in meals

there’s a giveaway near the end of this post. i predict that this post is going to be absolutely, positively pointless… so if you don’t like pointless posts, feel free to skip to the giveaway. i won’t judge you.

in my last post, i showed you a few things i have been eating. well, now i am going to show you a bunch of other random stuff from my camera card. enjoy. or something like that.

i have an overabundance of unread magazines right now. why is it that all my subscriptions come to my mailbox at the same time?

IMG_9815

larabars are a buck at sunflower market AND at smith’s marketplace right now. stock up. chobani is also on sale for a buck at sunflower.

IMG_0059

marshall bet me a dollar that i wouldn’t take my contacts out the other night. guess who won? this girl.

IMG_9942

hi, i’m cousin it.

IMG_0013

i haven’t had a haircut in over three months. i am challenged and have a hard time trimming my own bangs at home. i always get them crooked or mess them up somehow.

IMG_9987

until now.

IMG_9991

i was sent a creaclip to try out and review here on the blog. the creaclip is a foolproof way to cut your hair (and bangs!) at home.

i got this in the mail today and immediately put it to use on my cousin it bangs.

clamp the bangs..

IMG_0019

make sure the bubble in the level is right where it needs to be..IMG_0020

then it is just a quick snip along the bottom of the creaclip!IMG_0021

perfectly trimmed bangs, no skill required.

IMG_0025

you can read more about the creaclip on their website and there are also tutorial videos. you can do all sorts of different haircuts at home!

want a creaclip of your own? here’s your chance.

TO ENTER:

  • get one entry when you leave a comment telling me how often you get your hair cut.
  • get an additional entry by liking creaclip on facebook (click link) and leave an additional comment letting me know you did so.

pretty simple. i will randomly pick a winner next time i post!

random randy shot! he likes it under the table for some reason.

IMG_0061

i did a bodyrock.tv workout tonight and came out to the kitchen to see marshall nonhalantly cooking dinner while reading a CD sleeve. so casual.

IMG_0060

think he will do the dishes?

IMG_0065

my guess is no.

IMG_9820

good night and good luck on the giveaway!

VeggieGirl March 23, 2011 at 9:21 pm

I get my hair cut every 6-7 weeks or so.

sabrinarella March 23, 2011 at 9:23 pm

i cut my own bangs at least once a week! gimmmeeee that please!

Allison @ Food For Healing March 23, 2011 at 9:23 pm

i love giveaways, will it come to canada?
I dont know when the last time I had a haircut, i’m long overdue. I always get it cut too short or get bangs (i hate bangs on me) but somehow i always get talked into something shorter than i like. I would like to be able to trim my own hair, but i know i’d do a terrible hack job. maybe that do-hickey would do the trick for me?

Rika March 23, 2011 at 9:25 pm

I cut my hair every 3 months! It feels too “heavy” for me if I don’t!

Ambika S. March 23, 2011 at 9:26 pm

I try to get my hair cut every 3 months or so!

(as i typed that, I realize it’s been 6 months..oops!)

Melina March 23, 2011 at 9:30 pm

Oh my goodness! You have no idea how awesome that creaclip would be for me! I get my hair cut every 6 weeks, but I too am bang trimming challenged so I go in every 2-3 weeks to get them trimmed. What a lifesaver that would be!

Waheeda March 23, 2011 at 9:32 pm

sadly..every few months. i know it should b every 6 weeks…but i forget about it. maybe this gadget will help me remember!

Melina March 23, 2011 at 9:35 pm

I liked creaclip on Facebook. That thing is seriously neat!

annedell March 23, 2011 at 9:42 pm

I live in California but get my hair cut every time I go home to Indiana. The same lady has been cutting my hair for the past 11 yrs and I am just too afraid to go to anyone new! I haven’t been home since November so I was just thinking this morning how I should try to trim my bangs because they’re bad! This would definitely help!!

araceli March 23, 2011 at 9:56 pm

I know this is bad, but I get my hair cut about twice a year. I cut it back in january and probably wont touch it till the summer.

edenseats March 23, 2011 at 9:57 pm

O my goodness, you and I are like riding the same wave lately!
I havent had a hair cut in about three months (maybe four…but I dont want to admit it…). The family I work as a personal chef for has a great hair stylist that does housecalls! So he’s coming over this weekend! I sported bangs for a few years in high school, but who knows they might make a comeback this weekend. i try to get a trim every six weeks but it usually ends up being every three to five months.

