love crunch giveaway.

in meals

happy valentine’s day! i want every single one of you to be my valentine.

i am blogging early tonight because i have a hot at-home dinner date with you-know-who.

because i love any excuse to bake, i used valentine’s day as a reason to make some cookies for my co-workers. i was initially going to make these cookies, until i saw that the dough had to be refrigerated for a2-4 hours. since it was already 8:30 PM when i got started, i vetoed the idea (although i will be making those cookies soon.. i have all the ingredients now!)IMG_8082

i decided to make my favorite cookies ever—my chocolate chip cookies. i stole this cute idea from jessica and dipped the cookies in white chocolate and pink colored white chocolate. festive!

IMG_8083

it was so easy to turn these regular chocolate chip cookies into valentine’s day cookies. just a little white chocolate and food coloring. the possibilities are endless.. i can’t wait for st. patrick’s day and the 4th of july and christmas. festive cookies for everyone!

annnyway, i won’t bore you with my meals & moves for today. i had my usual sales meeting monday morning meal (egg whites and fruit today) and then leftovers for lunch. what i really want to tell you about is my snack.

IMG_8106

for my snack today, i had some greek yogurt topped with nature’s path organic love crunch.

let’s talk about love crunch.

you guys know i love this brand. i consume the ancient grains granola like it’s my job (and i wish it was!)

well, i was recently contacted by the company and they sent me a box of their newest creation: love crunch.

The Story behind Love Crunch

Love Crunch was born out of love and a passion for both cereal and philanthropy; the first boxes of Love Crunch were created to give as wedding favors to those who helped celebrate the marriage of Nature’s Path Organic Foods founding family members, Arjan and Rimjhim Stephens.

In lieu of gifts, they asked each of the wedding guests to do a volunteer community project to post to a web page “The Experience Giving Project.” To share their project with cereal lovers nationwide, they partnered with Whole Food Market’s non-profit Whole Planet Foundation to create an easy way to donate and make a difference in the lives of those most in need.

IMG_8087

Each box of Nature’s Path Love Crunch sold donates $1 to help give women the chance to create or expand home-based businesses and lift themselves and their families out of poverty.

cool, right?!

this limited edition granola is over the top delicious.

IMG_8095

it has a flax granola base lightly flavored with organic cocoa, then loaded with chunks of dark chocolate, dried raspberries & strawberries and coconut.

IMG_8100

for those curious, here are the ingredients and nutrition stats:

IMG_8088IMG_8089

i rarely eat a whole “serving size” of granola because it is so calorie-dense.. but trust me, 1/4 cup of this stuff goes a LONG way.

IMG_8113

especially when paired with some protein-dense greek yogurt.

IMG_8114

the variety of textures in the granola keep it really exciting and the chocolatey flavor is delicious. think cocoa krispies on steroids. sooo good.

need proof that it’s good? here’s a story.

i received the box of love crunch upon returning home from mexico. a few days later.. it was gone.  before i took photos. before i even thought about writing this post. marshall and i gobbled up the whole box. let’s be honest, it was mainly marshall. he needed something to put on top of all that yogurt!

um. oops?

SO, i had to drive out to whole foods (i don’t live near one anymore.. poor me.. it is about 20 minutes away-no biggie) and purchase a new box of love crunch to photograph (and review).

and guess what? it was on sale! you know i love a sale. it was 2 boxes for $6. bargain. PLUS, $2 of that $6 is donated to giving women a chance to lift themselves out of poverty. so, naturally, i bought two boxes.

IMG_8086

one for me, and one for you.

to enter to win a box for yourself:

  • in honor of valentine’s day, leave me a comment telling me what you love about yourself.

i will pick a winner next time i post!

good luck!

for kicks, and because the last one was so fun, here is a valentine’s day poll. marshall and i don’t go all out of valentine’s. we love each other year round :)

*i was sent one box of nature’s path organic love crunch for free to review on meals & moves. i purchased the box that is being given away and the company is not sponsoring the giveaway in any way. all my opinions are just that—opinions. i wasn’t paid to say any of this, but i would happily eat granola for free for the rest of my life and say whatever you want me to.

I used V-Day as an excuse to buy Chris a present from the As Seen On TV store and a box of See’s candy which he’ll bring back home to me after taking it to work. We’re ordering pizza delivered because it’s monsooning out. We know we have to work on love every day, not just one day a year.

That granola looks pretty good. I hope to get my hands on some soon. We don’t have a whole foods store around here. I’m currently eating a dark chocolate granola similar to that…although not as good I’m sure. :)

OOh chocolate for breakfast is the best. If I wasn’t so full on carrot cake I’d want some of that right now!

I love that I’m learning to be easier on myself.

Whitney February 14, 2011 at 7:29 pm

Wow, what a cool premise surrounding Love Crunch. Crunchy choco-granola? Sweet. Donating $$ to a great cause? Extra sweet.

I love that I’m stubborn as a mule; it can be irritating at times (even to me!) but my tenacity has got me to where I am now, which is a pretty good place to be — if I do say so myself, heh.

cbrady3 February 14, 2011 at 7:29 pm

I love that I like to look at things from multiple perspectives before judging. I think it’s a good quality!
And that Love Crunch has been eying my from blog world..looks so good!
