in meals

ahhhhhchoo! i have been sneezing my brains out all day long.  thanks for all the get well wishes in my last post.  and for making me feel better about taking some time off from working out.  i am off to the doc in the morning so hopefully i can nip this thing in the bud. what the crap does that even mean anyway? “nip it in the bud”.. sayings are so weird.

well it is already nearly eleven and i am a sick girl so this post is going to be on the weak side of things!

to make it a little more interesting, i am going to turn to my wordpress dashboard for some blogging material!  i will be mentioning some random search engine terms that people plugged in (to google and the like) and for some strange reason my blog popped up!

meals_thumb

meal 1: mighty maple protein oats @ 8:00 AM

10-21-09 002

search engine term: “pig eating oats”

yep. that was me all right.

unfortunately i couldn’t celebrate waffle wednesday because i am a waffleless woman and the kitchen clearing challenge is not letting me buy any more. i am sure someone celebrated for all of us!

search engine term: “what is a great special meal for a guest”

hmmm.. well if this girl was my guest i would def make her some protein oats before we hit the slopes!

10-21-09 004 10-21-09 003

i was too busy for my own good again today! i will be grateful when the weekend comes.

meal 2: chicken + black bean + peach salsa wrap @ 1:00 PM

10-21-09 011

star of the show? this stuff..

 10-21-09 00510-21-09 006

dear trader joe’s.. please come to utah. thanks. love, janetha b.

10-21-09 008

search engine term: “huge mouth”

why yes, i have one of those.. i can fit my fist in my mouth actually. and i used my huge mouth to eat this:

10-21-09 012

yum.

after work i packed up half of my life and hauled it all up to marshall’s house.  this sounds like a simple task, right? wrong. i had 11 or 12 heavy boxes and i had to play tetris to fit them all into the bed of his truck. did you know australians call the bed of the truck the “tray of the ute”? weirdos. i can say that because i have lots of aussie friends ;) actually i love hearing the terms other countries use for the same things!  they also call cigarettes durries.

search engine term: “i have DOMS and it worsens every day”

dang. i wish i had DOMS. not me. i haven’t been to the gym in a week! mayjuh fail.

once i got to marshall’s around 7 PM we had to run to the store to snag some costume items for a halloween party we are attending on friday. our costumes are going to be so rad! well.. at least i think so. i will let you be the judge.

the last thing my sniffling, sneezing, aching self wanted to do was cook… so…

10-21-09 013

not having to cook when i am sick gets two thumbs way up.

10-21-09 014

10-21-09 017 10-21-09 015

meal 3: whole grain tuscan linguine with chicken & side salad @ 8:00 PM

10-21-09 023

i had never tried this dish from noodles. it is always hard for me to decide if i want an american dish, a mediterranean dish or an asian dish.  this time i went with italian. from what i could taste (which is not much.. damn those taste buds not functioning properly when i am sick!) this was absolutely fantastic!

10-21-09 019

10-21-09 021 10-21-09 022

search engine term: “angharad pronounced”

wrong blog. try here!

hated it.

10-21-09 025

search engine term: “how to open a smoothie business”

wrong blog again! try here!

after dinner we did some more shopping for our halloween costumes and then went back to marshall’s and unloaded the tray of his ute. and then i took seven thousand photos of the dogs. here are two.

10-21-09 059 10-21-09 032

oh! and randy got a new halloween collar!

10-21-09 064

it glows in the dark :)

my boyfriend made me some theraflu because he loves me.

10-21-09 044

delicious. hot, steamy medicine.

10-21-09 050

search engine term: “three hundred pounds of hummus”

i wish. not today! but i bet she may have had that much for lunch alone!10-21-09 045 10-21-09 046 10-21-09 047 10-21-09 048

search engine term: “cute coffee mugs”

there you go! you came to the right place! love my J mug.

and that ends the day’s eats and drinks. pretty uneventful.. i warned you.

marshall got new sheets! penny wouldn’t get off the bed when he was trying to put them on.

10-21-09 071

so she went under the fitted sheet.

she eventually got out.

 10-21-09 076

guess what? we got penelope jane one year ago tonight.