Laura (starloz) March 23, 2011 at 9:57 pm

oh, i don’t have bangs!

squigglefloey March 23, 2011 at 9:58 pm

I get my haircut every 3-4 months…I think haha. It’s expensive!

Healthy Coconut March 23, 2011 at 10:14 pm

Oh yes please, I need help with cutting my bangs too. I tried to do it once and when I say my hairdresser, she said “what did you do?”

I cut my hair every 2 months but I need a trim on my bangs at least every month. They grow like weeds, must be the green monsters.

Thanks for doing this giveaway Janettha

Rose March 23, 2011 at 10:32 pm

That clip is GENIUS!

I have paid for a haircut, oh, twice in the last 5 years?

I scored a free one right after my wedding. Beyond that I either cut it myself (with mixed results), or, um, don’t. Yeah.

Krista C. March 24, 2011 at 12:27 am

I trim my own hair about 3-4 times a year, this gadget would be awesome!!

Krista C. March 24, 2011 at 12:31 am

I liked it on facebook as well!

Mary Beth March 24, 2011 at 1:15 am

**Hangs head (and hair) in shame…**Haircuts probably only 2x a year. Other than that, I get scissor happy and start trimming my own when I see the ends getting unruly.

Presley March 24, 2011 at 2:55 am

Larabars are also a dollar at Kroger right now! And I don’t know if it’s still available, but there was a dollar off of two floating around the “couponing” sites for a while. I used it today :)!

Malika March 24, 2011 at 3:31 am

Every month :)
I can’t STAND having my hair past my shoulders….
Plus I have bangs to be trimmed!

sofia March 24, 2011 at 3:33 am

haircuts in new york, like everything else, are at least $70 – if you want a good one. i used to be one of those “i ain’t payin’ more than thirty bucks” gals until i got a ridiculously looking bowl cut that was supposed to be a hip, short hair kind of look. i basically looked stupid for two months, so now i shell out the dough… once every 6 months or so ;) but the no-longer-existent bangs need a trim!

Lauren March 24, 2011 at 3:40 am

Haha, Marshall is too cute! :) I love his little note with the dollar he lost to you.

I always try to cut my own bangs and than my hair dresser yells at me. I get so fed up with them that I usually just try to “clean them up” with some manicure scissors and a steady arm. It never works. This clip sounds like just what I need!

Cathy K March 24, 2011 at 3:42 am

fave photo of this post: marshall cooking and reading. love a multitasker! (i thought i was bad reading + knitting!)
i get my hair cut about once per year. seriously. not a high priority.
thanks for the giveaway, janetha! your bangs look super cute post-trim (well, and before!)

Jessica March 24, 2011 at 3:42 am

it’s been almost 4 months since my last haircut…i’m long overdue!

Danielle March 24, 2011 at 3:52 am

I am cheap so I only get my hair cut about twice a year :S

Erica March 24, 2011 at 3:57 am

Thats awesome that you found that clip! What a great and simple way to cut your bangs!! I don’t have bangs- but if I did, I’d be using that for sure. That last picture is awesome. We often use Frank as a pillow ;)

Ellen @ Undercover Runner Eats March 24, 2011 at 4:01 am

I try to get my hair trimmed every 2-3 months, but since I got bangs it’s been a lot harder to convince myself not to go, even though I REALLY want my hair to grow out!

shari March 24, 2011 at 4:01 am

I need this bad! i get my haircut if im lucky every 6 months.
I do it myself in between by flipping it all upside down in a pony and then snipping! haha

Katie March 24, 2011 at 4:07 am

Guess the dishes will have to do themselves ; ) lol too cute!

