it’s labor day! no labor for me! i wonder why it is called labor day. i think i will google that after publishing this.
anyway, since i have the day off and have a lot of stuff on my camera card, i thought i would post some totally random stuff. sound good?
#1: i bought three things at swiss days.
i told you i would show you—if i don’t do it now, i never will. right lindsay?
item one: a giant iron spider! i think it is supposed to be a halloween decoration, but he is pretty cute so i think he will hang out in our yard year round. and who knows.. maybe he will scare away the real spiders??
item two: wassail scented oil.
wassail smells so good! this oil goes in a scentsy wax warmer and is way more potent than the wax you typically put in these warmers.
item three: owl art made from leaves.
this is my favorite! it was handmade from pressed leaves.. isn’t it unique? i love it.
#2: my dogs are cute.
yeah.. that’s about it for #2.
#3: for not having a trader joe’s in utah, i sure use a lot of their products every single day.

#4: i finally found a new purse.
i have been searching for a new purse for months now! my current purse strap keeps breaking and my purse falls on the ground constantly. i refused to get rid of it until i found a purse with the right specifications.
specifications, you ask? yes. i am a weird one. it has to have the handle strap to carry up on my shoulder when i want to…
and the sling strap to carry messenger style when i want to..
this purse has both straps, is basic black and was cheap. i got it at urban outfitters, FYI.
#5: i still don’t like zevia.
i won a zevia giveaway once and tried it and hated it. i just don’t like the taste of stevia i guess. i had a free coupon for zevia from my HLS swag bag so i thought i would give the grapefruit flavor a try. blech. no bueno. at least it was free.
#6: i have officially lost my husband to fantasy football.
well, to football in general, actually. yesterday he made sure to inform me that it was the last football-less sunday until february. don’t worry, marshall, i was already well aware of the fact. sigh.
oh, and side note: the only way we can connect to the internet is by plugging into a cable in the spare room. that explains the photo above. any wireless router geniuses want to help us figure out how to get the internet to work??? we will pay you in dog kisses.

I have NUMEROUS purses. My current favourite is a tote style one long strap /w many compartments. I like it b/c the strap is long and I can wear it across my body /e the purse covering my butt….if that makes sense :) lol
I don’t care for football, never have, never will…neither does Colin = SCORE!!! lol I do however LOVE “real” football AKA SOCCER!!!

I was never a fan of football season. It’s probably a side effect of all the rainy Tuesday and Thursday nights I spent cheering for a team that didn’t win a single came. Why did I join cheerleading again? :P
I was never big on purses. I find that if I break it down, I never need to carry more than I can fit in a small clutch.

I”m currently debating on which purse to use next…I like something I can put over my shoulder, but also hold in my hand and it has to have compartments for random stuff (read: crap).
I LOVE football season! I love college and NFL – Hank and/or Faith singing the Monday night football song is music to my ears! And the funny thing is, I don’t sit and avidly watch the game. I just like knowing it’s on and hearing the games. Same with Nascar – I watch it intermitenly but mainly like it on and hearing the cars. I guess it’s comforting to me because it reminds me of when I was a kid and my Dad always had it on.
I must have a handle AND a strap. I saved my birthday/Christmas money for years and bought a Louis Vuitton – I have a thing about designer purses (yeah, I’ve got champagne taste on a beer budget concerning purses!) What’s odd is that I could care less about designer stuff except for a purse!

Football season… I’m not a diehard, but I like watching Boise State and Auburn play. Since my husband has to work, I end up narrating the games for him via text, and I’m NOT the best at knowing all the technical terms!

Yes your dogs are cute! I have a bassett hound who is the most personable dog in town. He loves to play, hang out with grownups and then sleep.
I’m not big on football season. I don’t really understand the whole point of the game and I have to say it’s way too long.
I love the new purse. I live in. NYC and I feel like my purse is my car. I carry all that I need for the day and emergencies. I definitely look for bags that are big, pretty and comfortavble to carry multiple things.

I’m a purse hoarder. I have tons of cheap ones and very few nice ones. I like them to be big but still somewhat structured.

I bought some stevia sweetener last night and I couldn’t agree more with you… BLECH. I have tried the powdered stevia extract before and thought maybe the more processed versions (that look like crystals instead of powder) would be better but… no. I cannot drink it.

i also hated zevia, i tried it with my hls coup and thought it was disgusting. super sweet, too much chemically aftertaste barf. i can’t get into football, i just don’t like it at all! however, ice hockey is another story, i’ll watch it all.winter.long. my purse has a strap that is detachable so i can have it as a handbag or messenger style. i’m in love with it. it’s also my only purse and is a gray-khaki color!

