screen shot.

in random rambles

something i love, love, love about iphones is the ability to take a screen shot. back, years ago, when i had a droid.. i googled how i could POSSIBLY take a screen shot of my phone because i wanted to send what was on my screen to another person, or i wanted to post it here on my blog. i post screen shots on here all the time.

turns out i would have had to jailbreak my droid, which was a lot more trouble than it was actually worth, so i let go of that hope. then i got an iphone and all was right in the world! i take screen shots like it’s my job. i probably have more screen shots on my phone than i do actual photos.

i thought it would be a fun friday activity to share some of the screen shots in my album. yay, mindless fun. just what i need!

in no particular order…

MY SHINS ARE CONSTANTLY ITCHY! like.. so bad. just my shins. so i googled it. turns out, it’s a pregnancy thing. WEIRD.

i screenshot this recipe from amanda. i am a weirdo and like to keep my text message inbox clear, so i delete the conversations multiple times a day. but sometimes there are important texts, like this recipe, so i take a screenshot. i want to make this salad so much!

speaking of food.. i also screen shot delicious things i see on instagram and want to re-create. like this wrap of amazingness.. doesn’t it look perfect?!

something i am addicted to is taking those damn buzzfeed quizzes that tell me what saved by the bell character i am, what my dream home should look like, what city i should actually live in, and what cereal i am. i then text the results to my two BFFs, who are equally as into taking these dumb quizzes. for the record, i am lucky charms. THE ONE CEREAL I DON’T LIKE. wtf?

also, i have mainly recessive genes. although i didn’t need a quiz to tell me that. marshall has mostly dominant, so i am sure this baby will come out looking like him. that’s okay, he’s quite attractive.

i went to dinner last night with friends for nick’s birthday. i took a screen shot of my friend’s IG post so i could repost.

and then everyone mentioned my belly.. oh, yeah. it’s growing. 17 weeks today!

speaking of pregnant bellies.. maternity clothes are pretty awful.  these pants on zulily were awful enough for a screen shot that i could text to my friends. who wears this stuff?? and are you kidding me.. $155 retail, $70 on sale?? NEVER.

although i will hand it to zulily, this tank is pretty cute. i just never know what size to buy and they don’t have returns, so i never end up ordering anything.

i want these shoes. in ALL the colors, please and thanks.

I CANNOT BELIEVE LULULEMON IS CHARGING $200 FOR THIS. i also can’t believe it’s sold out. wtf?

i see things on instagram quite often that are worthy of screen shots that i can then pass onto friends via text or re-instagram them myself. or put in posts like this. here are a couple gems.

yep. pretty much. i eat lots of burgers these days.

THESE NAILS! sooo cute.

these ones, too!!

this quote. never heard it before and REALLY like it.

i sent this screen shot to marshall today because i was pretty impressed. we bought a movie on amazon instant video the other day and it kept buffering. we didn’t complain or anything. but then this email came…

such great customer service! we didn’t even mention it to anyone, they did that on their own! bravo.

okay.. this is pretty long. i had more waiting in the wings, but i will stop here. that was fun. i will probably do that again.

hope you guys have a good weekend! what’s on the agenda? i am getting my first maternity massage at mindful women spa—can’t wait to see what that’s all about.  aside from that i am not sure what i’ll do. looking forward to a no-obligations weekend that i can just play by ear. those are the best!

1. screenshot fans.. what is the last thing you took a screenshot of?

2. what’s the most you would pay for a dress?

Love the screen shots. I don’t do that but it’s a great idea! I had one pregnancy massage – my piece of advice – make sure the room is not too hot. I got so nauseated, I had to cut the massage short! It was a bummer.

Erica March 21, 2014 at 6:42 pm

I think your belly looks just perfect. People forget that when you’re a mini muffin, that baby has no where to go but out ;) J has dominant genes (I just wrote jeans) too and baby Kay looks a lot like me ;)- ya never know! I am a cheapo….I look for bargains on all my clothes. I barely paid that much $$ for my wedding dress

Lindsay March 21, 2014 at 6:51 pm

Fun post :D I take lots of screen shots, too! I think my last one was a cool quote on Instagram. Boring.

June March 21, 2014 at 6:53 pm

The $198 was wrong on lulu website. It’s actually $128. Just FYI :) glitch on download of product

Emily R March 21, 2014 at 7:16 pm

I take tons of iphone screenshots…the last one I took was of a text, haha.

the most I’d ever spend on a dress is probably $100-ish. I’d have to REALLY REALLY love it to do that. Most of the time I look for dresses on the sale rack ;)

your baby bump is adorable!!!

purelytwins March 21, 2014 at 7:16 pm

haha love this as we take screenshots ALL the time and we thought we were the only ones ;)

and that is way too much money for a lululemon dress

Julia March 21, 2014 at 8:18 pm

You can take screenshots on android phones now! You press volume down and the power button at the same time. I did not know that this feature hasn’t always been around.

Lili March 21, 2014 at 11:55 pm

Fun post, I take screen shots of food and the resize them. Lol.

Pua March 22, 2014 at 12:36 am

I don’t really take screen shots, but I did just pin that turkey wrap!!

Jenn @ Mark My Miles March 22, 2014 at 3:13 am

I am not good at remembering to take screen shots but love seeing them on posts like these. Loving those nails!!!!

Sara @ LovingOnTheRun March 22, 2014 at 4:54 am

I love taking screen shots as well! I do it A LOT for instagram so that I can reference recipes and such for later like you did.

