as much as i know you would all like to have the chance to win three french hens.. i am afraid that is not the case for giveaway #3.


(please recite the last line to the tune of “FIVE GOL-DEN RINGS!”.. i know it is #3 and not #5, but come on.. the syllables worked perfectly!)

you heard rudolph. up for grabs is a 4 ounce jar of natural madagascar bourbon vanilla bean paste!


you saw me talk about this stuff in my last post. i picked it up at ross and i just so happened to pick an extra jar up for one of you!


i just love those visible vanilla bean specks.


vanilla bean paste can be used in any recipe that calls for vanilla extract or a vanilla bean.

the exchange:

1 TB paste = 1 vanilla bean

1 TB paste = 1 TB vanilla extract


if you are as vanilla-obsessed as me, then you will want to win this one.

I started a family tradition last year of baking christmas cookied the day before christmas eve and then having my family decorate them that night-so fun! I would definitely use the paste to make some delicious cookies!

I’m not sure how I’d use the vanilla paste – too many options coming to mind! I’m thinking DELICIOUS vanilla frosting to be used on cupcakes, cake, cookies, or to be eaten right out of the bowl?! YUM.

Oh man! I have ALWAYS been a vanilla girl.
I would bake vanilla bean sugar cookies.
And then I would make homemade vanilla bean icecream…
And then?
Put the icecream between two cookies…
A treat in the freezer anytime I want one!!!

How would I use this..i think the question is how wouldn’t I use it! I would make cookies…add some to coffee..and add some to waffles/pancakes!!

Oh this stuff looks so good. Seeing little black vanilla bean specks in a dessert always tells me I’m about to eat something fantastic. I am making iced cardamom cookies for Christmas, and I think this paste would be a delicious addition to them! It would also be awesome in basic sugar cookies.

I saw your post yesterday, headed to Ross after work and bought a bottle. I used it last night in sugar cookies for a meeting today, and everyone said that they were the bomb!! And, I put some in my smoothie this morning. FANTASTIC!! can’t wait to use more! THANKS for the tip!!

I would make rich custardy vanilla ice cream & sandwich it between homemade cookies for a deluxe ice cream sandwiches for me & my boy!

I would make vanilla waffles that sandwich some banana-vanilla-eggs. Maybe throw some vanilla scented almond butter in the sandwich too :)

Something this beautiful deserves to be made into creme brulee. You get to see each individual vanilla bean seeds.

I would actually be really curious to incorporate this into oatmeal!!!! But aside from that…sugar cookies MUST be made :)
