hey guys! FRIDAY! i have a lot going on today and tonight since i have my big christmas party tomorrow. i also have to get some last minute shopping done.. chances are, you might to. i want to give you one last gift idea!
it is my pleasure to spotlight a special company—if you are working on any last minute gifts, now is your chance to get your hands on some quality homemade goods.
this gift spotlight is very unique because it actually is the company of a fellow blogger—that is not something you see every day!
i am good blog friends with nicole culver of making good choices. her blog offers up lots of healthy recipes and she even specializes in health coaching. i first started reading her blog when she was involved in the great fundraising act.
nicole has a bakery business called pure bliss eats. i am pretty envious because i have always wanted a business of my own—i would like a restaurant or a coffee shop!
a few fun facts about the company:
- all their is considered “clean” eating. there is no “junk” in their foods like HFCS or funny things you can’t pronounce!
- the chocolate they use is very high quality chocolate and is gluten, soy, dairy & nut free!
- their muffins are in the shape of muffin tops & mini loaves!
- their granola & chocolate balls do not contain any gluten!
- each item is handcrafted with lots of love! :)
a little bit about pure bliss eats, as told by nicole:
Pure Bliss Eats started all with my love for being in the kitchen. My muffins & granola started long before I was an actual company and started really because of my husband. Before I had any idea that I would own a healthy online bakery, I had a personal challenge of getting my husband to eat breakfast. He wouldn’t eat until lunch time because he wasn’t “hungry” in the morning. At the time he also was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and kept losing weight (even though most people typically gain weight with hypothyroidism.) I wanted to come up with a healthy way for him to actually want to eat breakfast. I started with healthier muffins and granolas that my husband and I would eat and then I’d bring leftovers into work to share with my colleagues (I was a elementary school teacher!). I started to realize that I had a really good thing going. That’s just the beginning of the story, but you can read more about it on our site or on my blog. Our story really is still at the start right now and I have big dreams!
that is such an inspiring start-up story! big props to nicole for helping out her husband AND living out her dreams.
a bit about the products available at pure bliss eats, again.. as told by nicole:
Pure Bliss Eats sells healthy granolas, muffins, granola bars & chocolate balls. All our ingredients are hand picked and we use only the best out there! All our products are whole grain, no white flour, white sugar, eggs, butter or milk. Our muffins are made with spelt flour, which has a higher protein content and is easier to digest then whole wheat flour. Our granola is sweetened with only natural sweeteners like honey. We use a variety of organic ingredients, like organic spelt flour, organic puffed millet and gluten free oats. Our products are guaranteed to make you feel great while tasting delicious! Clean, healthy & delicious!
if you have a special diet, you will be interested to know that pure bliss eats’ muffins and chocolate balls are vegan. their granola & granola bars are not considered vegan because they use honey in them, but they have no other animal products. while their granola & chocolate balls are free of gluten containing ingredients, they do use a facility that uses gluten and there may be cross contamination.

I would want to start a restaurant too!! Fusion, probably. :)
I’d love to a coffee and cookie shop — great coffee and classic chocolate chip cookies :)
I would love to get a degree in nutrition and start a business specializing in helping people eat healthy.
Chocolate gingerbread granola is a great idea. One I just may have to steal and experiment with this weekend.
Nicole, this is so exciting for you!
I love to expand my photography business more…and to do more with my blog…and to cook more…I have so many business ideas. Maybe one day I will get them all going :)
I won’t be the only one to say this, but I would most definitely start a baking business. I’m a huge baker, and I have a little Martha Stewart recipe-fest every Christmas :)
I’d love to own a book shop with a little attached cafe. That way I can dabble in baking (or hire someone who really knows what they’re doing!) and spend most of my day talking about books/reading and organizing things – probably my two favorite things in the world!
A bookstore + cafe combined.
When I win the lottery, I’m going to open a doggy retirement home.
We’re going to take in old dogs that shelters would otherwise euthanize and let them live out their lives running around, playing, snoozing, and cuddling with people. I’m going to hire all my friends to work there. They will all be loved!
Hmmmmm…I work in a coffee shop now & while it’s fun, I don’t think I’d want that as a business. I think a B&B, ala the Dragonfly (from Gilmore Girls) would be fun!
When I was in school I always wanted to open my own music venue where local musicians had a place to showcase their tunes and give people a cool place to hang out aside from a bar.
i would totally do a café for dog lovers! i would have paninis, desserts, pastries (all whole grain and healthy!) and customers can bring their dogs too as long as they don’t cause any problems of course ;)
Space Cakes.
Buahahaha.
I think I would have to go with a Animal shelter. I have ALWAYS wanted my own rescue!
i, too, would love to open a coffee shop and/or a restaurant! coffee and food – my two favorite things! :)
Definitely some sort of yummy treats. And probably involving chocolate. :-)
The granola sounds fab.
