in honor of earth day, nature’s path is giving away a YEAR supply of nature’s path cereal! to enter the year supply giveaway, simply go to their blog and leave a comment telling them what you are doing to leave the earth better than you found it.

i have tried several nature’s path items in the past and talked about them here on my blog. i always love working with the company because they are SUCH down to earth people. they aren’t a huge corporation and they keep what’s important in mind, including the environment.

nature’s path sent me three of their organic products to help me kick off earth day with an organic bang.

to the gluten free crowd: this one’s for you!

IMG_1617

i may have a new favorite cereal, folks.

IMG_1627

all the nature’s path products i have tried, i have loved. it is just an added bonus that they are a stand-up company. nature’s path isn’t only working on helping mother earth with what’s inside their packaging.. but also with the packaging itself! a bit about nature’s path packaging:

The path to sustainability is now paved with recyclable[i], resealable, stand-up cereal bags. The new Eco Pacs offer numerous savings, including:

· 437 tons of paperboard saved per year, which equals about 2,237,440 newspapers!

· 7,464 million BTUs of total energy saved, which equals the energy used by over 24,965 100W light bulbs for 1 year!

· 1,389,323 lbs of greenhouse gases saved, which is like taking 225 cars off the road for 1 year!

· 826,542 gallons of wastewater saved, which equals about 1.5 Olympic swimming pools!

· 248,383 lbs of solid waste diverted, which equals the garbage from 350 people for 1 year!

wow, thanks for carding about the planet, nature’s path!

I drink water out of my camelbak every day!

Callie @ Callieflower Kitchen April 22, 2011 at 5:36 pm

I try to make the earth a better place by eating a more plant-based diet :)

Ellie April 22, 2011 at 5:38 pm

Ahh I want to eat these things! I try to be nice to mother earth by bringing reusable totes to the grocery store and by driving as little as possible.

Lindsey April 22, 2011 at 5:45 pm

I will pick up trash that I see laying around the sidewalk dring my morning walks. I also make sure to bring my reuseable grocery bags when I go to the supermarket!

Lindsey April 22, 2011 at 5:46 pm

I “liked” them on Facebook and posted that you sent me!

Lauren April 22, 2011 at 5:50 pm

I have my own garden and use almost everything I plant every day when it’s in season. It makes me feel so good to grow my own veggies. I’m not only helping the planet, I’m helping myself.

Lauren April 22, 2011 at 5:50 pm

Liked them and commented on FB!

Pam April 22, 2011 at 5:51 pm

Val April 22, 2011 at 5:54 pm

I always make sure to be recyclable products whenever possible, and always bring my reusable bags wherever I go!

Ash April 22, 2011 at 5:56 pm

I walk whenever possible to places instead of driving a car, recycle, and take quick showers. Just to mention a few!

Felicia April 22, 2011 at 6:07 pm

We use reusable bags and coffee mugs!

squigglefloey April 22, 2011 at 6:11 pm

I ride my bike everywhere! I don’t have a car

Jessica P April 22, 2011 at 6:18 pm

My city doesn’t pick up recycling but I still save it and drive across town to recycle. I also like to smile at strangers….:) Doesn’t that make the world a better place?

*Andrea* April 22, 2011 at 6:19 pm

i go to farmer’s markets as often as possible!

Juliette April 22, 2011 at 6:19 pm

I am working on using less waste, such as reducing the amount of paper towels/napkins I use & swap them for cloth ones. I am also gearing up my bike so I can ride to work at least one day out of my work week.

P.S. Those pumpkin-n-spice chewy granola bars look yummy! Happy Earth Day!

Amanda April 22, 2011 at 6:21 pm

I stopped buying bottled water and got a Brita! It’s saved tons of plastic.

melissa April 22, 2011 at 6:23 pm

I teach my preschoolers how to respect and care for the world we live in. I turn off the lights when we go outside for recess and we collect scraps of paper to use for crafts instead of a fresh piece every time. :)

Happy Earth Day!

Carol April 22, 2011 at 6:27 pm

I try to run all my errands at one time (to cut down on gas), we plant a garden and try to buy local as much as possible and I have switched my cleaners to all natural ones.

rebecca April 22, 2011 at 6:29 pm

i have tried to slowly incorporate ways of treating the environment better in to my household like using a brita and reusable water bottles instead of buying plastic bottles and buying only local grass-fed/cage-free meats and eggs…and i don’t have a car! living in NYC forces me to walk A LOT and take public transportation for commuting to work :)

Amy April 22, 2011 at 6:30 pm

I use my camelback every day-I haven’t bought a water bottle in months!

Tessa @ Amazing Asset April 22, 2011 at 6:39 pm

I bike and walk to get around campus and when I am home!

BroccoliHut April 22, 2011 at 6:51 pm

I re-use all my nut butter jars by making them into food storage containers!

Suzanne April 22, 2011 at 6:53 pm

Yum! I always pack my lunch with reusable containers and bring my own silverware.

Cherlyn April 22, 2011 at 7:01 pm

I love to plant trees and flowers! This makes both me and the earth happy!

Sara April 22, 2011 at 7:11 pm

I literally “run” errands. If I can do something I have to do anyway while out on a run, I do it!

Sherry April 22, 2011 at 7:39 pm

I use cloth grocery bags at the store, I walk/ride bike when possible, I recycle, and I re-use jars/containers and find new uses for them instead of just throwing them in the trash.

Ashley April 22, 2011 at 7:44 pm

I make my own laundry soap from all natural ingredients!

demureprincess7(at)gmail(dot)com

Yin April 22, 2011 at 7:56 pm

I don’t use bottled water. I just boil hot water and wait for cool down and put it in my bottles to take to work :)!

sophia April 22, 2011 at 8:05 pm

I love my two legs, because I walk everywhere. I even try to use less public transportation and hang out locally. If I need to use a car, it’s usually car pool in a considerable group. I’m also ditching cleaners and household supplies to make my own natural dish washers and sanitizers.

sophia April 22, 2011 at 8:05 pm

“liked” and commented on FB! :-)

Amanda T. April 22, 2011 at 8:08 pm

I try to eat as many raw vegan foods as possible.

Julie April 22, 2011 at 8:26 pm

Hi! Happy Earth Day!
I turn off the water while brushing my teeth! And I unplug all my appliances when I’m not using them! Like the coffee maker, cell phone charger, etc…

Jen April 22, 2011 at 8:37 pm

We’re doing right by the Earth in our backyard by making our own awesome compost with which we grow awesome fruits and vegetables!

snackgirlgoeshealthy April 22, 2011 at 8:41 pm

I ALWAYS reuse my water bottles for at least a week or two or three! until they get lost! :)

clairedille April 22, 2011 at 10:20 pm

Eating a plant based diet really is the thing I think I do best for this earth, but recently I bought a super efficient hybrid that I think will really help this earth. I hope more people will realize how cheap they are to maintain to and fill with gas. I drive constantly shopping for work and hardly fill the gas tank!

Amy April 22, 2011 at 10:26 pm

I turn the water off when I brush my teeth!

thebeautynotebooks April 22, 2011 at 10:53 pm
