yoohoo!
gee, now that i don’t have to do a marathon post of catching up, i am not quite sure what to write about! i am sure i will think of a thing or two ;)
today was a bit hectic at the office. the other gal who runs the show alongside me is on a cruise and so i am trying to hold down the fort as best as i can. i do have a couple other girls there, but for the most part i am the only one who knows how to do things around there and it is rough! luckily she is gone for just a week and not a month.. you should have seen me when she was on maternity leave! no bueno.
anyway, enough about that.. how about some food? that’s what you came for, right?
breakfast was one of my favorites with a new twist!
pb& j yoatgurt!
this was 1/3 cup oats mixed with 1/2 scoop of vanilla protein powder and 1 cup dannon greek yogurt (which, by the way, is dirt cheap.. $2.79 for the same size container of oikos that is $4.99~ and it tastes decent!) topped with a dollup of mighty maple and a dollup of sugar free raspberry jam.
all mixed up.
i had never tried smuckers sugar free jam until today.

i was a little skeptical because i usually hate sugar free anything.. but when i saw that it was just 10 calories per tablespoon i decided to give it a whirl and it turns out i REALLY liked it! didn’t taste weird at all. definitely a keeper.
lunch didn’t come until five hours later. dude, yoats keep me full for SO dang long. love it! especially when i am busy.
egg wrap!
this wrap was fantastic! the components:
- 1 high fiber/low carb la tortilla factory wheat tortilla
- 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg (microwaved & scrambled)
- 1/8 cup tillamook cheddar (shredded & melted on top)
- 2 TB heinz reduced sugar ketchup
can you believe this whole wrap was only 263 calories? baller.
the rest of the stats are: 29.g protein, 21g carbs, 12g fiber and 12g fat. and it kept me full for four hours. thank you, fiber.
the afternoon consisted of some top secret shenanigans. i came back to the office and had one of these:
[source.]
but didn’t take a photo, so i did a quick google image search and this image came up from emily’s old blog! so i stole it :)
you know, i used to really like the cookie dough balance bar.. but these days it just tastes really artificial and gritty and just “meh”~ i don’t think i will buy them again.
after work it was off to the gym!
lower body workout.
i went with a body for life style workout today, for old time’s sake.

the end! super good workout, still feeling the burn, actually!
i recharged after my workout with a green monster.. roooar.
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
- 1/2 frozen banana
- handful of blueberries
- 3 large and in charge strawberries
- spinach
- ice
ughhh i didn’t put the gums in (xanthan gum & guar gum) and i could totally tell a difference. the shake was just not as thick and creamy as i have become accustomed to!
ah well, moving on.
i also had the very last little bit of beek’s chia granola with almond milk~
sooo.. out of granola. time to make a new batch. does anyone have a super good granola recipe they would like to share with me? come on now, don’t be shy.
after this i went and met up with some friends and we got pedicures which was super great and relaxing! i also handed out my spring colored cookies to my friends :)
and now.. i am typing.. thinking of what i can eat.. and realizing this post is pretty whack. sorry folks, it’s all i’ve got tonight.
tomorrow should be more exciting. after all, it is waffle wednesday!!
see ya later alligators!!
Qs~
1. how do you feel about sugar free products? what are some of your favorites? usually i hate sugar free anything.. oh and don’t get me started on how disgusting diet coke is.. i hate that “fake” flavor. can’t stand splenda/stevia/etc.. but the smucker’s jam was pleasantly tasty! and i also like the reduced sugar ketchup.
2. favorite granola? this can be favorite brand or favorite recipe. ready, go!

You are busy at work and your personal life. Whew girl!! Sounds like you are holding it together.
I usually avoid sugar free stuff too. Agreed…diet Coke is NASTY. Ick! I can do some brands of stevia. My favorite granola is one I get out of the bin here at a local health food store. It’s vanilla blueberry flax. It’s “ballers”. Even though I have no idea what that words means! ;-)
Whoa I need to try the sugar free jam sounds yummy! Yep I’m down for BFL work outs too. I kind of liked sugar free candy but ugh it made me feel yucky–i eat the real thing on free day.
