once upon a time i met my friends at takashi for sushi and we waited for an hour and fifteen minutes for a table.
luckily we all have draw something on our phones to keep us occupied.
half of our party got tired of waiting and they split, so that left just three of us for dinner.
the end.
once upon a time me and my two remaining ladyfriends shared edamame and six fabulous rolls of sushi between us.
we ate everything except one single piece. we just couldn’t do it.
the end.
once upon a time i saw a dude at takashi wearing a polkadog bakery tshirt!
this was random because it’s a dog treat bakery back east that i did a review for awhile ago.
i was a total creeper and took his photo. but then i decided to talk to him. his name was jason and i’m fairly certain he was quite intoxicated.
the end.
once upon a time i went to the what a woman wants show and worked at the fitmixer booth.
we gave out lots of tasty amino samples.
and we told people all about the upcoming fitmixer bootcamp!
it was so much fun. more on that later.
the end.
once upon a time there was an 8-week-old puppy at the booth next to us.
i squealed. several times.
the end.
once upon a time a girl came to the fitmixer booth and we started talking about gluten free baking. i told her about my cookies from friday, and then she whipped out some cookies of her own!
she even let me try one. it was DELICIOUS! maybe she is reading.. and will offer up her recipe. here’s hoping!
the end.
once upon a time momma b met me at the expo.
she signed up for the boot camp and bought some grape fitmixer. then we posed.

we decided to walk around the expo. i bought some jewelry and a tank top. then we passed a teeth whitening booth and decided to go for it. everyone loves whiter teeth!

it worked out well.
the end.
once upon a time i went to nordstrom rack and bought green pants.
i wore them to work today. my boss made fun of me. true story. oh well, i like them!
the end.
once upon a time i went to citris grill for dinner. i ordered a pizza with caramelized onions, mushrooms, gorgonzola, and mozzarella. and i said to hell with worrying about protein. i talked about that in this video.
it was a very, very delicious choice.
the end.
once upon a time i saw the cabin in the woods.
(source)
to be honest, it wasn’t the best flick. but the company was good.
so was the popcorn.
the end.
once upon a time marshall bought a harley.
oh, did you miss my video announcing that? you can see it here.. around minute 8.
i am excited for him!! and i am excited to ride on the back. but please refrain from calling me a biker babe. kay?
the end.
once upon a time i finally decided to make dinner at home.
that was sunday night. we had filet mignon, roasted fingerling potatoes, and asparagus. it was amazing, costco has the best filets.
the end.
YOUR TURN! give me one short story from the weekend.

I don’t have much more to say than that pizza sounds amazing and THAT DOG IS IN A CRATE THIS IS ADORABLE.
I have green pants too, and several people have mocked them as well!! But I love them, so they can just get over it. Sounds like y’all had a fun weekend!
OMG I LOOOOOOOVE Polkadog!! We use to live in Boston and would bring Winston (our pug) to the dog park right around the corner from Polkadog. Which meant we HAD to stop on our way home! I have my sister buy treats from there now since we moved. I miss it :(
Once upon a time I got the genius idea of running a marathon. This requires training which involves long run. This weekend I had the pleasure of suffering through 17 miles this weekend. It was hard and I seriously considered chopping my legs off…but I didn’t, I survived!
What a great weekend! That sushi, I’m still back at that at the top of the post…looks delish!
Once upon a time, I bought a new car!!! :)
Highlight of my weekend definitely was renewing my Costco subscription and buying a juice while there!
Hey Biker Babe… you’re gonna look hot on the back of that bike! hehe. couldn’t resist. Looks like a great weekend. I love sushi. Your friends that split totally missed out.
And once upon a time, I took a ski lift that I Thought I was going to die on. But we made it. And the beer calmed my nerves. The end.
You tell the best stories and have the best weekends.
And pants, mothers and husbands.
<3
I just bought coral denim pants!!! LOVE them!! Colored denim is awesome and your boss is lame for not knowing this.
Once upon a time, I went to a dog easter egg hunt with a puggle (and a boyfriend, his adoptive dad).
http://instagr.am/p/JaEIB8OCZY/
He sniffed a lot of butts, and got a lot of easter eggs that had good presents in them (BOGO Rita’s!), and ate a cheeseburger.
He passed out in the car on the way home.
The end.
I love it!
