satisfied.

hey guys! can i get a TGIF? geez, this week has been a doozy and i am welcoming this weekend with open arms. i don’t have a single plan (aside from shopping for a pot rack with my mom) and i intend to keep it that way.

work has been rough this week and i haven’t seen my friend j5 in what seems like centuries. she asked me out on a date for lunch (romantic!) so i quickly agreed, even though i had my lunch packed and in the office fridge.

i usually never eat out for lunch. every day i either make a wrap or sandwich or pack leftovers. but sometimes you just gotta get out of the office, eat delicious food and catch up with a good friend.

love those dimples.

we went to paradise bakery and i ordered the you-choose-two thingamajig.

i got a half turkey + cranberry on multigrain. it wasn’t that great, i didn’t finish it. i think i am officially over sodium-laden lunch meats.

i also got a small BBQ chicken chopped salad. it was delicious. definitely finished it.

also definitely finished the free chocolate chip cookie that came with my meal. i’ve never met a cookie i didn’t like. in fact, i also had a thin mint girl scout cookie with my coffee this morning. everyone in the office received their girl scout cookie shipments today. i was smart enough to not order 7 boxes myself (i have no self control when it comes to samoas) but i did take advantage of my boss’s box of thin mints!

anyway.

i know i have been a bit of a slacker on my flashback friday episodes. in fact, i haven’t done my typical flashback friday since JANUARY! but today’s question on the 30 question challenge fits RIGHT in with my flashback friday theme. 2 birds, 1 stone 2 features, 1 blog post.

this one’s easy.

the moment was july 17, 2010. around 3 PM.

i was smiling so big i think my face almost broke in half.

i saw marshall for the first time on our wedding day.

the first day of the rest of our lives together.

with these goons, of course.

i know i haven’t done any wedding flashbacks for awhile.. i know, i’m the #1 procrastination station.  in case you missed them, here are the flashbacks from days passed:

today i am going to flash back to a little bride + groom action.

as many of you know, marshall & i saw each other on our wedding day before the actual ceremony, which was held at 7 PM.  we did this because we wanted to a) get photos with penny & randy (our dogs) and b) get photos downtown SLC while the sun was still shining.

and photos we got! here are some of my favorites.

it was the middle of the day in the middle of july. it was HOT. the dogs were not cooperating.

we did the best we could, using toys and treats. well, not treats.. all we had was a kind bar. haha.

they were good sports.

we really wanted a family photo for the mantle..

thank goodness for photoshop, because my photographer ended up swapping a few dog heads and this is what we ended up with. i love it.

after the pup photo sesh was finished, we gallivanted around downtown salt lake city and took photos all over the place.

marshall and i share a love for coffee, so we chose a coffee house with a large COFFEE sign to take photos in front of.

taking photos on your wedding day is fun. not only are you more dressed up than you ever have been, lkike, ever.. you are also with the love of your life! it’s just, well, fun.

back to the challenge.. it says to talk about a time you’ve been most satisfied with life.

my life has been crazy. a lot crazier than many people i know. i went to jail. i was on drugs. i was off drugs. i drank a lot. i broke my arm. i was in the hospital. i got deported from canada. i had job after job after job after JOB. i was in and out of horrible relationships. like.. really horrible relationships.  i thought i would never find a career or a boyfriend that would actually stick.

and then i met marshall. at my new job that i loved, of all places! and a couple years after meeting, we started dating. and it was rad. i loved it. i loved my job. i loved him. i loved life!

i wanted to marry him.. but i was scared of getting married. i mean, nothing i did in life really ever worked out. we’d been dating for almost 3 years when he caught me by surprise and popped the question. in a hotel room in jamaica of all places. i was excited. thrilled! in love, for sure.

but it wasn’t until this day..walking on main street.. with my very favorite person.. that i really felt satisfied with life.

and to be completely honest, life just keeps getting better and better. and better.

well, not the end. i still have a few more wedding recaps to do. i am sure those will get done before columbus day rolls around.