My granola recipe is awesome but you need to clean it up some huh?! Xoxo
My next post is about my friend Becky’s Cracknola that she brought over on Sunday. I’ll have to get her recipe. All I know is it’s sweetened with Maple Syrup, and I can’t eat just one bowl, always two!
Ah I just asked the same granola q on my blog – I love blueberry! I love those La Tortilla wraps, sooo good! I dont mind sugar free products on occasion, I’ll drink a Fresca or Diet Sprite.
Diabetes runs in the family so I have quite a few sugar free items at the casa. Naturally I use splenda and the like, cereals with not too much sugar, same for yogurts, ketchup occasionally (although some brands I tried tasted like cough medicine)….
that’s the exact same jam i use! i’m kinda ashamed to admit it, just b/c i am generally super against sugar free things but i am still a total sucker for diet soda and that jam!! hard habit to break, and it’s so yummy…
I know so many people try and stay away from SF stuff. I honestly use them in moderation. I use most SF things in such small quantities, I’m okay with that. The red raspberry preserves aren’t bad at all! But I tried one flavor that was NASTY. Can’t remember which one though. I do, however, love diet coke. I was raised on it though, so I’ve never liked sugary sodas. Diet sodas taste way better to me!
Udi’s granola is AWESOME!! OMG soooooo good. I also love Kashi’s cocoa granola. And Trader Joe’s low fat granola tastes like frosting!
That breakfast looks amazing. PBJ oats = awesome. I love the cookie dough Balance bars- I think it’s one of my all-time favourite bars. Though also a HUGE fan of the recently discovered frosted cinnamon bun Carbrite bars. SOOOOOOOOO good.
Best granola = Bear Naked fruit and nut. Always and forever :D
Sugar free = I drink too much diet soda and add a ton of Equal to stuff. I need to cut down on my artificial sweetener consumption :( I am not a fan of sugar free ketchup, but I buy reduced sugar jam, pancake syrup and most of my protein bars are low-carb/sugar free (not because I *need* a low-carb bar but a lot of the protein bars just happen to be designed for that).
I just did a post using my reduced sugar jam, its one of the sugar free things i like aswell!! perfect with yogurt and banana for an after workout snack!! PS. i adore your blog!! love it love it!! xxx
Sugar free stuff makes my tummy bad……..not good! x x
I don’t like sugar free products that use artificial sweeteners but the other day I got some fruit spread that is sweetened with agave and I love it.
Granola… I really love the hemp-nola (recipe by eat, drink & be vegan). Homemade rules!!
to funny that you mentioned this jam because i do not like SF things either, HOwever i LOVE this jam! they have it in strawberry and raspberry and I really enjoy both! I even tried its competitor, Polaner and it was not as good…i could eat this smuckers by the spoonful, I kid you not…moving on…that wrap does look amazing, i wish eggs filled me up though! I feel like I could eat 6 eggs and stil be hungry, maybe the trick is to add some of the yolk too…i gotta try that!
oh and I really like the SF pancake syrup! that stuff rocks, but thats about it!
awesome workout, I love that style!!
ohhh my favorite granola, this is a hard one…i love this new granola I got in the mail “the best damn granola” it has chunks of dried fruit and its awesome! I also love bear naked and natures path…too many to just pick one!!
I don’t like too many sugar free things. I used to eat them all the time but realized I actually ate more of the fake stuff. And ANY granola is good with me – I love it all. I also love making my own!
I’m not a huge fan of sugar free things, but occasionally I’ll put a splenda in my iced coffee in the summer. I know they’re defined as “safe for consumption,” but I just feel weird putting too many sugar-free’s into my daily life. I guess the key is moderation, as it always is. ;)
Favorite granola? I love, love, love natures path pumpkin flax granola, and I’m currently loving galaxy granola too. I like it when granolas have clusters of goodness to nibble on. :D
yummy yoatgurts!
Alicia Silverstone has a great granola recipe in the Kind Diet! I tried it this weekend with a few substitutions and it came out awesome :)
I LOVE Paloner’s sugar free jam with fiber. Strawberry is my favorite. It is low in calories, so I slather that stuff on!
I’ve quit using most sugar free products, but jams were always my favorites of the SF things I used to use!
that egg wrap and your yoatgurt both look awesome. I would like both for breakfast tomorrow :)
You are such a boss at work. I love it.