Sounds like a good weekend to me! I love the green pants. CONGRATS to the man on the bike! Josh wanted one for a while…I am going to email you a couple questions about supplements etc!
Once upon a time, we saw Cabin in the Woods, too! And actually loved it. But then, we’re big Joss Whedon geeks. :D
Oh, and we made it a double feature, catching Lockout right after. Yes, we paid for it. Luckily, both flicks started before noon so the tix were only $5 each.
That wasn’t the shortest story ever, but there you go!
You’re a better wife than me – I would be scared out of my mind if the Husband got a motorcycle. Actually, he had a bike before we got married… and it freaked me out. I did not enjoy it. he no longer has said bike. ;)
This weekend I got sushi too!
once upon a time i organized an event as a class project for my local humane society called puppy palooza.
two dogs were adopted! i now have a terrible picture in the newspaper after the puppy in my arms licked my mouth

the end
I love your stories. They are a lot happier than mine.
Once upon a time, the Pittsburgh Penguins sucked. I threw a pillow across the room and turned off the television. I did not live happily ever after.
Thank goodness for a new day!
Once upon a time, I picked a piece of fuzz off of my pants. Then I casually threw it behind the couch because I’m lazy. True story.
The end.
Can I just say, BEST short story ever!!
Once upon I time I went to do my regular Saturday volunteer shift at my local animal shelter. It is a great place. I decided to socialize a litter of ten puppies, but first I had to bath them, all ten. They got clean, I got wet. The end.
Once upon a time I went to a restaurant in NYC called Peep on Saturday. It is called Peep because while you are going to the bathroom you can see everyone eating and chatting in the restaurant. One sided mirrors. I am fairly certain the girl wrestling with my door knob was very intoxicated. The end :)
Love this post!
I love your short stories posts!
Once upon a time I decided to work in the yard, not something I do normally. Began scooping out old mulch, saw a snake and went screaming inside and decided to do the dreaded job of washing and folding clothes instead.
The end
once upon a time, i worked thu/fri/sat night and was supposed to go back for one more night on sun, but got an unexpected call to see if i wanted the night off. i said yes. i wanted to go back to bed, but i ended up staying up all night anyway and by morning i thought, hmm, i should’ve just gone into work and gotten paid.
the end.
i would have waited that long for sushi. worth it for sure :) yay for your stems! love my green pants! motorcycles scare me but i secretly wish i was bad ass enough to own one haha.
I definitely missed that Marshall bought a bike. How exciting for him! Toly would die for one but I kindly told him I would leave him if I ever did it. You are a much better wife than I lady!
we want those green pants! Michelle tried some on the other day but we did not get them, but now we are thinking we should go back and get them :)
and we would have squealed all day long if that dog was near us :) too cute
Eeeee! Marshall got a Harley!? That is very exciting. My ex-boyfriend Chris had a Harley and I loved riding on the back of it. You’ll have to get some sweet motorcycle gear. I actually bought a pair of boots and a helmet while I was going out with him. Now I have a random motorcycle helmet and no bike to wear it on… hmm…
This weekend I stopped wearing my wig out in public. I started overcompensating with heavy mascara and skirts so people don’t mistake me for a boy. The end!
Yay! (the wig/skirt sitch) but u are so feminine and pretty no one would mistake u for a boy!!
Have fun with Marshall and the motorcycle! I love taking bike rides with my husband. He still has hit crotch rocket from his single days but we want to upgrade for a Harley someday!
I went to Takashi a long time ago and remember the wait was long. My friend and I sat on the steps outside with our water glasses until we could get a table. Totally worth the wait though! Jer doesn’t like sushi either so I gotta wait for a girl’s night to get it.
once upon a time, i drove my brother 5 hours away to tour of battenkill metric century cycling race… he kicked ass and placed 7 out of 150 in his category. i yelled swears like “f*ck yeah! sh*t yeah” like any good sister would. it was the best ever. the end!
i was right! i knew it was marshalls.
Once upon a time I watched “Bridesmaids” all weekend long. I will not confirm or nor deny it was this past weekend.
ONCE UPON A TIME – i was freaking out over how to plan my hubby and I’s honeymoon and knew we wanted to do northern california.. then ! I got my FOOD NETWORK magazine in the mail.. They do FOOD NETWORK vacations- to where?? Napa/Sonoma/San Fran.. INSERT me screaming!! Hmmm now i need to convince my hubby lol
Motorcycle + farmer’s market = no more parking madness. Just bring a backpack for the ride home :) (we take our Vespa a lot :) )
I would totally wait that long for sushi.
