spring training giveaway!

i didn’t mean for it to be radio silence here on the blog… but i have been hit HARD with a sinus infection. i had always heard that it’s harder to be sick when you are pregnant, and now i am living proof. this sickness is kicking my ass and blogging has been the least of my concerns.

what sucks is i have plenty to do in order to prepare for the baby who will be arriving in about three months.. so it’s frustrating to watch all my nights and weekends slip away as i sleep this sickness out of me. hopefully i will be well soon and can get back to normal life—or pregnant normal life, since that’s still not quite normal life!

anyway, i have had this giveaway in the pipeline for a bit now, and i thought i would pop in and offer it up since i have nothing coherent to ramble about. luckily the doc has approved me to take sudafed, mucinex, and benadryl.. but it’s all leaving me a little hazy!

i recently received the most awesome delivery from the big G cereal team at general mills AKA the greatest cereal company on the planet. they sent their spring training package which was filled with all sorts of good-for-you goodies.

Meals & Moves NVPG giveaway

the bundle came in an awesome reusable tote and was packed with three kinds of nature valley protein granola, protein bars, breakfast biscuits, breakfast shakes, chia seeds, cacao nibs, and delicious dried fruits and nuts.

the spring training package also came with a plethora of recipes with ways to use the products, and a bunch of tips to help you get healthy this spring.

in addition to the spring training bundle, they also sent a variety of my favorite cereals, including kix, golden grahams, honey nut cheerios, and even some booberry for marshall! they also sent a few cereal t-shirts.. yes, they KNOW what a cereal monster i am! i was flattered by the fact that they knew how cereal crazed i really am. it’s not often that a company will reach out to a blogger and know lots about them. it’s usually a blind pitch to see if they will bite… but general mills knew all about my passion for cereal and my hatred for lucky charms. they also congratulated me on my pregnancy, which has come complete with lots of cereal cravings. color me impressed. i have been fueling myself with golden grahams every morning this week.

i was so impressed by their generosity and thoughtfulness that i decided i wanted to share how great they are with all of you and pass on the love. general mills has offered up a spring training package to one lucky reader—this is open to the USA and canada.

This would be my fiancé’s dream package. He loves those nature valley protein granola bars and is a total cereal junkie (though I would hog the Golden Grahams for myself).

I’m getting healthy by hiking, pilates and some weight training. My wedding is next spring, have already ordered the dress and am hoping for minimal alterations :)

I have been browsing on-line more than 3 hours nowadays, yet I
by no means discovered any attention-grabbing
article like yours. It’s pretty worth sufficient for me.
Personally, if all site owners and bloggers made good content material as you
probably did, the web will likely be much more helpful than ever
before.

Nancy A. May 17, 2014 at 3:26 am

So sorry you aren’t feeling well! Especially not good while pregnant! Take care of yourself!! I have gotten up off the couch and started walking and moving more, in general throughout the day. Trying to eat better and feel better. After that cold winter of sitting and being lethargic, this feels really good. I could use this gift to help me along the way!!!

Lanie May 17, 2014 at 3:47 am

I’m training for 2 races this summer and also adding more produce to my diet now that it’s back in season!

Natalie Neville May 17, 2014 at 4:14 am

hope you feel 100% better very soon, j!!! all the best!
thanks for the giveaway. as the older, canadian version of the cereal fanatic that you are, i am thrilled with this giveaway – yea!
this month, i am participating in my yoga studio’s 30 day challenge: yogaing but also focussing on taking yoga OFF the mat and into real life. (i mean the philosophies, not doing random downdogs on the sidewalk!).

Erica May 17, 2014 at 4:37 am

I’m continuing to train as per usual, but am trying to eat a bit cleaner! I totally want to try that granola. Hope you feel better <3 <3

Joy May 17, 2014 at 4:43 am

I’m getting healthier this spring by resting my stupid hip (sigh starting on week 13 of crutches) BUT Wednesday I get to start PT soooo things are looking up!

Lisa B May 17, 2014 at 4:57 am

hi, I think I’ll get healthier this spring just by walking more. With the cold winter we had, I just hibernated but now that the flowers are out I will go on walks even though it’s by myself which I did last week! For me, it’s small steps so I was proud of myself! And I do love cereal and would like to win this basket!

Danielle @ It's a Harleyyy Life May 17, 2014 at 5:20 am

eating what I want… in moderation! (:

Melissa May 17, 2014 at 5:31 am

drinking more green smoothies–i loooove them

Katie @ Talk Less, Say More May 17, 2014 at 5:34 am

I hope you feel better soon, lady! You must be feeling fine for BLEND! :)

Anyway, I’m getting healthier this spring by changing up my workouts. I started CrossFit earlier this week and feel like I’m no longer going through the motions on my cross-training/strength days at the gym. It’s been really nice and I know will pay off in the long run.

Susie @ SuzLyfe May 17, 2014 at 5:58 am

I am resting more because it is necessary! I have had so many injuries so far this year, and while I know it wasn’t because I wasn’t taking rest days, I just need to be extra cautious.

Susie @ SuzLyfe May 17, 2014 at 5:59 am

I also wrote on NV’s FB page!

Tracy May 17, 2014 at 6:02 am

I am finally making weight training a regular part of my fitness training. I already feel stronger and my body looks more toned. It is hard for me to do less cardio but I can see the results.
