in honor of earth day, nature’s path is giving away a YEAR supply of nature’s path cereal! to enter the year supply giveaway, simply go to their blog and leave a comment telling them what you are doing to leave the earth better than you found it.

i have tried several nature’s path items in the past and talked about them here on my blog. i always love working with the company because they are SUCH down to earth people. they aren’t a huge corporation and they keep what’s important in mind, including the environment.

nature’s path sent me three of their organic products to help me kick off earth day with an organic bang.

these granola bars put quaker to shame. sorry, mister quaker!

IMG_1628

these are chewy, have a ton of various textures and taste a-maz-ing.

IMG_1629

IMG_1616

i am a cereal monster AND a maple monster. it’s a no brainer that i would immediately fall in love with this cereal. and i did.

organic ingredients and nutrition info:

IMG_1620 IMG_1623

to the gluten free crowd: this one’s for you!

IMG_1617

i may have a new favorite cereal, folks.

IMG_1627

all the nature’s path products i have tried, i have loved. it is just an added bonus that they are a stand-up company. nature’s path isn’t only working on helping mother earth with what’s inside their packaging.. but also with the packaging itself! a bit about nature’s path packaging:

The path to sustainability is now paved with recyclable[i], resealable, stand-up cereal bags. The new Eco Pacs offer numerous savings, including:

· 437 tons of paperboard saved per year, which equals about 2,237,440 newspapers!

· 7,464 million BTUs of total energy saved, which equals the energy used by over 24,965 100W light bulbs for 1 year!

· 1,389,323 lbs of greenhouse gases saved, which is like taking 225 cars off the road for 1 year!

· 826,542 gallons of wastewater saved, which equals about 1.5 Olympic swimming pools!

· 248,383 lbs of solid waste diverted, which equals the garbage from 350 people for 1 year!

wow, thanks for carding about the planet, nature’s path!

in honor of earth day today, and in addition to the year supply of cereal they are giving away on their blog, nature’s path wants to help you all get started with focusing on organic eating and has generously offered to give away this trio of organic products to one meals & moves reader! image

I take the subway! Kind of forced to in NYC. And I carry a reusable water bottle everywhere.

Sarah April 22, 2011 at 9:53 am

I try to walk or ride my bike as much as possible, instead of driving my car. I love living in a city that is easy to do that in!

Danielle April 22, 2011 at 9:54 am

I try to buy local produce whenever possible and almost always take the bus or walk to work

suzanne April 22, 2011 at 9:54 am

I really want to try that Love crunch!! It looks soooo good!
Things that help me stay green: re-usable containers to take food to work
short showers
using all natural cleaners
buying from the farmers market=less packaging

movesnmunchies April 22, 2011 at 9:56 am

Happy Earth Day! (And GOOD Friday!)
My company has a ban on non-resusable water bottles in the building, which is pretty cool!
I also use earth friendly products and try to use reuable bags at Trader Joes, (when I remember!)

Becca B April 22, 2011 at 9:57 am

I am a recycling fanatic and i switched all my lights to those halogen ones, and i use those reusable grocery bags!

a taste of health with balance April 22, 2011 at 9:58 am

i grow a big garden, buy local, ride my bike, quick showers, and recycle! :)

Stefanie April 22, 2011 at 9:59 am

I’m part of a environmental clean-up volunteer group at my local park. Each weekend, we all spend a day cleaning up trash & keeping the park looking its best!

Lauren April 22, 2011 at 9:59 am

WOW…those granola bars look amazing…I don’t think I can wait until I find out if I win or not and might go buy them at lunch :). To make the Earth a better place I recycle ALL the time, try to eat local organic produce, and I live REALLY close to work so I don’t drive my car much at all during the week.

Ashley L April 22, 2011 at 10:00 am

I drive a Toyota Corolla aka the Cuisinart. It sounds like a blender, I swear.

Otherwise I recycle, grow my own veggies in the summer, compost my grass clippings, and bring my grocery bags to the store.

I do all that to make up for my anti-green job. AKA the big bad petroleum biz!

Lisa (I'm an Okie) April 22, 2011 at 10:01 am

I’ll be carpooling to Nursing School!

Rosie April 22, 2011 at 10:01 am

I love my reusable water bottle, our house doesn’t have air conditioning or crank the heat, and (when they’re open) I shop at my local Farmers’ Markets and road-side farm stands. So excited for their reopenings in May!

Rose April 22, 2011 at 10:03 am

What an AWESOME prize. I entered the crap out of their contest.

I didn’t even know today was Earth Day, though. FAIL.

