good intentions.

by Janetha on November 14, 2010

in meals

it has been a semi-productive intentions have been good, but my follow through is lacking.

i grabbed an enormous mug of coffee.

i finally unpacked my foodbuzz festival suitcase, but instead of putting everything away, i put everything into piles. i am a chronic pile maker. is there a support group for this?

and instead of putting my suitcase away in the garage, i left it in the hallway. i mean, i am going out of town again next week.. why put it away? right?

i sorted the clean clothes and made a pile of “hang ups”. i even grabbed all the empty hangers from my closet. that is where the project ended.

hanging clothes up is the bane of my existence.

i tore the sheets off the bed to wash them…

but now they are just on the floor, waiting in line for their turn in the washer. because there are clothes in the washer, that will get washed, dried, and add to the never-ending pile of clothes than need to be hung up…

i was going to putty all the holes in my bathroom wall, we have had a horrible experience with an unruly towel rack that never seems to want to stay put.. no matter where we place it on the wall. always falling off or wobbly and loose. i finally ripped the rack off the wall and threw it away. but there are holes. many, many holes.IMG_2333 i opened the jar of putty to find that it was totally hard as a rock. so much for that project. the holes remain.

talk about anxiety.

at least both of my bathrooms are super, duper clean!

did you know that “duper” is a word? or at least firefox thinks so. it didn’t give me a squiggly red line.

i thought about going to the gym. for a few hours, actually. then the clock struck three and the gym closed. so much for that idea.

i ate leftover, cold pizza instead.

marshall & i went to CPK yesterday. i got the pear & gorgonzola pizza on honey whole wheat crust, which was also topped with chicken, chopped hazelnuts and arugula tossed in gorgonzola ranch. i brought half of my pizza home and told marshall he could have it.

sorry husband, i ate it.

he won’t mind. he won’t even notice. he is too busy geeking out, playing warhammer.

yes. it’s true. warhammer.

i feel the same way about it, randy. yawn.

one thing i DID follow through with was buying this cute bookcase from crate & barrel. fun fact: i had a 10% off coupon that expired in october, and it still worked. score!

that was probably a bad idea.. getting online to shop.. because now i am sitting here, procrastinating online, knowing i have so many started chores that i really need to finish.

i can’t even begin to think of where all of this swag from the foodbuzz festival is going to go. i have zero room left in my kitchen.

maybe you guys can take a bit of it off my hands.

1. are you a procrastinator or a (insert word that means opposite of procrastinator here)? i am a PROCRASTINATION STATION. definitely my worst trait. i mean, i haven’t even picked up my wedding photos yet…

2. most hated chore? folding laundry. it makes me cringe.

i would love to win, i need a meat thermometer!

melissadishes November 15, 2010 at 12:48 pm

I would love to win!

I’m only a procrastinator when it comes to certain things. Other times I am a super huge planner.

My most hated chore is cleaning the master bath, because it takes forever. The other bathrooms are smaller and don’t have a glass shower, so I don’t mind them at all.

I’m newly married! Any new kitchen treats are super DUPER helpful!

GetHealthyWithHeather November 15, 2010 at 1:15 pm

Count me in!

I’m a total procrastinator especially when it comes to laundry. I do okay folding but HATE putting clothes away. They basically live in baskets until I wear all the contents.

Valerie November 15, 2010 at 1:22 pm

i’d love to win! i wouldn’t mind taking that swag off your hands.

1. i’m a procrastinator to a degree. some things can always be done later.

2. i hate cleaning in general, but most of all i hate the whole laundry process. if only i had an endless amount of clean clothes. but alas, i’m not that lucky.

That pizza looked pretty good- can’t say I don’t blame you for finishing it off! Thought of you, the pasta queen, last night – I convinced the bf to cook and he made an amazing Italian dish – noodles and red sauce. We hardly ever have pasta – but it hit the spot and I have a feeling my run this evening will be strong.

i’d love to win! fun giveaway. i’m definitely a procrastinator in putting clothes away… folding them is fine but i can just never find the motivation to hang up my clothes. actually though, this year i’m just procrastinating with laundry in general…i’m off campus and our washing machines are always broken and it just seems like quite the production to drive on campus to do laundry

Andria November 15, 2010 at 1:54 pm

I need a meat thermometer! :) And I’m procrastinating my big projects at work.

Elyse November 15, 2010 at 3:25 pm

Hi, I love your blog!! I would also love to win the giveaway! I’m not much of a procrastinator with the exception of certain things… like cleaning pots & pans.. god, there is nothing worse :) Unfortunately, it goes hand in hand with cooking.. so I’m stuck and forced to do it :)

April B. November 15, 2010 at 3:31 pm

I don’t mind doing the laundry but folding it and putting it away is the WORST! Also, I would love to win your giveaway!

Joanna November 15, 2010 at 3:49 pm

Girl, I NEED that bag carrier. I’m “that girl” trying to make it in one trip with 6 bags weighing down each arm. I’d love to win the other stuff too! :)

Kayla November 15, 2010 at 3:55 pm

I’m moving to another apartment and this addition would be fabulous!

Eryn November 15, 2010 at 6:00 pm

Guessing when my meat is finished cooking is not always a good idea, witness last night with overcooked pork chops! I would love to win the fun swag!

kathleen November 15, 2010 at 6:24 pm

what a fun giveaway. i’m putting off a trip to the supermarket–it’s too cold outside, and too cozy in here :)

Dear Janetha, I think we are long lost twins! Ha! J/K. I too am a piler of all sorts including hangers for hanging clothes that I hate to hang. Putting up laundry is my no. 1 most hated chore. I currently have clean crumpled sheets in my hallway that will stay there until I change the sheets on my bed. I feel your pain!

kaitlinwithhoney November 15, 2010 at 7:45 pm

I am totally a chronic pile-maker, too! It’s a problem. Oh, and my most dreaded chore is most definitely taking out the trash. I leave it for my roommate as often as possible. :)

Lindsey November 15, 2010 at 8:53 pm

I wanna win some swag! Pick me Pick me!!! haha

Candice November 15, 2010 at 9:25 pm

hey janetha! Totally with you on the pile thing and the lack of hanging up, putting away laundry thang. Love all the swag! and I have lots of space for it in my new kitchen ;)
ps.. I got the tide sport and it is now one of my favorite things! My laundry has never smelled so good!

i have no idea if it’s too late to enter, but just in case, i’m going to anyways! :) i found your blog over at healthytwists (i used to work with hallie) and really enjoy reading your blog…especially whenever you post about cool slc stuff. my bro and sis-in-law just moved from slc and i’m having the no-more-excuse-to-visit-family-in-slc blues…it’s such a great city!

martha lilian November 16, 2010 at 7:23 am

Ooo! Pick me, pick me! I am a fiend for kitchen gadgets. (Even if it will drive the Mister *nuts* having more of them around the house…)

JW November 16, 2010 at 1:18 pm

Not sure if its too late to enter or not? I’d love to win these gadgets though!

Holly at Greek Yogurt and Apple Slices November 21, 2010 at 10:17 am

I’m jealous of your washing machine. There, I said it :) I love the see thru ones…I’m such a nerd. I think I would just sit there & watch the clothes wash all day!
& I LOVE your bathrooms. I love the designs- they look so modern.
Randy is so stinkin’ cute. I saw a picture the other day that reminded me of Randy, I”ll have to see if I can find it.