Oh I SO need this for my shaggy bangs, they grow SO fast and I only go to the hair salon every 6-8 weeks for a color and trim, so when my bangs get shaggy I have just been pinning them back! I would love this!!

Sarahbethb March 24, 2011 at 4:10 am

Not as often as i should. I am over due for one now.

Sarahbethb March 24, 2011 at 4:13 am

I ‘liked’ it on facebook

Karla March 24, 2011 at 4:15 am

I use to only get my hair cut 1-2 time per year. But, since getting engaged, i’ve got it cut every month. My hope was that it would be longer and healthier before the wedding.

cleaneatingchelsey March 24, 2011 at 4:22 am

That is a nifty little tool!!!

Paige is Running Around Normal March 24, 2011 at 4:26 am

omg that thing is awesome!! lol
I don’t have bangs to clip, but I still had to comment on how that’s been needed for ages now! Your bangs look great, girl :)

Holly March 24, 2011 at 4:26 am

I get my haircut every 2 months or so. I only get it trimmed, so I don’t worry about getting in there more than that.

Holly March 24, 2011 at 4:27 am

I liked this on facebook!

Donna March 24, 2011 at 4:29 am

Ahhhhh, i SO need this!
Too funny because i just blogged on Friday about how HORRIBLE i am at cutting my own bangs
Ps: i LOVE your hair, makes me want to grow mine out :)
Pps: i liked them on FB!

simplyshaka March 24, 2011 at 4:33 am

Randy likes it under the table heheh. Why do I have the sense of humor of a 13 y.o boy??! :)

I love that clip–what a great creation! I stopped cutting my bangs b/c I was sick of looking like a mental patient so I could definitely use this. I have to get my hair cut every 3 months, it grows so fast and I despise split ends.

simplyshaka March 24, 2011 at 4:33 am

I like them on FB!

Rebecca March 24, 2011 at 4:44 am

So funny you posted this because I desperately need a haircut! My last haircut was just before Christmas.

Heather March 24, 2011 at 4:54 am

hahahaha that photo of marshall TOTALLY reminds me of when nate makes dinner. oh those husbands, they’re so cute and so frustrating at the same time :)

i get my hair cut realistically 3-4 times a year, but it’s been almost 6 months since the last one. YIKES!

Lee March 24, 2011 at 5:06 am

Bangs don’t work for my curly hair so I don’t want to be entered in the giveaway but I just wanted to say that’s a cool idea. Why didn’t I think of it?

Jennifer Sikora March 24, 2011 at 5:06 am

I get my hair cut once a year. Crazy I know, but I just don’t go that often!

Jennifer Sikora March 24, 2011 at 5:07 am

I liked them on Facebook

jules524 March 24, 2011 at 5:12 am

i get my hair cut whenever i have the money :D which usually ends up to be every 6-8 weeks

withasideofhope March 24, 2011 at 5:15 am

What a cool tool! I’ve never seen that before. I used to have bangs way back in the day but my hair is so curly and thick that they would always curl up. So I just grew them out and now I am bang-less! :) I haven’t gone for a haircut in a while. I have one scheduled tonight though! Yay!

OMG..the picture of Marshall cooking while reading a cd sleeve is priceless! I love it!

Shannon March 24, 2011 at 5:30 am

That is really genius… a level built in?! blows my mind.
I have bangs just like yours, and I am too scared to trim them. I usually make my mom do it. :-)
Other than the bang trim, I only get my hair cut maybe once or twice a year I think, whenever I want a brand new hairdo.. I like to switch it up!

movesnmunchies March 24, 2011 at 5:46 am

WOW that clip thing is AWESOME!! i get my hair cut like 3 times a year.. its BAD

coffeeandthepaper March 24, 2011 at 5:46 am

I personally love random posts like this!

I think that the reason dogs like it under the table has to do with their ancestors living in caves. Maybe?

brandi March 24, 2011 at 5:50 am

man, that creaclip looks awesome! I’ve tried cutting my own bangs before too. NOT a good idea :)

I actually just got a trim for the first time in over 3 months. My lady moved or something! I have no idea where she went and I hate having to find new hairstylists, so I’m putting it off.
