it’s been minute or two, hasn’t it? i have a feeling that is how it is going to be around these parts for the next four weeks. sporadic posts and random giveaways. hope you don’t mind!
i am pretty sure it’s time for a highlights post. yep. ready? let’s go!
friday night i did the max cardio insanity DVD while marshall made dinner for us. he even took photos of the whole process!
upside down ingredients? silly boy.
that was his plate. not mine. but i had my share after the workout :)
after dinner we went to j5’s birthday party.
the theme was ghetto fab/white trash/who the hell knows. so i wore a zebra tank and some ugly jewelry and called it good!
photos from the night in 3, 2, 1 GO!

breakfast=egg white scramble with mozzarella + muesli with almond milk. and a side of real simple. ![]()

![]()
everything’s better with ketchup.![]()
there they are again. raisins. allie gets full credit for converting me with her alliebars. that is the first raisin i learned to love!
i am so behind on my magazine reading!
saturday was work-on-the-house-day. marshall and his friends installed our windows! and i got to work on puttying the walls and prep them for painting.
the tile is coming along nicely!

penelope and randy did their fair share of helping..

yum.
after a long, long, LONG day at the house, we went to marshall’s, cleaned up and then went to jason’s deli for dinner. i always get the salad bar.
with a side of chicken, but i didn’t eat much of it because it was too salty. i don’t like salty stuff :(
lots of veggies topped with cottage cheese, hummus and a new beany salad of sorts.
i loved the bean & edamame salad. never tried that one! it was good.
also new-to-me was this amazing organic seedy cracker! great addition to the salad bar.
i <3 free ice cream.
saturday night we took the pups on a 1 hour 30 minute walk around downtown salt lake city / liberty park.
sunday.
happy father’s day! we thought it would be fun to take marshall’s dad to brunch. it was me, marshall, his dad & stepmom and stacie, marshall’s step sis.
we went to the red rooster waffle company because marshall & i had had a delightful experience there before.
well. not today. we waited an hour and a half (!!!!!) for our food. not cool. not cool AT ALL. we were tempted to leave but it was a pay-before-you-eat type of place. hmph.
i drank lots of coffee.
and eventually our food came. ugh. it took so long that i got to the beyond hungry point. hate that.
i got an egg white omelet with spinach, mushrooms & asiago. swapped the potatoes for fruit.
marshall’s waffle looked glorious! i snagged a couple bites.
marshall’s dad got the german pancake, which is ironic because i was just talking about how i used to eat these as a kid!
giant!
after our 2 hour long breakfast ordeal, marshall and i tortured ourselves by going to IKEA, home depot and lowes. sigh. shopping for bathroom vanities is a pain in the butt.
we ended up getting this combo for one of the bathrooms:
vanity~
my brother will be doing tile countertops on top of this vanity. we got the matching mirror cabinet~
cute!
however, we are still on the hunt for a sweet 48” bathroom vanity for the master bathroom. soo.. if anyone knows where we can pick one up, let me know!
then it was up to my parents’ house for more father’s day fun! i hadn’t seen my parents in almost two weeks because they have been in costa rica! phew, i am SO glad they are back!!
dinner was kept simple. grilling!
chicken, filet mignon & halibut:
a little of each item from the grill!
dessert was a slice of marie callendar’s sugar free razzleberry pie:
$hot.
delicious.
bummer, the father’s day photos of my dad are on my mom’s camera! fat chance i ever get those from her ;) but i love you dad!
this post has been long.
i am sleepy.
time for bed!
oh. i forgot. the giveaway winner! it’s official, judging from popular vote, the favorite animal among bloggers is the dog. although some answers made me laugh.. like marmot or three toed sloth! such random favorite animals.
my favorite is dogs.. but i love owls as well.

PEACE OUT.
Qs~
1. did you do anything fun for father’s day? what didja do?
2. how long are you willing to wait for your food at a restaurant before you leave and/or complain to the manager? we knew it was busy due to father’s day so we were understanding about our 90 minute wait. but then people who had ordered after us started getting their food BEFORE us so marshall went to talk to the owner. turns out, two employees called in sick and he was short staffed. even though it sucked majorly for us to wait, we were real understanding because i am sure it sucked even more majorly for the owner!
monday tomorrow!

