dos años.

in meals

don’t pay any attention to the spanish title. i am just trying to embrace the mexican heritage i married into. with a last name like “gallegos”, you really have to know a few spanish words. (and with a first name like “janetha”, you have to have a lot of patience because everyone is going to say it wrong.. but that is a story for another day..) actually, “dos años” are two spanish words that i already knew before i was a gallegos.  i know, i am so cultured.

so what does it all mean? well, you don’t have to know spanish to know that it means TWO YEARS.

two years of what, exactly?

well, two years of meals & moves. that’s what.

today.

april 20, 2011.

i don’t use that word that starts with a “B” and rhymes with smogiversary, so don’t even try to wish me a happy one.

instead, watch this video, from me to you.

and accept my sincerest thank you, from the bottom of my little blogger heart, for reading this little blog of mine.

i’m gonna let it shine.

for at least dos more años.

dos años giveaway ends saturday, april 23rd at midnight. or somewhere around there. i will announce the winner on sunday.. so just get your entry in before then.

oh, and if you didn’t take the time to watch the video.. then you are missing out on a sweet giveaway.

but i understand if you don’t want to watch the video.

i am a little loony.

best of luck!

thanks a million. and one. i love you guys so much. sappy, but true.

I love your blog because your personality shines through! I also love that we get a glimpse into your life . I love hearing stories about what you’re up to (and also about your theories – I usually agree!)
Congrats on two years!

Ummm, your gum talk made me FINALLY buy some guar gum yesterday and I put it in my smoothie today and OH MY it was the most amazing thing ever. I think I used more than I needed, because it became pudding-like in consistency, whereas it’s usually watery….it was SO. GOOD. Thank you so much, Janetha!!!

I just came across your blog recently and am enjoying reading it because I’ve gone through a lot of the same things as you, but you’ve had the courage to make changes in some ways that I haven’t yet, so you are an inspiration! :)

My favorite bar is also the Simply Bar Lemon Coconut (I don’t get why so many people like the coffee chocolate one better…??!!)
The gums are a good addition :D
And I need a reusable water bottle…I need to save the planet.
It doesn’t really matter if the waffle mix box is not entirely new, lol…youre too kind. And you do have a lot helicopters where you live!! :p

I read your blog because I like your workout and easy recipes. And your way of writing has a ”positive karma” to it (brings a smile, you know?) :)

I love the casseroles you post! We’ve made (versions of) 2 of them, I think, and I’m happy to say it has brought casseroles back into my life! Being a southern girl, I didn’t realize how much I missed them until you started posting about them! lol

How about congratulations to two fantastic years of self-growth, progress, fun, fitness and friendship?! SO HAPPY FOR YOU and for the chance to share in your life!! I love Penny’s appearance! What I would love to see more on your blog: more of you and your thoughts, life, past etc. I think this year you have really opened up and evolved, and I feel like I have gotten to know you (and what an awesome person you really are). This is why I read your blog. Not for the awesome recipes etc, because there are a lot of recipes on the web. i read it for your thoughts, your take on things etc, because I relate to you. xoxoxo love ya,
Barbara

Joanna April 23, 2011 at 5:47 pm

Congrats on 2 years! I read because of your honesty, meal ideas, tips, and just because you’re fun! I’d love to continue to see recipes (and I’m one of those people who likes to see cals too) and more tips of how to eat with a significant other while not eating exactly the same things or amounts. That has been helpful. Thanks! :)

I started reading your blog because your abs are redonk! Congrats on 2 years!

Diana April 23, 2011 at 8:03 pm

I have been reading your blog for a long time now (I am one of the anonymous readers, out of hiding!), and I started reading it and continue to read for the logical and sane way you seem to go about eating and exercising. I’ve been trying to eat more intuitively and healthily, and being able to see someone do it and explain what works for you is really great. It motivates and keeps me positive about changing your lifestyle longterm. Your story has been inspirational and motivating. It’s weird, but I feel support for my own progress when reading your blog and relating to your writing. So, thank you for putting it out there!

I know I totally missed the giveaway (which I’m kicking myself for!), but I just HAD to leave a comment! Happy 2 years!!

I’ve been reading your blog for about 5 or 6 months and I love it! Meals & Moves is so…you! Real, honest, and totally entertaining. Whether it be a story about the past, the pups, or what have you, I always look forward to reading your posts (and I hate when I can’t keep up!). You are awesome chicka and I wouldn’t want you to change a thing!

Happy Dos Anos!