I’m not a big sugar free girl. I use stevia though, does that count haha?
I’m not crazy about sugar free products, I usually won’t buy anything sugar fre!
hey girl..your bfast looks yummy!
I don’t mind sugar free products…I like sugar free jams, ketchup and yes diet coke.
I figure in saves me a few calories in a day..which I need when I’m trying to lose lots of weight :P Perhaps when I get to my goal weight..I won’t crave any of that stuff any more :)
It really depends on the sugar free product. Some are absolutely digusting. That Smuckers stuff is pretty good though. I was fine with it until I tasted the Crofters spread and omg, there’s no comparison and Crofters stats arent too bad compared to all the other jellies/jams.
girl that PB&J yoatgurt has my name written all over it. Literally.
hope hump day treats you like a princess :) muah!
I don’t really do many sugar free products either. I think the only ones I do use are the jam (which come to think of it I have been buying all fruit or reduced sugar lately) and I do use sugar free syrup once a week when we have pancakes on Saturday mornings. Other than that I don’t really use it. I don’t have a problem with them really but just prefer eating more whole foods.
Yeahhh what a coincidence!! I just posted my Cocoa Pumpkin Chianola recipe!! http://luckytastebuds.wordpress.com/2010/03/10/chia-giveawayx4-cocoa-pumpkin-chianola/
It’s coincidentally also a giveaway, so please do enter!! I’d love for you to win some chia seeds. :) (4 winners = great chances!!)
I’m a fan of that sugar free product too!! IT’s defintely more fruity and chunky than a lot of other “regular” sugar products.
I love my sugar-free products I do use stevia in cold things. Faves are Mrs. Butterworth’s Sugar-Free syrup and Torani syrup. I do find lots of stuff sweetened other ways to so I am seeking balance (or trying to!)
Fave granola: so easy!!! Nature’s Path Pumpkin Flax Granola. The absolute best in a box!!!!!
I used to buy that sugar free jelly all the time! Back when I used to eat it with 40 calorie slices of bread and fat free butter lol. My how things have changed.
A whack post is better than no post from your beanie face! Hope work mellows out for your…
sugar free scares me…it usually means fake sugar, which is hard on my tum or higher amounts of something else to compensate for flavor. i dunno. im not one of those peeps that minds sugar though…as evidenced by my 800 pounds of dried fruit and apple consumption on the daily.
ps i havent commented in a while, but since ive been reading, i wanted to say, you are making SUCH great progress on your wedding planning!!! youll be coasting to the ceremony at this rate!! we are just now getting the save the dates done! ha!
Busy Janetha B!
I’m not a fan of the sugar free products. Never have been! Just don’t like the fake taste.
Sugar free stuff usually hurts my stomach, especially if it’s made with Splenda. I do like diet soda though but I try not to drink too much.
i’ve been creepin’ your blog for a while now, but something about this post is just asking for a comment.
i’m unreasonably afraid of aspartame, so i’m notttt usually a big SF fan. i’m ok with stevia, and waffle wednesdays are no fun with no SF maple syrup. but my jams and yogurts and stuff, i like to keep natural.
the best granola i know of is nature path’s peanut butter granola. suuuch a good treat on top of greek yogurt with a few dark chocolate chips. i wish i had a recipe for you, but no dice. :(
ya knowwww i just don’t hate sugar free products! i figure whatevvvvv hahaha. i’m a splenda user and abuser and it just is what it is haha. i know most people would hate me for that but whatev!
My favorite granola is from here: http://www.travelerslunchbox.com/journal/2007/6/9/the-lip-ladys-secret-granola.html
I’m not so much a fan of sugar free stuff, if you’re gonna do it, do it right! :)
Too funny, I just rediscovered sugar-free Smuckers this week! I was eating it before I saw my trainer – I was trying to be healthier by making a PB&J on Fiber One bread with sf preserves and reduced-fat Jif, oh how little I knew then. I had an unopened jar left and tried it on a homemade protein bar and fell in love! Funny that I feel like it’s kind of a cheat and felt guilty buying another jar. At least I’ve stuck with cutting out the diet soda – had 2 liter plus per day habit going there for a few years. Still can’t give up the sugar-free gum though.