:)

search engine term: “happy eating cheesecake pic”

unfortunately no eating cheesecake pics today. too bad.. it just so happens to be national pumpkin cheesecake day! sure wish i had celebrated!

oh well, maybe next year!

the end.

told you this was going to be lame!

Qs

1. wordpressers.. tell us some of your silly search engine terms as of late!

2. when it comes to eating noodle dishes.. what type of cuisine do you prefer to consume your noodles via? i pick thai. pad thai rice noodles are so delish!

Katie October 21, 2009 at 11:53 pm

Once someone searched “Matt Hood Trader Joe’s” – Matt Hood is my brother’s name – and it came up with my blog. Oh so weired because my last name is no longer “Hood” and while I love TJ’s, there isn’t one in CO, so I don’t mention it ever. Odd, odd.

I also get a lot of “I want cake” searches – which makes sense, but it’s funny how many people share their desire for cake with a search engine.

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) October 22, 2009 at 12:18 am

feel better sweetie :)

Tay October 22, 2009 at 12:37 am

LOL I loved this! Feel better darling!!

I love Chinese chow mein and pad Thai type dishes. Yummmo!

Katharina October 22, 2009 at 12:43 am

Oh nooo!! Feel better!! I can’t wait to see what costumes you have picked out. I FINALLY figured out what I want to be for Halloween. I feel like I always end up coming up with these highly-conceptual costume ideas lol.. yeah I’m a big nerd. The peach salsa looks muy bueno. I’m almost out of my tomatoe-less corn salsa and I thought of you!

1. Man! I don’t have any funny ones. Usually I get bizarre things that just make me realize how random things really are! “i’m back in business, katharinas food adventures, grilled eggplant wraps, ideas basket full of diferent stuff, putting what you want out in the universe”

2. Hmm I prefer Thai when it comes to noodles.

burpexcuzme October 22, 2009 at 2:27 am

Hee hee! Love this! Can you do this again? Pretty please?

Some weird stuff I’ve gotten:

1) Burping porn (can you STOP with the porn!!!)
2) In N Out University
3) Korean etiquette eating out
4) evil pineapple eating coconuts

I know…crazy!
When it comes to noodles, I like it with tons of cheese! So, Italian or French for me, I suppose, though wait! I like Japanese fusion, with their shoyu or mayo-based sauces!

Quinn October 22, 2009 at 4:21 am

Hope you feel better! That TJ’s Peach Salsa is seriously one of the best things ever made. And, I might have to trade Thumper for Penny. Just saying…

Lauren October 22, 2009 at 4:57 am

Awww sorry your feeling bad darling. I am sending you all of my postive thoughts and warm wishes that you recover right away. Especially before the weekend. ;)

Oh how I ADORE that Tj’s Peach Salsa. I am taking a trip to the Promise Land this weekend (its about an hour from me) and I have this salsa on my list, along with the other 500 things. Haha, good thing its not any closer or else I would be poor!

Take care sweetheart and feel better! :)

ellie October 22, 2009 at 5:09 am

someone googled “eating cereal bare naked” which led to mine…not sure they found what they were looking for ;)

noodles…have you tried noodle kugel? LOVE IT! Also chow-mein (is that a British Chinese thing?)

Feel better!

Coco October 22, 2009 at 5:49 am

Hell yes I would be the perfect guest to eat protein oats with hahah! And then we would be super women that could dominate the slopes and have a killer day on the mountain. I’m so stoked for christmas!!! I def am making it out to Salt Lake so I can train on my go-kart at the Miller Raceways and then go hit the slopes with you!!!!
Last time I was in Salt Lake I actually went to Noodles and Co!
I love eating noodles in thai dishes like a big bowl of ramen or something like that!

Abby October 22, 2009 at 5:49 am

Hope you feel better (and got my e-card)…at least Marshall is the master of the teapot. Keep sippin’.
As for the dogs, Chauncey always has to sleep under the sheets, so consider yourself lucky that at least she came out eventually. Oy. :)

One of the weirdest search terms I’ve had is “bulge in the sweatpants.” Ummm..wtf?

Chai October 22, 2009 at 5:57 am

Nip it in the bud – “To remove a bud from a plant to prevent flower and fruit from forming.”