Marie April 22, 2011 at 10:04 am

We use reusable water bottles! Contigo! ;)

Kristen April 22, 2011 at 10:05 am

Meg April 22, 2011 at 10:11 am

Facebook deed done!

Jess April 22, 2011 at 10:11 am

I ride my bike to school when the weather is warm enough! When it’s not, my boyfriend and I carpool to work/school.

allison April 22, 2011 at 10:12 am

I use reusable bags for groceries, and a reusable mug for coffee!

Sami April 22, 2011 at 10:14 am

Nature’s Path has always been a fave of mine! In order to save our Earth, I’ve been known to tote around reuseable grocery bags and force them on unsuspecting customers ahead of me in line :) hahaha. It’s nice because they consider it a “gift” and I save them from using PLASTIC disposable!

Abby April 22, 2011 at 10:15 am

I use reuasble grocery bags, a travel mug for coffee/tea, and a reusable water bottle. I also recycle my plastic and cardboard products! :)

kenzie April 22, 2011 at 10:16 am

I’m vegan, buy organic produce whenever possible, and use a reusable water bottle!!

:)

Elliott April 22, 2011 at 10:16 am

I walk to class, even though I have to leave 20 minutes early and carry my lunch box, book bag, and anything else I need…it’s also good exercise! I also planted my own (organic) tomatoes, and herbs!

ashley hutton April 22, 2011 at 10:16 am

i’m starting to ride my bike to places in town. less driving a vehicle!

Elliott April 22, 2011 at 10:19 am

Following them on facebook! Awesome giveaway!

Nicole C April 22, 2011 at 10:24 am

– I am late to work every other Friday since I am scrambling to put all my recycling out
– use my contigo bottle all the time
– save energy by making my house look like a cave a night
– changed all the light to fluorescent
– weather stripping all over my house
– recycling plastic bags..and anything else i can find.

To top it off, I work for a renewable energy company that installs solar panels!

Megan April 22, 2011 at 10:24 am

I walk everywhere, use reusable grocery bags, and always recycle!

maija April 22, 2011 at 10:25 am

i try not to use more than i need… and i don’t NEED to drive everywhere, get bags at the store, have everything individually packaged, etc.

penny April 22, 2011 at 10:25 am

I use reusable bags!

Nicole C April 22, 2011 at 10:27 am

Man..it didn’t post my first comment..

I’m late to work every other Friday so I can put my mounds of recycling out.

Plus, I work for a renewable energy company that install solar panels!

carly71722 April 22, 2011 at 10:27 am

I walk whenever possible (luckily we have a lot of good stores, restaurants, etc right by me!), and I try to use reusable bags whenever I don’t forget them in my house :)

monica April 22, 2011 at 10:31 am

Happy Earth Day!
I think I make the world a better place by going out of my way to recycle everything, and making sure that I don’t litter. Everything makes a difference.

Allison @ Food For Healing April 22, 2011 at 10:34 am

I recycle! bottles, cans, paper, glass, tin cans and plastic. Everything I possibly can.
Happy Earth Day! We plan on riding our bikes today so cut down on emissions too.

Karen April 22, 2011 at 10:34 am

To make the Earth a better place I recycle everything I can. We always have a full recycling bin each week. We also donate a lot items we may not be using instead of throwing them away.

julie April 22, 2011 at 10:34 am

i’m using my reusable mug at starbucks for free coffee as many times as i can today! save the planet!

Stevie April 22, 2011 at 10:37 am

i’m originally from seattle where recycling is a hugeeeee deal. i moved to utah where it’s not nearly as big of a deal. there is no recycling bins at my apartment complex so whenever i have something that needs to be recycled i put it all in a box and take it to the recycling at the high school down the street :)

Evan Thomas April 22, 2011 at 10:37 am

I make the earth a better place by buying organic when the price is comparable to the conventional.

Leslie Luu April 22, 2011 at 10:38 am

I go by the 3 “R”s of the environment : Reduce, Recycle, Reuse!

brandi April 22, 2011 at 10:40 am

Waheeda April 22, 2011 at 10:43 am

i am pretty good about not wasting water…in the shower, when i do dishes, etc. I also use a reusable water bottle whereas before I used to use bottled water daily!

Denise April 22, 2011 at 10:43 am

I’m a reusable water bottle fiend and I recycle my millions of cereal boxes. :) Also, I’ve recently been trying to unplug all devices that aren’t in use (saves me $$ too).

Carrie April 22, 2011 at 10:45 am

I recycle. :)

Carrie April 22, 2011 at 10:46 am

I posted on their FB wall. Thanks, J!

Eden April 22, 2011 at 10:46 am
