How to Transition your Workout Clothes
By J from J’s Everyday Fashion

I’m going to start off by being totally honest with you guys – despite my intense love for fashion, I was totally that girl leaving the gym in giant man-sweatpants and sneakers a couple years ago. It got so bad that my husband actually begged me to throw the sweatpants away (which I did, begrudgingly).  Why did I fail so miserably in this aspect of my usually fashion-forward life? Because it was cold in Boston (where I was living) and after working out, I just wanted to drag my tired self out of the gym as quickly as possible. Except… sometimes you need to stop at the grocery store, or you meet a friend for coffee. Man-sweatpants might be okay at home (unless the hubs hates them like mine did), but public appearances with these awful pants are not socially acceptable. Do you suffer from man-pant-itus like I did? Please read on.

Enter Brazilian Moda, a workout clothing company owned by a sweet lady named Vanessa here in Orlando (where I now live). She loves fashion and asked me if I could show some fun ways to transition workout clothes after the gym, much like what you see celebs wearing in People magazine. (Don’t they always look adorbs leaving the gym in their yoga pants and traveling coffee?) Clearly, Vanessa didn’t know about my shameful man-pants history, but I love a good challenge so I decided to take her up on it. Here are three examples I came up with for cold-weather gym switch-aroos. Can’t you just see me with a coffee mug and the paparazzi following me? I rest my case. :-)

Extra long top with unique back, $58
Supplex basic capri, $56

How I did it: This look is perfect for days when you didn’t sweat a lot and are running out the door. Just throw on a hooded sweater over your shirt (way cuter than a hooded sweatshirt!) and switch out your gym shoes for some fuzzy boots. You instantly look comfy chic!

(psst… you can receive 15% off your purchase of all the workout gear listed here with code JFASHIONBLOG! It’s good stuff too, I’m currently utilizing the stretchy pants for my first round of Insanity DVDs!)

Supplex Long Tank with criss-cross back, $46
Supplex basic capri, $56

How I did it: After a super-sweaty workout, I always recommend removing your shirt and/or sports bra to prevent breakouts. But don’t just throw on a ratty old t-shirt. Step up your game by wearing a cute, inexpensive graphic t-shirt from Forever 21 or Gap. Throw on an army jacket for a little more coverage, and boots to brave the snow!

Supplex Long Top cut on the sides, $48
Supplex Pants with belt loop and pockets, $85
Touch Light Second Skin Tank, $29 (on sale)
Mesh Sleeveless Vest with Hoodie, $60

How I did it:  I changed out of my sweaty shirt and into a printed top from Brazilian Moda. This top is the perfect cross between workout clothes (so you don’t mind if it gets sweaty) and streetwear (looks cute enough for errands). I also threw on a vest from Brazilian Moda (second picture), and snow boots and a puffer jacket (third picture). Super-warm but still stylish!

I am so sweaty and skanky after any workout that I just don’t see this an option for me… but props on the outfits, they look great! :)

Wow, love those cute outfits!! Since my gym is in our basement you can only imagine what I wear to workout in, haha! But I really do believe that we work a little harder when we are happy and comfortable with what we have on!

p.s. you ought to be a model!

I’m sorry, but those prices are OUTRAGEOUS to sweat in.

I’ll pay good money for shoes, but the $58 clothes wear out as fast of the $28 ones.