Early prevention, is all :-)

I sure hope you CAN nip this sickness in the ugly bud!

Emily (The Experimentarian) October 22, 2009 at 5:58 am

Well I’m glad you liked your Noodles and CO. I always have the WORST luck there! Maybe I’m just a big eater, but I feel like most of their portions are really small. Last time we went, I ordered EXTRA veggies and my noodles came out with approximately 2 pieces of broccoli and 3 slivers of carrot. Never again. Boo.

Speaking of DOMS, wanna know something weird? I killed my arms yesterday during my workout, but my LEGS hurt today. Wtf? ha ha! At least something got worked, eh?

Hope you’re feeling better soon! xoxo

Paige @ Running Around Normal October 22, 2009 at 5:59 am

I loooove reading what people google to get to my blog! “Huge Mouth” cracks me up – wtf?

Mmm Noodles and Co.! You’re right, not cooking is the way to go when sick

snackface October 22, 2009 at 6:10 am

Janetha petha, this was a brilliant way to write a post! You are fantastically creative no matter how poopy you feel! Amaze. I also think I’ve said “poopy” to you way too many times. I’m sorry.

I miss my hairy babies, so you can imagine my delight with today’s puppy pics. I want to squeeze them.

OK, just looked at my analytics. These are good:
-long fingers (truth), victoria’s secret daily leggings (can see how I came up), spinach sprouts (suppose I’ve eaten both), too much bronzer (truth) AND… singer nude. Definitely not truth.

I like my noodle dishes to be from Italia! The only way to go for me!

I really, really hope you feel better soon! Eat a sh.t ton of berries! It works for me.

Oh, and thanks for shirtless Marshall pics…hahaha I’m sorry I’m a creep.

OK, LOVE YOU!!!

Emily (Healthy Fit Mama) October 22, 2009 at 6:24 am

Most of my search terms have to do with almond butter, oats, and egg whites. Can you tell what I eat regularly?! :-)

I’m a sucker for Japanese dishes with soba noodles!

balancejoyanddelicias October 22, 2009 at 6:30 am

I like pad thai or asian noodles… anything with sesame oil would be just great!
those are fun search key words… mine lately has been POM, pomegranata, fruit monster. ? where is comes from? anyway… and balance.

half life packed already? good job!

julie October 22, 2009 at 6:57 am

happy night a year ago that you got penelope! woo hoo :) you gotta get better soon dude. I’m thinkin that the only solution for getting better is for Utah to bring in a TJs.

I’m feelin the glow in the dark collar! Tis the season right

eatolive October 22, 2009 at 6:57 am

so, i’ve totally been saying “nip it in the BUTT,” not “bud,” hahaha wow.

reminds me of how when i was little i used to think the maybelline commercial said “maybe it’s make-believe” instead of “maybe it’s maybelline.” i had a funny mind apparently

and pad thai is my absolutely faaaaavorite dish. love it.

i hope you feel better!!!!

Susan October 22, 2009 at 7:28 am

I have the same sheets! Got them at Walmart and they are suuuper comfy :)

1. Today’s most concerning one so far is “college girl tight shorts.” What I would like to know is, how many pages do you have to go through on Google until you get to my blog? I mean, I bet there are a lot of results for that one! :P

2. I’m with you on the rice noodles! The little thin ones, usually Thai or Chinese dishes.

Feeeeel better!! Hope everything goes okay at the doc! xo

leianna October 22, 2009 at 7:38 am

Moving to Iowa means no more Noddles and Co and Trader Joes for me too:(
Cute dog pics, my cat tries to get under the sheets when I’m making the bed too!

Graze With Me October 22, 2009 at 7:56 am

My husband used to say “nip it in the butt” because that’s what he thought the saying was! I laughed so hard the first time he said it. He also says “the last draw” instead of “the last straw”. I keep correcting him but he always forgets.

I need a TJ’s here in CO as well – I’ve only been to one (in San Fran) and was in heaven!

1) I wish Blogger had those search engine deals…

2) I’d go for asian noodle dishes or italian – I’m not really a big noodle eater though.

FEEL BETTER!