I know sugar free stuff is so controversial, but I still have a Diet Coke every now and then. I also keep sugar-free maple syrup in the fridge, but rarely use it. Now that I have an ample supply of Stevia, I feel as though I’ve found my fave alternative! My mom is exactly like you, though, and completely hates Diet Coke. I can’t help my naught love!
Hmmm fave granola…anything Nature’s Path!
Hope you have a fab Wednesday! xoxoxo
Umm.. i’m a sf freak!! I love walden farms! LOL
Love the looks of pb&j yoats!
I am not a big fan of things that are sugar free… UNLESS they are sweetened with stevia. I am a huge fan of stevia- it is all natural and sugar free! I do like an occasional coke zero, though. But I agree- a lot of it has a “fake” taste.
I love Nature’s Path Peanut Butter or Ginger granola!!
xo
K
Sugar free stuff makes me insanely bloated. I doubt a teaspoon of jam would do that much damage though. I’ll have to try it out :)
HEY GIRL HEYYY!
i def use that jelly!! i i love it!! its not TOO sweet and doesnt have a funkyyy aftertaste! LOVE THOSE YOATS!! soo good! reduced sugar ketchup? I MUST FIND! i do LOVE wal mart brand sugar free brown maple sugar oatmeal..seriously, its wayy better than quacker! love you!
congrats on engagement !!! So I saw your blog and started my BFL first challenge about 9 weeks ago—-im kinda bummed that i dont feel like i have dramatically changed….did you feel this way?? I was hoping that after the 8 week mark i would see abs haha.
That egg wrap looks d-vine. 29g of protein?! Score! Top secret shenanies?! Now I’m curious! I’m not a big ‘sugar free’ girl because I don’t eat a lot of things with added sugar. I used to eat my diabetic friend’s sugar free candies from time to time and yeah, they’re not worth it. Favorite granola? Ehhhh….Bear Naked?! I’m not a big granola girl either, haha!
I think sugar-free products just make your body CRAVE sugar…I find that when I eat too much sugar-free stuff I end up binging on sugary foods.
J baby!!!!! The pb & j yoatgurt looks amaze. I am soooo pumped to try this famous combo out once i’m home….THIS WEEKEND :-D
I’m glad you enjoyed the jam!! I’m usually down for sugar free gum or sweeteners….but otherwise i’ll take the real deal!! Esp. fruit shizzz–love it. That jam does look tasty though!!!!
You’re adorable. I miss ya, and hope the engaged life is going fabbbb :)
Oh! And Trader Joe’s (low fat) Vanilla Granola with Almonds is my absolute favoriteeee. It seriously tastes like cake!!!!
Amazing eats, as always ;)
Loved the yoatgurt + PBJ combo!
Looked divine :)
Have a great Thursday, girl!
Brazilian XOXO´s,
Gabriela
I have found that most sugar free products have a questionable ingredient list. I do love the taste though! I love sugar free maple syrup and sugar free sweet pickles…oh the Splenda addiction.
I’m probably more addicted to Sugar Free things than I should be and will likely die of Splenda overdose, but it’s okay. The Smuckers are good, but I think the Sugar Free + Fiber Polaner Strawberry preserves are better!
So far, my fave granola has been a mix from MixMyGranola with muesli, chia seeds, dried strawberries and dried blueberries. It goes so well on my Fage!
Ah, if there’s anything that could make yoatgurt more perfect, it’s the addition of jelly ;)
1. I’m not against sugar free, probably because i only consume it in minimal amounts. the only thing I can think of in my kitchen that is sugar free in fact is Polaner’s sugar free spread (basically the same as your Smucker’s)..give it a try!
2. Bear Naked’s Fruit & Nut granola is the bomb!
I’m not a huge sugar free fan, but I won’t knock anything until I try it. I buy granola out of the bulk bins at my local grocery store – and my favorite right now is a coconut/almond mix. Yum, yum. :-)
Welcome to Smucker’s land. I’ve been loving on these sugar free jams/preserves for years now. The strawberry and apricot is pretty good too. Stay away from the cherry though, it tastes FAKE as heck!
I like Back to Nature chocolate delight granola. Right now I’m going through a bag of Chappaqua Crunch pomegranate & flax granola. I like it because its delicately sweet. :)
