Hello Meals and Moves readers! My name is Monica and I write a little blog called Run, Eat, Repeat.
I’ve been blogging for close to three years, but only recently realized the obstacles that are standing in the way of my goals to get faster and lose weight.
Reading Janetha’s blog has actually inspired me to pump up the protein in my diet. This is a challenge for me for two reasons:
1.) I am a carb addict!
2.) I am pescatarian and very rarely eat meat
But, one day Janetha wrote, “You can’t out train a bad diet.” And I realized that no matter how much I run, I am still canceling out all those miles with the crap I’m eating!
I’ve decided to add more protein to my diet and attempt to eat “cleaner”. It’s actually been going great because I do feel better when I eat more satisfying foods instead of binging on boxes of cereal (yes, that’s plural) :(
Despite anything Natalie Dee says, I don’t think Ants are a good protein source
[source.]
So I think the easiest ways for me to add protein in my eats are protein powders, eggs and veggie burgers – with the occasional crab cake thrown in for good measure (a new found love)!
My fave protein powder is this little number. I’m basically obsessed. It’s very pricey, but I look forward to smoothies instead of feeling like I’m making myself drink a “meal replacement shake” now.
I’ve also taken to egg scrambles for breakfast, lunch or dinner. They are good any time of day and a great way for me to pump up the protein.
I am still a “Before” story over at Run, Eat, Repeat, as I’m working on getting to my goal weight and marathon time. But, I feel good and believe I’m getting closer every day.
Thank you so much to Janetha for inviting me to write a guest post and say hello to fellow Meals & Moves enthusiasts. Make it a great day!
Random Fact: I cannot for the life of me spell “protein”. I always put the “I” before “E”.
Q~
1. What easy word do you always get wrong?

Familiar…I always want to write Framiliar!
Occasionally. (Wow, I actually spelled it correctly on the first go).
I liked the post, Monica! It prompted me to check out your website which I like also! Your wedding photo was gorgeous and I LOVE your hair! Seriously, I dye my hair red and still can’t get that “natural” color:)
T
Darn, I really want to dye my hair blonde, but you’re convincing me not too :)
you will be an after in no time! :)
I love that “You can’t out exercise a bad diet” too! It really stuck with me.
I have the same problem with the word “field” …for some reason I want toe E before the I. Feild. Nope.
haha i’m obsessed with carbs too. :)
I had to WORK to get definitely right. And I always want to put an e in ridiculous. (it SHOULD be rediculous in my brain!)
Don’t forget fish and Beans for protein! I am a pecicaterian (spelling?)and I regularly us canned tuna (super cheap and yummy) as well as a vareity of beans (black, pinto, garbonzo, kidney…). I also love greek yogurt as a matter of fact for a double protien punch is using plain fatfree greek yogurt instead of miricle whip. Just add lots of yellow mustard and what ever else you put in your normal tuna salads and it will be delish! Everything I mentioned is waaaaay cheaper then pricey protein powder and since I am on a budget that is how I roll! lol
i always spell vinaigrette wrong!
Guage…instead of gauge.
‘I’ before ‘E’ — except after ‘T’!!!!!!
“recommend”, “labelling”, “raisin”, and “Vaccuum” are all words that I spell wrong nonstop!!!
Protein is a hard one for me too. For some reason though I can TYPE the word “because” correctly. I know how to spell it but my fingers always swap the “u” and the “a”. Drives me crazy!!
Yay for fellow Spirutein lovers!
Great read!
I always spell attachment wrong and have to correct it. I like to put an extra “t” in there after the “h”
I just learned how to spell restaurant correctly without the spell checker about 2 years ago. Now I’m working on Fahrenheit.