Michelle October 22, 2009 at 8:07 am

Ahh funny! I love reading all the Wordpress searches. :)

Erika October 22, 2009 at 8:16 am

Too funny! I mentioned Miley and her “pole dance” on my blog once and now all the searches relate to that…gross.

allijag October 22, 2009 at 8:30 am

I love EVERYTHING about this post – with the exception of – you are still sick :( Sorry lady! But better now – than in two weeks!!!!!! (know what I’m sayin’!!) :)

Lindsay October 22, 2009 at 9:21 am

Feel better honey! Bailey always jumps on the bed when I’m trying to make it too! Good to know he’s not the only weirdo out there! Happy Owning Penny Anniversary!

april October 22, 2009 at 10:18 am

Haha I love the search engine terms! Lately mine have included the word “sweat”- “sweaty girls” “sweaty women” “sweaty bicep” and plain “sweaty”. What the heck???

I hope you feel better!!

Holly October 22, 2009 at 10:41 am

ummmm the best search term as of late has been, “who couldn’t love a luscious lady with f”…ummm WTF?!?!

feel better love! love all the link love, moving love and all around love in this post. love youuuuuuuu!

Deb (Smoothie Girl Eats Too) October 22, 2009 at 10:42 am

OK totally unPC (I’m gonna do a post on it at some point) but the Brits call cigarettes “fags” It’s an insult to homosexuals everywhere :-D

Not a lame post at all sister.

I got a funny series of photos when Samantha wouldn’t get off the bed when we were making it so she ended up as this little ball in the middle of a well-made bed- too cute :-) LOVeeeee my baby girl!

Whit October 22, 2009 at 10:46 am

search term: embarrassing skirt tucked into underwear

OHHHHH klassy. I like it!

elise October 22, 2009 at 11:06 am

300 pounds of hummus!! yes please :)

im SO sorry youre still ailing.

isnt it hilarious what people google to find our blogs. i personally love wordpress for telling me that!! i get a lot of “naked” and “hippie” things that are quite hilarious. apparently my trip to hawaii, in which i saw nudists bathing by the waterfalls, was a gift that keeps on giving…

traynharder23 October 22, 2009 at 11:12 am

someone googled: second life ripclient
and
cfw um 4X7

Erin October 22, 2009 at 12:01 pm

I LOVE when you do your search words posts!

Aw honey, feel better, ok. Snuggle those doggies.

I could stare at M’s tats forever. Love them!

Search phrases:

trader joe’s green plant juice

crazy kids in crazy house (mind you I have NO kids)

does jeff lewis exercise?

and the best one…. homemade steelers dog apparel!!!!

lowandbhold October 22, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I think to nip it in the bud refers to cutting of a flowers bud so it can’t bloom. Therefore you are stopping something from happening before it even starts :)

This post was not lame! Loved it. I can’t believe you did all that while you were sick though! You’re a machine.

I just had to google DOMS. I am a loser and didn’t know what it meant.

1. “Swallow my goo” and “panties” are two that I do not appreciate. ew.
2. I’m with you on the pad thai! Delish!

Sarah (Finding My Balance) October 22, 2009 at 1:22 pm

Haaa, lol-city. Love it. Your lunchtime wrap looks bomb, as does your noodles&co. supper. nomnomnom.

1. a LOT of my search engine terms are about the nightmare before christmas because i mentioned it once. eesh. my favorite recent one was “im upside down on my computer.” What?!
2. if there are noodles involved, i will probably like it, but i seem to swing more towards the italian side of things…

Devan G Newman October 22, 2009 at 1:36 pm

awe I really hope you start feeling better soon ! :(

I love your puppies. oh my gosh! SO cuttte <3

Kristin October 22, 2009 at 2:32 pm

Aww so sorry you’re still not feeling well! But not having to cook is most definitely a plus. The noodles look awesome!

I am definitely an Italian noodle girl.

I’ve had some funny search engine terms.
“tired typist” (that I am!)
“popcorn picker” (im that too!)
“good david beckham photo” (is there a bad one? lol)

FEEL BETTER!!

xo
K

Brandi October 22, 2009 at 2:49 pm

i love Thai noodle dishes, too :)

Hope the doctor visit went well today and you’re feeling better!

