cinnamon spiced coffee protein milkshake.

this is a perfect post-workout recovery shake! or an anytime treat~ it tastes just like an ice cream shake :)

ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 cup black coffee
  • 1 scoop BSN lean dessert cinnamon roll protein powder
  • 1 scoop secure coffee powder (check this new product out here!) ((can omit if you don’t have this~ then subtract 70 cals/9g carbs/7g protein/1.5g fat))
  • 10-12 cubes of ice
  • 1/2 tsp xanthan gum
  • 1/4 tsp guar gum
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • more cinnamon and coffee beans to garnish, if desired

directions:

blend all ingredients. you can pop this in the freezer for a bit before drinking, if desired.

i substituted the coffee powder for nescafe greek coffee (powder). delicious!

First of all this shake looks great – would be great for a morning breakfast shake! I have a question…

Does the xanthan gum and guar gum really make a big difference in protein shakes? I assume it’s for thickening? I’ve never tried either of them in a shake.

They really transform the smoothies! They are just thickening agents but they really do a number on them!
