Hello,
I was reading about the ‘Body For Life’ and I was wondering what would be good examples of the carbs, fats and proteins your were mentioing that should be in the diet?
carbs include fruits, whole grains, sweet potatoes, brown rice, oatmeal, etc.. protein is lean beef/chicken/turkey/fish, eggs, protein powder, greek yogurt.. fats include nuts, avocado, coconut oil, peanut butter, etc… this is a limited list, obviously!
Could you do a simple post on how your mom makes her salad you always talk about? Does she make it ahead of time or right before eating time? Looks like there are chunks of avocado, some radishes, romaine……I don’t know what else. thanks.
You mean the salads I sometimes post from Sunday dinner at her place? It typically has romaine, radishes, avocado, red onion, red bell pepper, cucumbers, and sometimes cherry tomatoes. We make it right before dinner and serve it with an array of dressings!
I have been frequenting your blog lately and like reading your posts because they are super fun to read. Your BFL transformation is amazing ! Love it.
I want to start a new fitness regimen starting from Jan 1st. I was thinking of either Body for Life or Cross-fit. I know a little bit of both of them and will continue to read and research about them but would like to hear it from someone who has done both. Which one do you recommend ?
My background- I am 5.2 and 109 pounds..with a petite frame..I don’t need to lose weight but would like to tone overall body. I have done a lot of fitness DVD’s and am a runner too..
Janetha, Thanks for the suggestion and for the quick response :) I am planning on trying your go-to-lower body workout this evening..with some 10’s and 15’s though..
You look super strong in those videos.
We also have a content sharing partnership with CNN and they have posted the article on their website, and wanted to see if you would grant us permission to send them the photo of your Garlic Crab Stuffed Mushrooms.
Appreciate the fast response!

Great blog! wish I would have found it long time ago!
I read your blog from 2011 about “gut update” , the pictures you posted are exactly how I have been looking for 14 years! I do work out, and eat balanced and healthy but, unless I dont eat absolutely anything for 2 days, my belly is always bloated. I was wondering if you can tell me what the doctors finally found, just to get some clues because nobody seems to find what is wrong with me.
Thanks so much for posting your BFL recipes! I love BFL, too and it got me into great shape! Post pregnancy I really wanted to dive back into it full force, but found that the website didn’t have the community recipes as it once did. I am so glad you have some and I look forward to adding them to my collection!
I have huge admiration for your blog, and believe that you are invaluable source of advice and ideas for everybody. I was particularly inspired with your take on healthy lifestyle, so I decided to send you this email.

For you latest post you closed comments so I didn’t know where to post this. What worked very well for my son who just turned 9 months old and is now on all formula is to start with say 1/5 formula and 4/5 breast milk in one bottle. Then try 1/4 formula, then 1/3, 1/2, etc. Your son will get used to it.
I am looking for information about other “Janetha” people. I am trying to find the women, that I was named after. I was born in Wyoming, 1939. My mother Viola, took care of a baby with the name Janetha. Seem two sisters, expecting at the same time, had 2 names picked out. The first one that give birth got to choose which name they wanted. The “Janetha” I am looking for was born in Midwest or Edgerton Wyoming about 1929 or so.
My mother is now 96 and can not remember the family name, only that she fell in love with this baby as a teenager. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Janetha
I hope you find your answer! I think we corresponded on Facebook, before I saw this comment. I am wondering if the Janetha I was named after could be the Janetha that was named after the one you are looking for? Her last name was Hancock, and she was an attorney in Utah, but I know nothing more of her. Best of luck!

Hey! BFL is more for weight loss.. if you are looking for muscle gain, I would say give CrossFit a shot! xoxo
