christmas cookie decorating is a tradition my family started last year.
we decided to start doing this INSTEAD of walking around in freezing cold temperatures looking at christmas lights at temple square. trust me, after 25 years of doing the temple square lights, i knew what it was all about and i can say i don’t miss that tradition a bit.
the cookie tradition was my idea. and it is much warmer. and it’s fun!
some of the finished products~
aren’t my niece and nephews cute? momma b is too, of course.
speaking of nephews.. remember my lil’ nephew greyson who was in the ICU back in october? well, look how big he is getting! i love him.
here he is with his momma, lindsay. my sis in law.
look at that face!
my other sister’s baby, ben, is only a month older than grey but he is basically double his size.
look at those cheeks!
the pups were at the cookie festivities too…
but only because i couldn’t leave them home alone. i came home to yet ANOTHER mess yesterday.
remember those cute cookie mix jars i made? well, i came home to this:
ugh. seriously?! how did randy pull them all off the counter?!
and i am sure they ate PLENTY of chocolate chips. baaaad dogs.
moving on.

Christmas eve is always spent with a glass of wine and Christmas movies :)
I don’t have a family tradition, but I have a tradition with my best friend and her family where I go over their house and they pretend I’m one of their own. I like this tradition :)
Merry Christmas!
my Xmas day tradition: Chinese food dinner with dad. Takeout, to be specific, eaten in our Vermont inn where we ski every year. Typical Jew-on-Christmas behavior. I dig.
Happy Christmas Eve my friend!!!
Unfortunately we don’t have any traditions.. we’re boring. ;)
Our tradition is always to open 1 gift on christmas eve!
We make sausage bread every Christmas morning.
One of ours is making Christmas cookies and decorating them too. And watching It’s a wonderful life.
Watching It’s a Wonderful Life!
Always going to my mom’s sisters on Xmas eve and eating tamales while Santa visits :)
We always have lasagna on Christmas Eve right before heading to church! We’re about to dig in right NOW!
Every christmas morning, we get up and open stockings and eat a huge breakfast, then open gifts.
My mom always has my Aunt, Uncle and two cousins who are my age over for Hanukkah. We’ve been doing it since we were kids and it always involves board games and Pillsbury Slice and Bake cookies. Since we’ve gotten older, we’re not always able to celebrate on the actual holiday, so sometimes we have Hanukkah in the summer.
Every year we have a Christmas/birthday party (my mom’s bday is the 25th) on christmas eve… sadly I moved to Alaska from GA and won’t be attending this year.
going out for chinese food because we are jewish! :)
The children are too cute and I like the cookies! :)
Our family traditions include watching A Christmas Story as many times as we can during the 24 hour marathon on TBS and getting Chinese food (like they do in the movie. ;))