Erica October 22, 2009 at 2:54 pm

oh no! Feel better soon! I hope the doctor gives you some good meds to nip this thing in the bud for sure ;) PUPPPPERS!! Frank hates when I remake the bed and often refuses to get off. hahah. I don’t know which of your guys two puppies is cuter. <3 them both. That wrap looks amazing- just the idea of black beans with peach salsa makes me hungry. Have a good night

Jenny October 22, 2009 at 3:10 pm

aw Marsh (have we clarified if I can call him that yet?) is such a sweetie pie!! and I’m pretty sure that restaurant was created to serve sick people.. it looks so perf. and comforting!

I seriously considered switching over to wordpress just so I could see the search engine terms people use to find me. I can only imagine…

hope your feeling better and smiling on this faboosh thursday, J :) Did you get my email yesterday?! you best of .. if not somebody has got some ‘splaining to do!

<3 <3 <3

Jenny October 22, 2009 at 3:11 pm

okay, bye!

Naomi (onefitfoodie) October 22, 2009 at 3:12 pm

yum that noodle place looks awesome! I love the whole wheat choice too! yours looked SO good!

what a great BF you have making you some theraflu :)

your puppies are supercute!! will they be dressing up for halloween??

hayleycepeda October 22, 2009 at 3:20 pm

Oooh I am sorry you’re sick! Feel better Janetha! Thank goodness you have a loving bf to do sweet things like make you a hot cuppa theraflu and put new sheets on the bed.

You never fail to leave me chuckling over your posts – I too often wonder about certain expressions. Never thought about “nip that in the bud” but I’m sure there’s a story behind it somewhere. Interesting about “the tray of the ute.” My parents are British so they often refer to the trunk of the car as the boot. Then of course there’s lorrie for truck, bonnet for hood, etc, etc, etc. Sometimes it’s like speaking two different languages. My best friend always laughs at me when I say I’m going to open a tin of soup. I still don’t get it…isn’t it a tin??

ALWAYS LOVING pictures of your doggies…you could’ve posted all 10 million of ’em and I would’ve been happy.

Feel better soon!

Lara (Thinspired) October 22, 2009 at 3:24 pm

Isn’t that peach salsa THE BEST?! I have driven miles for that stuff!

Hehe…I have had some fabulous searches to get my blog. Of course I am struggling to think of them now, but the one that pops into my head was “bingeing on cereal.” Great.

I prefer my “noodles” in pasta form. So, Italian ;)

Angharad (Eating for England) October 22, 2009 at 3:56 pm

Haha! I need to switch to Wordpress really soon. I entered that same search term into google and yours and Holly’s blogs both came up several times…mine? Not once!! FAIL.

Thanks for the shout out lover. I keep meaning to tell you – love the collage usage! Yeah!

Dear Penelope Jane, If you ever need someone to hang out with, I am here to be your friend for life and play mate. Sincerely, Angharad x

1) Boo.
2) I think thai! But maybe Korean! I’m having Italian ones tonight!
Love to you-FEEL BETTER! xx

Lyss October 22, 2009 at 4:18 pm

i loved this post layout! way to be creative, girl! i hope you feel better soon – it sucks being sick when the weather changes… it takes SO much longer to get over a cold! also… i neeed to go to that noodle place! what a brillz idea! aaaand next time you’re at TJ’s you should try the pineapple salsa – TO DIE FOR!

Michelle October 22, 2009 at 4:36 pm

I loved reading all the comments for this post about ridiculous google searches. My weirdest one has been “sex with nike shorts”. WTF???

kristi (sweet cheeks) October 22, 2009 at 6:21 pm

Mmmm pad thai most def! So GOOD!

I adore your puppers…I just want to give them a big furry hug!

Lynn @ The Actors Diet October 22, 2009 at 7:09 pm

this post is hilarious! i wish blogger gave me that option – would love to see what came up…

inmytummy October 22, 2009 at 8:07 pm

Mine is no fun. Most of the searches are actually things that I wrote about. Bo-ring!

broccolihut October 22, 2009 at 10:23 pm

Ah man. I hope you feel better ASAP.
YAY for doggie pictures–you know how I love them:)
