i know a few days have gone by without me talking about the great fundraising act—but that doesn’t mean i haven’t been hard at work trying to pull more money in for susan.
of the 198 winners from the auction, all but TEN items have been paid for! that’s pretty amazing. i actually have had a hard time contacting a few of the winners who haven’t paid.. so if you are one of them and are reading this, get at me! please and thanks :)
in addition to the auction, i am still coordinating with bloggers and companies who want to donate an item to sell. these items are ones similar to those that were in the auction, but were not submitted in time to auction off. this will be called “after the act.” it will be great for those who wanted to purchase something in the auction but could either not hop online on auction day or were outbid by others during the auction.
it’ll still be a bit before “after the act” is in order and ready to launch, but there is something else you can help us out with in the meantime!
my future HLS roomie, lauren, has been hard at work behind the scenes as well! she has been working with nuts about granola and cancer warrior.
nuts about granola has created a delicious variety of granola called “warrior crunch”.
this granola is a healthy blend of oats, honey, almonds, dried fruit and chocolate chips.
a bag of this granola is ONLY $5.99!!!
nuts about granola and cancer warrior have graciously offered to donate ALL proceeds that come from the sales of warrior crunch from august 1 to october 31 straight to susan and the great fundraising act.
hello, generosity.
a bit more about the two fabulous companies who are making this happen—and why they are making it happen:
Nuts About Granola® and Cancer Warrior have teamed up to launch Warrior Crunch in an effort to raise money for cancer research. Formulated with cancer patients in mind, this energy-packed snack is full of whole grains, almonds, anti-oxidant rich cherries and dark chocolate.
Sarah Lanphier, owner of Nuts About Granola, and Heather Barley, owner of Cancer Warrior recently discovered how much they had in common; professionally and personally. Both own businesses in York and Lancaster, both were featured in the Emmy® Gift Bags last September and both have a passion for helping others.
“No cancer patient wants to be known as “the guy or gal with cancer”. They are regular people who just want to be a regular person again. Enjoying the little things in life, like a delicious breakfast, makes all the difference” Says Heather Barely.
“I, like most people, know of a loved one who has been affected by cancer. Heather came to me with the idea of teaming up to make a co-branded granola to raise money for cancer research and I didn’t even let her finish her sentence before saying yes” Says Sarah Lanphier.

First, I’m loving your blog :) (A newbie to Meals and Moves, I first heard of you from Meals and Miles.)
This posting about the fabulous mail you received made me smile… because I know how great it is to get a “just because” note in the mail. When my cousin passed away this past year, I flew up to Philly from Orlando and spent the week helping his sister (another cousin and one of my best friends) with anything that I could, knowing I couldn’t mend her heart but that I could, for instance, make sure her three boys no longer ate Oreos for breakfast and the dog made it to the vet. A week after I got home, I had the most loving note in the mail waiting for me, thanking me for all that I’ve done. She’s my “cister,” really, and helping her wasn’t a choice… it was instinct and a given. Just like The Great Fundraising Act for you! So that’s the last time I got a piece of mail that made me smile (and cry). A long-winded answer, but absolutely keep up the good work!
tweeted it! ♥