Also, so exciting about Marshalls motorcycle!
Short story from my weekend?
One day my Mom turned 50 and we through her a big surprise party and I gave her 50 hand written memories from 50 people who know her. It was awesome.
The end.
once upon a time I saw the sweetest little long dog in the photo of a Harley… OH SO cute.
once upon a time I found myself in Missouri for the past week… still here, still enjoying Jason’s family – these people are truly Salt of the Earth and I love every one.
Once upon a (scary) time…
My puppies got attacked by and in a fight with a pit bull at the dog park on Friday. I corrected them while the other owner only told her dog to “be nice”. So we left. Now I need to find a new dog park.
The end.
=(
Once upon a time I took your almond flour cookie recipe and made a vegan version as well as using plant fusion chocolate They turned out delicious. I had them for breakfast and my clients enjoy them too! I’ll blog about them this week. Thanks again. The end.
I love your green pants…I personally want a pair of pink jeans but can’t find any for the life of me! Here’s my once upon a time:
Once upon a time I tried bacon in my salad. I’ve never had bacon before and I can’t believe I’ve been missing out for so long. The end.
Once upon a time, I ate cake and watched movies instead of working out or running on a Sunday. It was a great choice, no regrets.
This FitMixer sounds interesting…
once upon a time i ran a marathon and went into the freezing cold see to cool off my legs after :)
once upon a time i really needed to catch up sleep after the weekend because it seems i can’t spell! SEA not see!
Once upon a time I did nothing all weekend, but I can’t remember when that was!!
Once upon a time, I was invited to a Titanic remembrance event. I walked up the gangplank at 4:00pm Saturday afternoon, and disembarked at 3:50am Sunday morning, between which was a six-course dinner. It was crazy and amazing. The end. :-)
Once upon a time I went to a hot yoga class that played Red Hot Chili Peppers songs throughout. The class kicked my ass. The end.
I love Randy creepin’ in the background of the harley shot! And that puppy? WANT!!
So cute :)
Once upon a time my sweet darling daughter decided life was too fun to nap. She subsequently fussed all evening, dumped out all the doggie food and water from their bowls, bit my knee, and ran into the door jam creating a nice red line on her forehead. Momma and Dadda were very tired as a result. (that was Saturday).
Sunday was a big improvement – but really, how could it not be?!
Once upon a time my hubby and I invited some friends over to make bracelets on Sunday afternoon. We ate yummy artichoke dip and veggies. Then on to bracelet making courtesy of some Pinterest ideas. The hubby even made a couple. We had fun and had lots of laughs. The end. Check out my instagram, shel1181, to see some of the bracelets we made :-)
Once upon a time my husband planned a whole weekend in Cincinnati with my parents :) We live 8 hours apart and hadn’t seen each other since the beginning of December! We went to the aquarium, the zoo, and had some delicious food. It was the best weekend we’ve had in a long time! The End :)
I have pants in that same color. I wear them w/ a pink shirt and everyone at work calls me Easter egg girl. It’s great.
1. The sushi looks like it was worth the wait. And I have definitely been in a situation where no one could eat that ONE last roll.
2. I bet multiple people said “those are some green pants!” to which I hope you replied “thank you captain obvious.” i used to have a pair of pink pants that I loved, but got so annoyed at everyone pointing out that they were pink.
3. My short weekend story:
Once upon a time I ran into the store to get a DVD from Redbox. A cool looking cyclist ran in right behind me with a DVD in hand. I let him cut in front of me since he was just returning. It turns out that he was returning the only copy of “The Descendents,” which is exactly what I wanted to rent. I love being in the right place at the right time.
LOVE your bold pants – if I had the legs I would wear them too! :D
Once upon a time I had chicken tacos with my daughter while we stalked people on facebook. So fun, delicious! the end.
Once upon a time on Saturday I played put-put and won, then celebrated with my first ever trip for fro-yo. True story.
Once upon a time I went to a tiny town named Clitherall and drank jagermeister from the spout. Not one of my proudest moments. the end.
Your posts crack me up – I love your writing style!
Once upon a time my husband and I cooked chicken curry for dinner guests and now my entire home smells of it.
