i am pretty stoked about today’s giveaway of christmas because there’s a wonderful cause behind the company, headbands of hope.
headbands of hope is an organization that raises money to fund research for childhood cancer AND . i wanted to spread the word about headbands of hope, because every headband purchase directly benefits a little girl with cancer as well as raises money for st. baldrick’s foundation for cancer research.
headbands of hope headbands are made right here in the USA. there are dozens of styles to choose from in their online shop.
the ladies at headbands of hope asked me to host a giveaway for them to raise awareness about their products and their cause. if you are looking for a cute christmas gift for someone or if you just want to buy yourself a new headband, make sure you check them out!
it’s the fifth giveaway, and so headbands of hope is giving away five headbands! they will also give five headbands to five little girls with cancer as well as donate $1 for each headband to cancer research.
five winners will be able to pick a glitter headband—color is winner’s choice.

I am actually part of a social justice live-in community on campus and we do service at least once a week and promote social justice in our university community!
I was part of a charity running team, called Pink Streak, who participated in a Half Marathon and raised money for a non profit organization dedicated to breast cancer research!
That is a really nice cause. I sewed hats for the local shelter one year. It was fun once I got the hang of it. Happy Day #5 :)
I volunteer at my local library every week, its great to help a place that I love and support!
I’ve donated a foot of hair three times to organizations that make wigs for kids with cancer. It’s a vicious cycle but I love it :) So fitting that the giveaway is for headbands!
Each year my husband & I donate to a local animal rescue or shelter in need. Last year we donated to a local rescue & the year before we bought an animal shelter a bunch of really nice raised bed/cots that they had on their wish list. Still trying to choose this year’s charity.

I helped raise money for Girls on The Run by participating in their solemate program. It was really great!
I cut off what was supposed to be 10, but ended up being more like 14 inches of my hair for locks of love. I kept telling myself someone needed my hair more than me, because they’d lost theirs to cancer. Really puts a bad haircut into perspective!
Great giveaway! Something charitable I’ve done is go on a trip to Mexico to build houses for the poor!
I volunteer at the soup kitchen several times a month and it is so humbling!
I rang the bell for the Salvation Army while singing Christmas carols with a bunch of friends, and tons of people donated money!! Also, I’m Jewish :-)
Growing up I volunteered many hours at the local hospital gift shop.
I’m a volunteer doula for low income women!
When I was in high school, I volunteered at the hospital and loved it.
I know this is kinda small scale, but there is a father daughter “team” on my triathlon team that isn’t really able to afford the sport. Every year my friend and I secretly pay for their membership and also one race each. Last year, we also donated their Tri suits. They know that there is someone(s) on the team doing it and I assume they think its our coach. I don’t want them to find out who it is, because I just like seeing how excited they get to be apart of the team and that’s all the thanks I need. FYI I am not a glitter girl but those headbands are cute!

LOVE Headbands for Hope!!
As of recently I sent a huge box of stuff to a friend of mine who lives on Staten Island. She was able to hand out gloves, hand warmers, batteries, flashlights, etc to her neighbors who lost everything in Hurricane Sandy. I felt so good and like I had REALLY done something to help those in need.
i participate in volunteer projects through groups and clubs at school a few times a year. i’ve served food to the people of skid row, maintained a community garden, cleaned up the historical manzanar landmark…fun and interesting stuff!
I made a quilt for Project Linus at Christmas time last year.
Love those headbands! I always look forward to picking a couple Salvation Army Angels from the tree @ my gym & going shopping for them. I try to put myself in their shoes & figure out what they would want for Christmas.
We donate money, towels and bones to the spca every year!
I always donate $1 when the cashier asks if I want to donate to St. Jude or any other association! It adds up over the years! :)

I just organized an “adopt a family” program with my work! We are delivering the gifts this week :)
I work in a hospital. I love to randomly buy a meal for a patients family. Glorious feeling. I then go back to my office and cry because I’m so humbled by them. I’m a crybaby!
My small group took over a local charity home’s Christmas Gift program this year. We spent months organizing their toys, interviewing families, inventory-ing their new toy donations, then “shopping” for the families and finally we are in the midst of servicing the pick up if the gifts. My daughters were able to help with a lot of this as well, which was super cool!
Their headbands are so cute! I currently am a foster home/volunteer for a local animal rescue organization. I love kitties and dogs!

When DH & I were at the vet’s with our cat a few years back, we noticed a little stray kitten that the vet had taken in. The kitten needed an operation that our vet couldn’t do herself, but one of her friends was going to do it. We paid for the surgery, and the kitten was adopted.
I still feel really good about doing my little part to help that kitten have a good life.

Our family adopted a whole family for Christmas this year, instead of just picking a few names off a tree. It’s been a huge project, but so rewarding. We want this family to have the best Christmas ever!

Every Christmas I adopt an angel from the Salvation Army. I have everything I need. I don’t get into getting gifts but I love buying things for a needy child. I want those kiddos to believe there is still good in the world.
i love volunteering and supporting the National Kidney Foundation. My mom is blessed to be a transplant recipient with my best friend being the donor! I understand how important it is for kidney disease and dialysis patients to have proper funding and research to help fight their disease.
