That owl mug is beautiful!
I have not read a book in over a year… how terrible is that?
But at least the book was good, and it was Water for Elephants. There is a movie (with Reese Witherspoon!!! coming out soon), and I can’t wait to see it.

Nicole G December 12, 2010 at 12:53 pm

The last really good book I read (and completed) was the second installment of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” series. I think the second one is “The Girl who Played with Fire” but I get confused as to whether that is the title of the second or third and the “Hornet’s Nest” one is the second or third. Either way, I’m really into the series and got halfway into the third when law school started and my reading was limited to cases and more cases. I’d love to have that book to read over break! (After I finish the third in the series of course =) )

I just read a great running/inspiration book called The Long Run about a NYC firefighter/triathlete/marathoner that got hit by a bus and was given a 5% chance of survival due to the extent of the injuries. The book is about his life, the rehab he received and how he got back to running marathons again…SO INSPIRATIONAL!

I second all of the comments about the mug! I am a thrift store fiend when it comes to finding owl-related items.

I am in a grad program now focused on higher education and one of the books I read for a class was called The Chosen: The Hidden History of Admissions and Exclusions at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton.

Michelle M December 12, 2010 at 1:42 pm

The last book I read was Lone Survivor. It was a true story about a navy seal, Marcus Lutrell’s, experience in Afganastan. It was really really good and very sad. But it gave you a glimpse into what our armed forces go through and do for our country. It makes you very grateful for those individuals who risk their lives everyday for a cause that is bigger than themselves.

Claire December 12, 2010 at 2:48 pm