My co would specialize in organizing homes. Not sure what id name it. :)
I would love to start my own consulting company as a dietitian.
I would love to have some sort of old-fashioned “soda fountain” type of place where you could come in and order protein shakes, healthy smoothies, fro-yo, etc.
I would love to open a little coffee/sandwich/bakery. Everything would be wholesome and organic, healthy, but not necessarily “light.”
Or, I’d like to open the ultimate drunk food place on a college campus. Think bacon pancakes, chili cheese fries, pizza, and ice cream!
SO hope I win! Need to sample this before BLEND!!
If I could, I’d start ANY business with Travis. Would love to spend all day with him. Wouldn’t really care what we did.
oh. oh. oh. totally know the answer to this – I’ve always dreamed of having my own lunch business that individuals subscribe to – that delivers their lunch each day to work for them so they don’t have to think about it. business would completely factor in preferences, special diets, holidays, seasons and the occasional whimsical note or joke – just like mom. would call it ‘my lunch bag’.
though I gotta say – the doggie retirement home is a pretty awesome idea :)
Card making and gift wrapping company! I don’t have a name though :P
Definitely my own supplement/nutrition company; some R&D as well, and maybe my own marketing branch dealing with health related products (skin care included); I’d love to formulate
Yum! I don’t think I could ever handle having my own business (math and I aren’t exactly friends. :p), but if I did, it would probably be a simple little coffee shop. :)
i’d start a personal training company! We could do group classes and bodyrock and dance like mad. I would call it Leaping Lizards!
People keep telling me I should sell my peanut butter, and I’ve started looking into what all that would entail, and there are a TON of crazy regulations that have to be in place but I’m working on it. ;)
I would have my own gift basket and gift wrapping place called:
“Wrap it up, yo!” Ok, maybe I would leave out the yo part
Would LOVE to try either one of those but Really the PB Chocolate one.
You know what my business is – anything to do with photography!!!
ahhh that gingerbread granola sounds incredible! i would start a time management/planning business. i love organizing schedules. people could come to me with a timeline and their commitments and i would devise a personalized calendar for them. sometimes motivation needs to be external :)
I liked this company on FB. I am definitely interested in ordering after the first of the year!!
Awww I love Nicole and her blog!! :) If I were to own a business, it would definitely be a professional organizing business! My brain is fried from this long week, so I’m not even sure what I’d name it! ;) Thanks for the giveaway!!
I have always wanted to have a little coffee shop/cafe. I am still trying to think of a way to make it unique, but I’m thinking of automated kiosks for ordering so people can get exactly what they want!
hmmm…my sister and I always talk about our dreams of opening a cupcake shop!
Natural/organic grocery store or co-op.
I briefly thought I’d want to open a restaurant some day, but then remembered all that it entailed (I’m a longtime veteran of the food service industry) and thought better of it :P
I think I’d do a sandwich shop/bakery/cafe. Freshly baked bread and rolls, tasty, healthy, and fresh sandwich fix-ins, and freshly brewed coffee! The seating would be couches and comfy chairs and fun stuff like that. I love this question–it is igniting my imagination!
I would want to start my own hand bag collection called “Cordelias Closet”
It would undoubtedly be a gourmet mini-cupcake business. I know this is not terribly original, but I just LOVE LOVE mini cupcakes- baking, decorating, picking out cute little papers. Maybe mini muffins too… but frosting cupcakes is really my favorite part!
Thanks for letting me know about Pure Bliss! I’d love to try their granola. I would love to run my own business as a personal chef specializing in healthy meals. I’d visit people’s home and cook enough meals for the week to stock in their freezer. What would it be called? Haven’t gotten there yet!
A muffin shop would be cool
I would start a gym for kids
I’d love to open a health spa or a bakery!
Although the window business is great… I’d have to say concert venue.
My business would specialize in family fun. I live in the midwest and in the winter, my area is slim pickings for indoor family fun. I would have a huge complex with a swimming pool, bounce houses, track ,basketball court, etc. And a food court with healthy food. Let’s get people up and moving!
Mmm… Muffin Of The Month Club. Now there is a club I wanna be in. Good thinking, Nicole!
you win! the peanut butter granola. use my contact form on my page to send me your mailing address :)
I would like to start a running club/business (somehow make money out of running with people and encouraging them to exercise). I have no idea what I would name it! It’s certainly just a pipe dream at this point in time.
i would definitely start a bakery. my dream. I’d call it the Lean Green Bean as well :)
I got into beading last year so I would do some beaded products!
I would be restaurant ;)
I used to want a bakery, but now I don’t want my OWN business. I want my husband to have HIS business! He wants his own restaurant/bar BAD, and I want him to have it. He has been a chef for 6 years and worked in a kitchen for 15 years and he is ready for his own place!!! I can’t share the name though because we WILL have it in the next 5 years :)
an organic little diner:)
I would open a juice bar here in my town! I think it would do great!
