i was out of the house for fifteen hours straight yesterday. obviously, blogging was not on the agenda.
i haven’t been to the gym since last friday, but i think carrying 15 hickory farms meat & cheese gifts through the entire mall counts as a workout, don’t you?
my arms are bruised from the experience.
i am not joking.
while i keep photographing various things that have been going on with me, i haven’t had a chance to sit down and blog about them.
enter: a list.
lists always save the day. i love a good list. we all know that.
eight things from my camera card..lately.
1. i received my awesome gift from the christmas blogger swap.
stefanie is such a babe. she knows me too well—check out all the fun owl stuff! and that canister is full of mrs. field’s nibblers. i have been inhaling them. thanks so much, stefanie, and special thanks to tina for setting it all up.
2. i made some fun holiday gifts for co-workers.
i used my chocolate chip cookie recipe to make these fun jars. it took a long time and multiple trips to multiple stores, but in the end.. it was worth it. i think they turned out great.
to make the ingredients fit into the jar, i used only 2/3 of the recipe (and only 1 egg instead of 2, since you can’t really use 2/3 of 2 eggs). i had to use trial and error to see how much mix would fit in a jar and if the cookies would turn out if all ingredients were dumped in at once and if it was better to use one egg or two. ![]()
well, three batches and 75 cookies later, i figured out the perfect measurements and 24 gifts were made.
3. i got my hair done.
hello, bangs, oh how i have missed you! marshall likes the side swept bangs, i like the blunt ones. so, i mix it up. sometimes blunt, sometimes side swept. a little bit of useless information for you guys. you’re welcome.
4. we had an office lunch today and it was delicious.
all the girls brought a little something to share. i was in charge of dessert. i was going to make apple crisp from scratch.. but i was shopping until 10:30 PM last night. gross. SO.. i opted to purchase a dozen treats from kneader’s bakery.
cute, right?
there was also 7 layer dip, chips, chicken & black bean deliciousness and treats galore.
i loved the homemade baklava.
5. it’s clementine season!
i came home to find a box of these at my house. thanks, marshall!
i love the tiny segments.
6. my lens cap miraculously appeared.
this thing has been missing for at least 3 months. i have no idea where it came from, but it was all of a sudden on my kitchen table. i am not complaining… but that is really flipping strange.
7. someone (or two) ate a whole loaf of bread.
okay, okay, so that is NOT so great. i came home to the empty, torn apart bag on the floor. it wasn’t great but it was funny. and look how guilty they are.
sure hope it was good, penny.
8. i got this awesome owl ribbon.
however, i have no clue what to do with it…
there you go. eight things.
i do have a few things still left to be blogged about including two recipes and one restaurant review.. oh, and THREE more giveaways. stay tuned! and in the meantime, you can still enter giveaway #7 and giveaway #9—they are both open to enter into through christmas eve.
i know that my blogging habits are all over the place. i am not saying i am sorry but i am saying i miss the usual schedule. hopefully things will go back to normal soon.. i miss normalcy and i miss reading other blogs. but for now, christmas activities rank top priority.
here is a clue regarding a fun upcoming post…
be back later!
Q~
what is one great thing that has happened in your life lately?
xo. janetha g.

One great thing that’s happened in my life lately?
My mom hopped in a car and started her drive toward me to visit! She should be here in the next hour. She lives about 7 hours away, and she is awesome. Every time she comes to visit my brothers and I try to get her to move closer, but she has a stupid thing called a “job” up there. LAME.
Umm, you could send ME the owl ribbon. ;) My roommate got me some owl earrings and an owl wallet for Christmas… loves them!
One supergreat thing that has happened is I got a new tattoo yesterday! I know you’re not a fan, but I have been anxiously awaiting having Christmas break from school so I could get work done! :D
Wonderful things!
One great thing that’s happened to me lately = realizing just how much my best friends care about me.
I love lists too. My post tonight is list-like. And for the morning. LOL
So happy you got your gift. Some great stuff there. :)
Christmas time is always the hardest to stay normal! look forward to after the busy season, i’ll be getting back into regular blogging then too.. but shh its a surprise
Love the blogger gift! Super cute! :)
O I see the glove was passed to you! treat it well!
I love that you are so positive. I need some of that positivity because I’ve been such a anxiety queen lately with all the health issues with my dad. So I suppose the one great thing is that I have the pleasure of knowing awesome bloggers such as yourself to bring some rays of positivity in my life. And seeing pics of you pups always makes me smile.
My Christmas vacation starts today! I return on 1/3:)

your hair looks awesome, but that’s usual :)
buying treats but making 24 jars and 75 cookies later…that is such a dichotomy, but why i heart ya!
one good thing…i ordered a rebel. dslr world, here i come. if you have tips, sites, advice, etc, holla!
I love lists! However, I think there’s a typo, as #3 should be “I got my hair DID.” You go, girl!
I haven’t really had one “great” thing happen in my life lately, but rather an appreciation for all the little things.
You are one busy girl! Love the hair. The dog bones are adorable ha! One awesome thing that happened to me is Billy started running…it is a big deal to me ha!
I believe it! I wish Marshall liked exercise.
I AM HOME! That is pretty great ;)
i love the week before christmas, it’s full of life & adventure.
OMG they look soooo guilty! Hope you get some rest soon :)
One great thing—I get to see my best friend tomorrow night! Her and hubs are in town to see his brother and I will get to hang out with her for a few hours.
You could use that ribbon to fashion a super-cute dog collar…just sayin’.
Hahahah that’s exactly what Marshall said. Well, he said it would make a great puppy collar. He really wants another pup.
One great thing??? How about 4…all three of my sisters are pregnant and due within 30 days of each other…we have 2 healthy boys and 1 girl due 1-10-11! Babies~Babies~Babies! Did I mention that my DH and I adopted a baby girl on 12-16-10…Yes ma’am! That would make FOUR new additions to our quickly growing family within a month! Blessings~Blessings~Blessings!
Happy Holidays! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year!
Liz
That’s awesome! Congratulations. You’re radiating happiness.
ooh! giving away yogurt?!?! :D
Your life is full of so many wonderful things but thanks for sharing a few tonight. :) Love you girl!!
PS- I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the Chobani Challenge. I just put up my post last night.
Love, love, love that owl ribbon!!! The dog’s leashes would be adorable made out of that!
One great thing? My sis is coming home from Chicago today and staying until tuesday! :)
i feel like i want to be your coworker so i can take home the goodies you bring in
I love clementine season. I’m going to turn into one soon, I can’t stop eating them!!
Most exciting thing to happen in my life lately is coming home. Even though I’ve already been here for a week. I don’t want to leave!!
I just went on an amazing vacation with my hubby’s family. SO great!
I love your lists :D
hmmm…one great thing in my life has been the great Christmas gifts my hubby bought me (we exchanged early so we don’t have to take it on our trip with us) :)
I’m so glad you liked the gifts! Ms. Field’s nibblers are pretty the best things since sliced bread, so I had to include some! :)
Love the cookie jar! I’ve been wanting to make some from my friends this year but I never got around to it :P Next year i guess?
ooh, it’d be fun to get different colored chocolate chips/ other mix-ins for different holidays and seasons to fill in the jars! :D