Tracey March 22, 2014 at 5:01 am

Ok, embarrassed to say this..but what exactly is a screen shot?

lindsay March 22, 2014 at 5:53 am

wait, you don’t wear bell bottoms anymore? I guess i need to change my style.
<3 you belly bumpin mama to be

Linz @ Itz Linz March 22, 2014 at 5:57 am

when i first bought maternity clothes, i ordered from old navy online… there are great sales, free shipping (once you spend enough) and returns are super easy… i ordered a couple different sizes to get a feel because i had no idea either! last thing i screen-shotted (lol??) was a dress my sister wanted me to order for my baby shower!!

Sara March 22, 2014 at 6:46 am

I don’t even know how to take a screen shot with my iPhone…. looks like I should know. Fun post!

If I ever paid major moola for a dress it better make me look like Charlize Theron. ;) ha! And, that dress most definitely would NOT.

Kerryne March 22, 2014 at 6:50 am

Love screenshots I have a bazillion on my phone too, mostly recipes

Madeline March 22, 2014 at 5:03 pm

Pregnancy clothes are SO awful. I’m only 14 weeks and don’t need them quite yet, but I’ve been poking around and I’m pretty sure I’ll just be living in maxi dresses this summer!

Bria @ Yoga with Bria March 22, 2014 at 6:51 pm

Screen shots rule! And a belated congrats on your pregnancy, lady. Wishing you, Marshall, Penny, Randy, and the growing lil baby all the best.

Joy March 23, 2014 at 5:29 am

Seeing as I only paid $250 for my wedding dress I’d never pay $200 for a regular old every day dress! I’ve screen shot 3 things this morning – it’s 6:25… A recipe for moscato strawberry lemonade, if your iPhone 4S works you can trade it in and get a 5s for $1 (my niece wants to upgrade) and the cute flask that Katrina gave karena (of tone it up)

Nikki March 23, 2014 at 7:50 am

I can take screen shots with my Samsung Galaxy S III. As for maternity clothing, you get your same size. For example I am 25 weeks pregnant and bought size small tank tops from Old Navy a few weeks ago since I was a small before. They fit perfectly and I can tell even a few months from now they will still fit. That’s how maternity clothes are made.

Ashley March 23, 2014 at 11:02 am

Pink Blush Maternity is my go to for maternity clothes. Very stuff, comfy and cheap…plus they always have sales on their site. Highly recommend!!

Jess March 23, 2014 at 1:16 pm

I went from iphone to droid, so you can totally do screen shots now, yay! The last screenshot I took was a picture of the movie Frozen. That’s a little embarrassing. On a side note, so happy to see that you’re posting more! I hope that you’re feeling better!

betty March 24, 2014 at 6:33 am

i screenshot all the time. I’m constantly texting my sister, so i’ll send her stuff I think is funny. I also do recipes, sometimes workouts, and cute animals.

the most I would pay for an everyday kinda dress? 50-75? special occasion, maybe up to 150? I cant imagine buying that lulu dress though, seems to simple for such a high price tag.

love this post! and you!

Elizabeth March 24, 2014 at 7:45 am

I would be lost without screenshot. I use it primarily to share the jokes I intend to share with my sister via text because they are too colorful to share on social media.

Jen@HealthyFoodandFamily March 24, 2014 at 4:04 pm

$200 for that dress?! Heck to the freaking no. It’s ugly and WAY over priced!!!

I love the screen shot feature on my iPhone, I use that beast for everything.

Annette@FitnessPerks March 24, 2014 at 4:09 pm

Old Navy has some pretty cheap, cute maternity stuff too! I got maternity jeans for 12$ that were pretty fab.

Love the bump!

Janetha March 25, 2014 at 8:58 am

That’s where I got my one and only pair of jeans! And they were like $8 after a coupon lol yay

Paige @ Your Trainer Paige March 24, 2014 at 4:55 pm

Yes! I love taking screen shots! My favorite is that I can make pictures out of videos:)

LG March 25, 2014 at 9:40 am

What – you don’t like those maternity pants? Shoot! I ordered 5 pairs for you and they are on their way to your house right now!

Janetha April 2, 2014 at 2:55 pm

lmao <3

Heathers Looking Glass March 26, 2014 at 3:11 pm

My shins itched like CRAZY last week, i was putting so much lotion on them, but then it just stopped. Weird. Pregnancy is weird.

Janetha April 2, 2014 at 2:54 pm

Maria March 28, 2014 at 2:56 pm

I hate how most maternity things look on me: being short and pregnant is hard! So instead of buying maternity things on zulilly, I just buy the cute baby clothes instead.

I think the most I paid for a dress was maybe $90? But it was a dressier frock from Banana and both the color and cut were phenom!

Jaime March 28, 2014 at 3:41 pm

Too funny…I just screenshotted a bunch of stuff last night…I go through phases. I get so annoyed that Instragram photos can’t be saved!

Do you know about the Repost app? It’s super useful for reposting Instragrams!

Last thing I screencaptured last night was an IG posted by @eatliverun about a great book she’s reading, so I remember to look for it next time I’m book shopping.

Jenn - Girl Heroes April 2, 2014 at 7:02 am

Ok now we are back on the same page. :-) I take screenshots for everything. Those pants are hysterical and those shoes…wtf!!! As far as maternity workout clothes I didn’t buy one item. Seems like such a waste of resources. I’ve been wearing old stretched out pants and a pair of big shorts. I’ve gained 40 lbs too so they aren’t looking all that awesome but I workout in campgrounds with octogenarians so who cares!

Jenn - Girl Heroes April 2, 2014 at 7:05 am

Sorry I just saw you liked the shoes and not the dress. Ooops! We’ll almost the same page. That dress…$200 crazy.