I love college football – and love to visit Jason’s family in Missouri every Thanksgiving – they are diehard Mizzou fans, and all the guys were football players there. Jason likes football but is not crazy about it… I lose him to other things, computer and music related. He could probably help you with the internet from HERE, if he weren’t at band practice right now! :D

Yep… I’m losing my fiancee to football now too. NFL, College and our CFL up in Canada – although CFL season started weeks and weeks ago. I’m TRYING to like it… but other than our home town team its hard!
I feel like I would like football if I knew what was going on!
And, purses. I’m still looking for a VERY BASIC black/brown/dark green leather looking one that still looks classy. So far it’s a fail and I just throw everything into canvas-y bags or my backpack.
I have 3-4 purses I rotate through depending on the outfit, occasion, etc – I hate the one I use the most frequently though because it doesn’t zip on the top so things are constantly falling out!!
Random: I saw an owl mug at Pier 1 yesterday and wanted to buy it for you.

Purses are so hard to shop for! I’ve had a big black one for three years and it’s my only purse. I need to get some other options but nothing seems right. I think those little crossbody ones are cute though.

My husband does fantasy soccer and in some ways it’s worse! The season runs from August to June!! However, the games are typically on in the morning, so it doesn’t interfere too much.
My purse needs to be as big as possible. I always have a ton of crap in it! I don’t really wear purses so much as I wear bags… huge, huge bags!

I am all about the big purses, preferably with a long strap so I can wear on my shoulder or messenger style. I like to be able to fit a baby (or fur baby) in my purse along with random other things like chop sticks, lip balm, bottled water and snacks. I long for the day a tv show announcer comes up to me on the street asking for a specific item because I will probably have it in there.

I’m very picky about my purses, and actually had a similar experience to yours. I was carrying a bag with a broken strap for several months, and refused to buy one that was only “sub-par” because, well, it would have been a waste of money if it wasn’t *perfect*. I pinned the strap with safety pins (so classy!), and it seemed to do the trick. Well, I went out on a date with a very attractive guy one night, and got up to use the restroom in the (very fancy) restaurant. As I lifted my bag to my shoulder, the strap came unpinned, and everything spilled onto the floor. Everything. Tampons, lipstick, half eaten Luna bar and other randomness. It was completely humiliating. Definitely learned my lesson that night. Ha! Glad you found a new one you love!
Don’t even get me started on football season! Thankfully, I have a non-sports watching husband! Football though, to me, is the most annoying sport on this planet. Just the sound of the “duh duh duh duhhhhh…” makes me cringe. Hate is a strong word and that’s exactly how I feel about it! ;)

2. I can’t stand Zevia, but my husband loves it! I love stevia, though. I think it’s non-sugar sweeteners in any soda that gets me.

Shane is straight up ADDICTED to Diet Dr. Pepper. So one time I brought home a 6 pack of Dr. Zevia for him. But it was so horrible that he couldn’t even finish a can. It became a running joke in our house to offer our guests a can as a prank. NO one liked it. lol

I’m not a huge fan of football. I will watch the occasional Eagles game with my fiance. I would like to see one in person. I went to one a long time ago but it was just a preseason game. I want to go to a real game! :)
I carry a Coach bag that I bought for cheap at the outlet store. I don’t buy purses too often but when I do they are usually from the Coach outlet.

I am undecided (still) on how I feel about Fantasy Football. Sometimes it’s nice that my DH is occupied and has so much fun without making me crazy. But sometimes, like the fact that my TV is not really mine from now until Feb, the hobby itself makes me crazy. Ahh well.
I am the same way about purses. Messenger style is a must, and it must zip close (or at least have a full flap panel over the top).
I HATE football season. My beau is in 3 fantasy leagues and it is such a drag! But I don’t get to watch what I want on tv…which then makes me more productive…so yay to that I guess.

I actually LOVE football season. My hubs was in Afghanistan last year for it so I am pretty stoked to have my football buddy back this year! It’s all football, all the time in our house :) It helps when I beat him at fantasy football too ;)

I can’t bear to watch football; too violent for me and I have a hard time seeing people get hurt. That said, “Go, Patriots!” :-)

I have three I go between right now, but I’m on the lookout for the “perfect purse.” It needs to have ample pockets and pouches to keep me organized, must have a zip-close top to keep everything contained, and I prefer handle straps only; can’t stand sling straps. :-) It also needs to be pretty, or at least very attractive.

My husband lovingly told me this past weekend that he will see me in February…and that he loves me more than basketball?!? That’s okay for me since I’m an SEC football fan ;). His FF draft is this Thursday night, so I’m thinking about getting a babysitter for our girls, and having my own girls night!
I am not a fan of football season but I usually just blog or read during the game so it is fine. Why did you have to remind me that we don’t have a TJ’s here…..when you run out of everything, how about we go on a TJ’s specific road trip.
Football season…I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it either. But with Tyler being gone for a lot of it, it won’t really be football season.

I’m kinda meh about football…my husband isn’t really into it (shock!) but he is into Call Of Duty Black Ops, so I lost him to that a long time ago, so I can totally relate! teehee…
I have a pretty simple black leather purse, about 10X15x3, and it has a zippered inner pocket, and an open outer pocket…gotta have those pockets. I don’t know what I will do when this purse dies because it matches everything and holds everything right where I can get to it easily. Long live my purse! :)