Jason’s Deli has the best salad bar! And I always take about 10 of those seedy crackers to stash in my purse (shhh, don’t tell anyone. ;-))
Also, your house looks great!
1. For Father’s Day I baked my daddy a cake, and then went to the in-laws for a BBQ. Yummy summer things.
2. I’m unfortunately really impatient at restaurants. I think 30 minutes is getting long, but if it goes over an hour – I think I might say something.
Wow Janetha Bean, you look hawt!! Why is it that the girls at the trailer party looks totes normal to me?! ;-)
Love the photos of Builder Bob aka Marshall- he’s armed and dangerous! Holy mother on the german pancake and the BBQ!
Miss you! Hugs to Mama Bean and Marshall and the baby beans (canine, ya know!)
i complain immediately it it’s past the time the hostess tells me. i get kinda bitchy and somehow after i complain, we’re always the next to sit :)
i LOVE jason’s deli. did you know they give you a “to go” box too? well my sister said they dont really but they gave me one!! it was pretty much $7.99 for lunch AND dinner.
Ohhhhh, such a long beautiful post.
on mothers day we waited an hour for our food, we spoke to the manager & hello discount.
Holy salad bar, I’m pretty sure this is an american thing. I’m yet to find one here (down under)
I also hate salt, it makes me mad when places salt things. it should be personal choice.
I love renovation pictures, keep them coming.
Your house is going to look amazing. I can’t wait to see some final pictures.
I love your dress! Where did you get it so I can copy you?
90 minute wait?! I would die! It would depend on how good the food is. :)
gaurentee that your parents tried and possibly brought home some Cafe Britt (my familys company!!) from costa rica! yay! but i am also POSITVE that they had an amazing time thats for sure!!!
I love all of your food here…everything really is better with ketchup!!! i think I want to get that all organic one…I am trying to CUT DOWN on the amount of SF products I have
Jasons deli salad bar looks amazing!! i hate when the meat is salty though blehh
don’t think I didn’t notice that in your party pics, you are drinking a kombucha trilogy :) hehe i caught you!
how amazing is the max cardio?!?! kills me everytime…I really think its such an amazing workout!!!
my mom was in FL visitng her father, me and my bro took my dad to lunch! it was lovely :)
I am willing to wait up to an hour if the food is THAT good !
My, quite an amazing weekend you had girl! I love how your weekends always seem to be packed with parties, BBQ’s, Family Dinners…etc. You make living life so exciting!
The F-Day Brunch looked like it was so nice despite the hour wait! Rough!
And there is no better way to end a weekend then with a grilled dinner. Holy goodness, that halibut is gigantic!!!! :)
Okay, have a fantastic day sweetie!
we had reservations for 6:30 one time and didn’t get seated till 8:30pm! It was ridiculous…..but we did score some free wine and food. I requested it for sure!!
Both Fathers were out of town this weekend so we chilled. Lots of phone calls. Miss them!
We know your life is crazy don’t feel obligated to post every day. We love ya!
Ahhhh I love the party theme! And the red cup on the preggo belly is just fabulous!
Marshalls fam is so cutw and you know he is going to be cute when he gets older so score for that!
I hate when food takes forever, I usually load up on water or whatever I’m drinking and full by the time food comes out, not cool.
I really like Jason’s Deli, especially the free ice cream.
I will say something if my meal or being sat takes a really long time, but usually in a nice way.
Looks like you had a fun weekend! Love all those fun party pics :P
Your bathroom is going to look great!
And I love your dress in the grilling pic :D
Didn’t do anything fun for father’s day- I’m seeing my dad next week though!
And I think I would complain after a HOUR, let along 90 minutes! But it seems like it was a good reason for you guys, so nice you were understanding :)
xo
Kris
LOVE Jason’s Deli! I’ve only ever ordered take-out. I usually get the turkey reuben and vegetable soup……..sooooooooo GOOD!! :)
Looks like a fun weekend!! I spent the entire day with both of my parents (and my dog who they 100% consider their granddogchild hehe) at our beach house then treated them both to a fancy dinner :)
1. The Seattle LiveStrong Challenge was in Seattle yesterday, I volunteered at an aid station on the Century bike ride. For all the races that I run, I have yet to volunteer at a race but the races just wouldn’t happen without volunteers so I figured it was high time that I gave back. It poured down rain yesterday but was still a good time.
2. That’s a tough one, if the restaurant is apologetic or cool about it I might wait for awhile but if they cop an attitude I’m out of there.
I remember when I was little it always felt like forever for the food to come at restaurants! Now its not so bad, lol. One time my mom and I picked my dad up for a surprise at his lunch break and we went to Chili’s… but the waitress forgot to put our order in and we had to wait so long for our food that my dad had to leave to go back to work before it came! Ridiculous.
I made my papa cookies x x
Wow, an hour and a half! YIKES! The food looked like it was worth it though, and at least you had coffee!! Randy and Penelope looked like pretty good helpers!! :)
We met my parents in Lincoln which is kind of a meeting point for us and had lunch. It poured the entire day. and night. and today. and the last week. and we have major flooding. it’s just not good at all. Anyway, since I am the only child with a real job, I paid for lunch. My dad was shocked. All 3 of us kids have been in college the last 3 years, so I’m sure it was a nice change for them!
Very clever of Marshall to put all of the ingredients upside down! haha
Real quick–you arms are lookin smashing! All those isolation exercises and everything else you are doing is WORKING! :)
