hi, guys! i am turning the time over to a friend tonight. i have a lot to do before lindsay and katie get here tomorrow. they will be in town through sunday for us to finalize blend retreat details. i want my house to be semi-clean.. i mean, with the pups it really is never entirely clean.. but at least i can make it bearable. i am also going to see face to face tonight–one of my favorite bands of all time! i am super pumped.

anyway, here’s lauren!

Hello, Meals and Moves readers- I’m thrilled to be back to take over Janetha’s blog for the day! I’m Lauren and I write a little blog called Oatmeal after Spinning.

Me and Janetha at Blend Retreat last year.

As you’re reading this, I’m probably in my car, making my way across the country from Maryland to Colorado to move to my new home! In the meantime, I wanted to share something with you that I have grow to love over the last few months: Jamberry Nails!

Jamberry Nails are nail “shields” (or wraps, if you prefer) that adhere to your natural fingernails without causing any damage like an acrylic tip would. They are super easy to apply and stay on fingernails for 2 weeks, and toenails from 4-6 weeks. They come in over 250 patterns and colors, there’s no drying time, and there are no harsh chemicals. They make it easy to make your nails look amazing at home for much cheaper than normal manicures!

They’re super easy to apply (here’s a video to show you how). I became interested in Jamberry Nails after I kept seeing them on my friend Sara’s fingernails. To be honest, I never ever paint my nails, because I just don’t see the point. I use my hands a lot (who doesn’t?) and my nails are usually chipped hours after I paint them. I also have a big problem with my nails breaking easily. I usually wouldn’t gravitate towards some kind of flashy design for my nails, but thought what the heck and chose a crazy (for me) design for my first try (which you can see here!). The nail shields lasted for two weeks and allowed my nails to grow without breaking! From that point on, I was hooked!

Right now, I have the hombre design on my nails:

Here’s a close-up (ignore my super dry hands…)

I’ve been been pretty tough on these nails this week from all of the packing up boxes for my move- and they still look great!

Here are a few other examples of the hundreds of designs you can choose from:

And if you’re not into crazy patterns, you can choose from some of the more tame designs:

solid patterns

They come in children’s sizes too! Here’s an example of the “adult” size watermelon pattern next to the kid’s size

How cute is that?!

Naturally, these two designs made me think of Janetha:

Like I said, there a hundreds of different designs that you can see in the online catalog. Just to warn you – there are way too many good ones to choose from…

Because I love Jamberry Nails so much, I wanted to give one lucky reader a sheet of nail wraps of their choice!

To enter, go check out the online catalog and leave a comment below telling me which design you like the best. And, if you can’t wait, you can buy them now right here for Janetha’s exclusive online party! Just remember to select “Janetha’s Jamberry Party” at checkout.

And, if you buy three sheets of nail designs, you get one free!

A winner will be chosen one week from today and announced here on Friday, May 3. Good luck!

I love the lavender sparkle!

Ali April 28, 2013 at 4:32 pm

I love the Nautical theme or the Singin’ in the Rain (so fitting; especially living in Vancouver where it’s been a non-stop rainfest lately!) :)

Leah April 28, 2013 at 5:12 pm

So so SO many choices how do you choose?! I really like the mint green and gold horizontal pinstripe design but there are so many others!

Christina D April 28, 2013 at 9:37 pm

I totally couldn’t wait so I just placed my order!! I was so sad the coral shimmer was out of stock, I would have loved to grab that one; but its hard to choose because they’re all so much fun!

Julie April 29, 2013 at 12:10 am

I love the mint and gold stripes. That’s my favorite color combo!

Julia @cookandburn April 29, 2013 at 7:35 am

The Colorful Modern Flower design is calling to me. I actually bought a set of the Sally Hansen brand nail stickers about 3 months ago and have never used them–just intimidated, for some reason. I’d love to give these a try.

elizabeth April 29, 2013 at 7:47 am

I love the corral kiss shimmer! I have been eyeing products similar to Jamberry for a while now wondering whether they’re worth the $10-$15 or not. Regardless of whether I win or not, I think I’ll order a set to test.

Lauren @ Oatmeal after Spinning May 2, 2013 at 8:31 pm

I was skeptical too, because I NEVER get my nails done. And honestly, I am cheap about stuff like that! But, you can usually get 3 manicures from one sheet and they last 2 weeks. And now I’m HOOKED.

elizabeth May 13, 2013 at 8:03 am

Awesome, I am definitely ordering them now!!! I don’t want to pay $30+ every couple weeks for a gel manicure and I hate that regular polish chips so quickly.

Alexandra April 29, 2013 at 10:19 am

I love the coral kiss shimmer or solid! I have seen these on quite a few blogs and am thinking that its time to finally order a set to try out :)

Omg, I want them ALL!! I had NO idea they had so many! The flowers, the polka dots, the giraffe print, THE MUSTACHES!!! Ahhhhh! <- Yeah, please excuse the fact that my sensory overload/ADHD prohibits me from acting like a normal person in the sight of shiny/sparkly/pretty things! ;)
