERY workout you complete!

for each and every workout you complete in december, leave a comment on below. make sure you tell us what the workout was!

examples:

  • “today i ran 3 miles in the bitter, bitter cold.”
  • “today i went snowboarding for 7 hours! yeahhh pow day!”
  • “today i went to the gym and completed a lower body workout using free weights.”
  • “today i shoveled snow for 45 minutes. i shoveled my neighbor’s driveway, too!”

make sense?

sorry, but shopping, baking, or chasing your dog/kids because they got a hold of the expensive christmas gift for your mother-in-law does not count as a workout.

oh, and if you are die hard and worked out twice in one day (at separate times) then by all means leave two different comments.

every comment you leave (meaning every workout you log) counts as one entry.

i will draw a name from the comments each week and announce the winners of each weekly prize. here they are:

week 1 (december 1 – december 8) prize: fitmixer aminos & blender bottle!
provided by fitmixer

image image

week 2 (december 9 – december 15) prize: mixed case of larabars!
provided by larabar

week 3 (december 16 – december 22) prize: gymboss interval timer!
provided by gymboss

week 4 (december 23 – december 31) prize: thermos cold hydration bottle!
provided by thermos

grand prize!

for the MOST workouts logged the entire month: $25 gift card to swanson health products!
provided by swanson health products

i’d like to thank the challenge sponsors: fitmixer, larabar, gymboss, thermos, and swanson health products. you guys are the best!

  • you DO NOT have to have a blog to participate. don’t be shy! just leave a comment below every time you work out this month.
  • comments left that are NOT actual workout entries will be deleted (so the random drawing is easier.)

love this!

i took a 50 minute RPM spin class and then did a modified version of GPP’S workout. i don’t have access to a rower, kettlebells or a box so i did 25 dumbbell swings, 40 stair jumps, 25 more dumbbell swings with 5 lbs. only made it through 2 rounds before i died.

I took my dog for a 3 mile run/walk/jog! The weather was really nice this morning and wanted to take advantage of it and enjoy my workout outside!

Denise December 1, 2012 at 9:26 am

I ran 5.10 miles this morning! I am chipping away at a December goal of 125 miles. I MET my goal for Novembers “pile on the miles” by clocking 120.33 miles for the WIN. (so I added five to make a December goal)
I am hoping to end up just as fit and healthy after all of the Holiday cheer as I feel today!

Rest day today, but I’m upgrading all my software on my lappy, so I had some downtime. I’m doing Courtney’s 2012 closeout challenge too, so I worked on that:

Dec 1: 75 pushups (on feet – 50 in a row + 25 in a row after a break), 50 lunges, 100 naked squats, 1+ minute plank. Total left: 30 planks, 10 runs, 300 squats, 400 lat pulls, 25 pushups, 400 plank rows, 400 mountain climbers, 191 lunges = 1756 left for the month of december.

Just got back from running the Jolly Jaunt 5k for Special Olympics with my husband in Boston! It was awesome because it was snowing lightly while we ran (and my husband rarely runs)…I LOVED running together, seeing the snow, seeing the kids run/walk, and seeing the city decorated. Then I can home and did an ab kill (10 min) taught to me by the best trainer in Arlington, MA Joe Rindone at Get Tone with Rindone! Happy December 1st everyone!

Day one: Active “rest” day. Hiked three miles with my puppy. Hard to “rest” when I have a seven-month-old Golden Retriever. “Rest” is not in his vocabulary.