Dang 90 minutes waiting for your food? I’d be starved! I think 30 mins is long enough especially for breakfast food.
Your new pad is looking so good! I’m loving the floors!! What kind of stone is that ? Also, loving that dress you wore on Father’s Day. I need one!! ;)
Didn’t really do anything to crazy fun on Father’s Day. Since the 19th was our annaversary, I didn’t feel like meal planning, shopping etc, so we ended up ordering Greek food from a local place and just enjoying the afternoon. I’ve never seen a pic of your Dad on your blog… Maybe I need to search old posts ? So curious what he looks like ;)
The longest I’ve ever waited for food was about an hour… AND it was breakfast ?! What gives. We kept drinking coffee and chatting… before I knew it, I’d had waaaaaay too much coffee and not even that hungry after my 4274632942 cups LOL! We didn’t want to compain bc I’m always afraid of people spitting (or worse?!) in my food. After we got our food, I ask what was up in the kitchen and the waiter said he was the only one working the whole place and the kitchen was short staffed… BUMMER. It was the 3 hours breakfast… No Boom!
I love that you’re drinking kombucha instead of beer. You are the embodiment of health :)
An hour and a half is NOT acceptable. I would have been irked.
hahahaha i love everybody with their beers and you with your kombucha :)
My husband absolutely hates waiting and most times if there is a wait, we won’t even bother to stay.
Looks like you had a great weekend though – love how your kitchen floor is turning out – I hate my kitchen – its circa 1970’s and it has mushroom contact paper that for the life of me I cannot remove!
I am going to be stealing one of your workouts today!
Haha. Don’t feel bad for not posting. You’re getting married! It’s going to be a slammed couple of weeks.
I love that your white trash drink of choice is Kombucha. Your outfit isn’t even really trashy. You look smokin’ and I bet your going to look amazing on the big day!
haha i love marsh’s classic foodie shot of the pasta mid scoopage. it makes it so like this is my pasta and you better drool over it
can i have some of that ice cream please? now.
Love that dress you have on while grilling- so cute!! I also love the picture of you pouring the ketchup on your eggs- its perfect- right as you were pouring it on :)
For Father’s day I went home & spent the weekend with my dad, I had to leave early on Sunday though because Craig had to catch a flight.
The longest I will wait is an hour- but it also depends on the restaurant. Breakfast places should be quick. If there are appetizers, salads, drinks, etc..then I’m willing to wait even longer..like an hour & a half.
i was shooting a movie in san fran all day father’s day, then traveling back, but i did get to talk to both my dad and my daddy-in-law in the morning. looks like you’ve been uber busy; glad to see the house coming along! what an exciting time for you!
I am planning to try the Insanity dvd after my marathon this weekend…well not like the day after, but you know soon there after to see if mixing up my training will finally get me your abs!
Love that top. Animal print all the way! And I’m ALWAYS behind on magazine reading. Like by at least a month. I need to stop subscribing to multiple fitness mags… they’re seriously all the same. Bah. Definitely considering picking myself up a Real Simple to check out though. Never read em before but you’ve mentioned it often enough that I feel like it just NEEDS to happen.
I can’t believe your Dad day breakfast took so long. I would have been beyond peeved. Especially for breakfast food, how long does it take to make eggs and waffles now REALLY. That demands a free meal! Though you’re right… those kinds of things are much more to be expected on a holiday like that. Still too bad th0ugh!
Keep on keeping on with those home renos, I can’t wait to see it once everything’s completely DONE. I’ll bet it’s going to be amaaaaazing.
house pics look great…it’s coming along! nice vanity! I know the choices are a dizzying array on stuff like that and you’re likely makng yourself nuts! i know i would be!
seedy cracker. I laughed at that pic. Because Dude. I just created my own recipe. Mary’s Crakers knockoffs.
Waiting in a restaurant..back in the day, i could wait all night for food. But not for liquor! Bring it asap or i was NOT a happy camper LOL
xo
1. YAY for opening up to raisins!!! I used to hate them too, but now I love them. I think it just takes people a while to learn to like them, I mean they ARE a dried fruit after all, and dried fruit is crazy delicious.
2. You look stunning in that grill photo!! Something about the combo of the pretty dress and meat cooking ;)
3. My dad works every Sunday (your dad is a lawyer too, isn’t he? I’m sure this is a common with them :P ) So I just called him and we chatted about dogs – he’s got a really cute boxer/bull mastiff.
4. I turn into a cranky bitch when I’m hungry. I’ve gotten up and left before. I complain. And I usually don’t tip. Blame the drop in blood sugar ;)
OMG…I just had to pop in and say how AWESOME Lindsay looked at that party. LMAO….Oh man. I love you girls. Anywho…back to catching up on your blogness. Loves.
Speaking of Father’s Day.. I got my low blood sugar, taste for food, and low tolerance for certain things from my daddy. Growing up, my brother, mom and I got used to bowing our heads every time we went out to dinner because my dad would embarrass us so much regarding bad service, cold food, long waits, bad food, etc by complaining, asking for the manager, sending stuff back, walking out, ETC. I obviously grew to appreciate it though, because now I do similar things. DEfinitely not that extent though. So yeah, although I am patient for some things, (a good wait for good food in a good restaurant is okay, being a cook) but after too long, I’d just go somewhere else. Especially if you’re hungry, like Susan said! Low blood sugar sucks.
You do look beautiful pre-wedding Janetha! and that breakfast of french press, eggs and muesli. YUM YUM YUM.
