dedicated december 2012.
dedicated december is a challenge for you to stay active during the month of december. you will get one point/entry for EVERY workout you complete!
for each and every workout you complete in december, leave a comment on below. make sure you tell us what the workout was!
examples:
- “today i ran 3 miles in the bitter, bitter cold.”
- “today i went snowboarding for 7 hours! yeahhh pow day!”
- “today i went to the gym and completed a lower body workout using free weights.”
- “today i shoveled snow for 45 minutes. i shoveled my neighbor’s driveway, too!”
make sense?
sorry, but shopping, baking, or chasing your dog/kids because they got a hold of the expensive christmas gift for your mother-in-law does not count as a workout.
oh, and if you are die hard and worked out twice in one day (at separate times) then by all means leave two different comments.
every comment you leave (meaning every workout you log) counts as one entry.
i will draw a name from the comments each week and announce the winners of each weekly prize. here they are:
week 1 (december 1 – december 8) prize: fitmixer aminos & blender bottle!
provided by fitmixer
week 2 (december 9 – december 15) prize: mixed case of larabars!

7 mile interval run and chest and tri’s! Felt good this morning so I went hard. Bring on December!!
3 different Bodyrock workouts for 45 min! First day back at it after a break to recover from a cold- it was great to be moving again!
This morning I actually did YOUR 20 minute go-to HIIT before work! Now I get to shelve books for 8 hours!
woohoo, i remember loving this last year…i just have to remember to actually post here this year :) i have a rest day from my lifting program today but wanted to get in something this morning! i did a quick metcon that hit legs, arms and core (all with bodyweight!) that only took 15 min and i was super sweaty after…i’ll take it!
3-mi run in the chilly air – great way to wake up :)
Completed a 60 minute bootcamp class this am. Holy pushups!
Travel WOD (circuit of burpees, squat jumps, push ups, etc) and some body weight strength training. I’m out of town for a wedding and was happy to sneak a workout in!
I did a Cathe Friederich plyo legs dvd, it’s a plyo weighted leg workout, feels so good to be done!
I did this workout this morning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=514W-RB7Xiw

just got back from the gym! did 30 minutes of intervals on the arc trainer, 15 minutes biking (2.78 miles!) and finished with some weight lifting
I did an arm/upper body circuit and a 10 minute plank workout from health.com. All done at home with free weights!
I just got back from my first swim workout since the summer. I swam for an hour and completed 2100 yards.
Just got back from running 10 miles, and it was really cold. Coffee me!
love this!
i took a 50 minute RPM spin class and then did a modified version of GPP’S workout. i don’t have access to a rower, kettlebells or a box so i did 25 dumbbell swings, 40 stair jumps, 25 more dumbbell swings with 5 lbs. only made it through 2 rounds before i died.
I took my dog for a 3 mile run/walk/jog! The weather was really nice this morning and wanted to take advantage of it and enjoy my workout outside!
I ran 5.10 miles this morning! I am chipping away at a December goal of 125 miles. I MET my goal for Novembers “pile on the miles” by clocking 120.33 miles for the WIN. (so I added five to make a December goal)
I am hoping to end up just as fit and healthy after all of the Holiday cheer as I feel today!
Rest day today, but I’m upgrading all my software on my lappy, so I had some downtime. I’m doing Courtney’s 2012 closeout challenge too, so I worked on that:
Dec 1: 75 pushups (on feet – 50 in a row + 25 in a row after a break), 50 lunges, 100 naked squats, 1+ minute plank. Total left: 30 planks, 10 runs, 300 squats, 400 lat pulls, 25 pushups, 400 plank rows, 400 mountain climbers, 191 lunges = 1756 left for the month of december.
45 minute treadmill workout with inclines, sprints, walking lunges, and a few minutes of burpees, squat jumps, and pushups. I Loved the burn and calorie smashing! Let’s be dedicated in December everyone!
I remember this from last year and loved it!
Dec 1 – I really did not want to get up early on a Saturday, but I did and completed an at home circuit that really made me sweat! Always feel so much more accomplished when I push myself!!

Dec 1… Chaleane extreme burn circut 1 completed.
I jogged at the park for 30 minutes on a trail while my boys played.
Just got back from running the Jolly Jaunt 5k for Special Olympics with my husband in Boston! It was awesome because it was snowing lightly while we ran (and my husband rarely runs)…I LOVED running together, seeing the snow, seeing the kids run/walk, and seeing the city decorated. Then I can home and did an ab kill (10 min) taught to me by the best trainer in Arlington, MA Joe Rindone at Get Tone with Rindone! Happy December 1st everyone!
Today I did an hour of crossfit in the rain! I love this idea. Thanks, Janetha
I just got done training for a super secret class we are going to start in the spring! It was plyos and strength; that’s all I can say :) ill be back at the gym soon for workout round 2!!
Day one: Active “rest” day. Hiked three miles with my puppy. Hard to “rest” when I have a seven-month-old Golden Retriever. “Rest” is not in his vocabulary.
December 1 – 4 mile run with some crazy wind blowing at me. I was going to do weights after, but my muscles were too tired from running against the wind!
I did an hour pilates class!
The WOD I did at my box this morning was:
4 x 12 front squats and 4 x 12 ring rows
Then…for time
100 wall balls (14ibs)
50 pull ups
25 GHB sit ups.
I did a 20 minute HIIT workout on the elliptical first thing this morning! Still feeling awesome from it. :)

Circuit workout and 20 minutes on the stairclimber!
I hit the gym and while my cardio was just 30 minutes on the elliptical, I hammered my arms and legs in the weight room! Very pleased with myself!
I have been looking forward to #dedicateddecember all year! it kept me accountable last year. Today I cured my tired/hangover with 45 minutes cardio split between elliptical, treadmill and adaptive motion trainer.
I did a Bodyworks class (weights) for an hour this morning & the followed it up with an hour long Zumba class for some cardio. Feels great & am reaching my goals!
