links & rambles.

thanks for all the condolences and prayers regarding my lost camera & lost honeymoon photos. it means a lot to me! and for the record, i have called every lost & found imaginable, posted multiple ads on craig’s list and online camera lost & found websites.. crossing my fingers that something turns up.  i do have a fair amount of honeymoon photos from my DSLR card, so that helps lessen the blow a bit.  but i am still without a camera at ALL.. since one is lost and the other is broken.

so, i have no photos to share today.  i feel super weird not having a camera! it’s the worst. but that doesn’t mean i can’t ramble ;)

last night was the last night with my family (sister, her husband & girls) from california.  it has been so awesome to have them in town, it is hard to be so close with your family members and have them live so far. hurts my little heart. but it does make the moments spent with them all the more better.

so, for one last hurrah, we all got together at my parents’ place for dinner.  marshall took it upon himself to make two mean batches of spaghetti: one with spicy italian sausage and one with lean ground turkey.  i made a huge green salad and momma b was in charge of the watermelon and corn on the cob.. two summer dinner staples in our house.

after stuffing ourselves to the brim with noodles, sauce, salad and bread.. it was time for ice cream ;) funny fact: we got 21 gallons of vanilla ice cream for the wedding.. and we didn’t even go through three of them.

i am not kidding. i think it was because at the wedding, the ice cream was served outside and the rest of the food was served inside and nobody knew about it.  so, do the math.. that is a LOT of extra vanilla bean ice cream! i am not complaining. i love vanilla bean ice cream.  everyone ate theirs a different way: with caramel, with chocolate sauce, with caramel AND chocolate sauce, in a chocolate shake or.. like marshall & i.. in a peach shake. yum.

so, sorry i don’t have photos of all that deliciousness! i assure you, it was amazing. cooking and eating meals with family is one of my favorite things in the world. it just can’t be beat.

moving on!

i thought i would share a few random thoughts and links, just for kicks.

FIRST off!

  • congratulations are in order!!!!!!!!

mary from a merry life text me earlier today and let me know she said YES to her now husband to be!! EEP! that is so, so exciting.  the best part is her fiancee is from new zeland and she is from the states and they actually met through blogging!  talk about a love story in blogland heaven :) congrats, you two!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • there are a lot of words i cannot stand. there is one in particular that i have heard a LOT of lately, due to my new marital status, and i think i better learn to deal with hearing it because everyone (and i mean EVERYONE) i know uses the term.
wait for it.
the word…
hubby.
it makes me cringe. i don’t know why.. but it just makes me clench my teeth and causes my skin to crawl.  but, lots of people use it all the time, so i better just suck it up and get used to it!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • on the food, inc’s facebook page yesterday, they posted about this blog.

image

[source.]

it is a family of four who is attempting a 100-day challenge of eating only whole foods. i spent quite a bit of time reading through the blog.. super interesting! i highly recommend it. good read.

one page on that blog lists ten reasons to cut out processed foods and i thought i would pass along the list:

10 Reasons to Cut Out Processed Food

  1. Processed foods are an illusion, often appearing to be healthy (with claims like low fat, low carb, vitamin fortified, no trans fat, contains omega-3s, etc.) when these foods are in fact the very thing making a lot of Americans unhealthy, sick, and fat.
  2. Coronary heart disease, diabetes, stroke and cancer – four of the top ten chronic diseases that kill most of us – “can be traced directly to the industrialization of our food” according to Michael Pollan.
  3. Making smarter (and sometimes more expensive) food choices now may reduce your healthcare costs later in life.
  4. Why would one want to eat a processed food-like substance that is scientifically designed to never rot?
  5. The food industry has proven that it is not very good at seasoning our foods by adding way too much salt, sugar, and/or oil to almost everything.
  6. When you eat white bread and other foods made with white flour (which is a highly processed version of wheat) you are basically consuming empty calories with far less nutrition than the whole-wheat or whole grain alternatives.
  7. It is estimated that up to 90% of processed foods* in the supermarket contain either a corn or soy ingredient in the form of an additive under a variety of different names. Now how is that for eating variety?
  8. Cutting out processed foods could lead you to experience a variety of personal health benefits such as having more energy, losing weight, improving regularity, or just feeling healthier overall.
  9. Rather than counting calories, watching fat grams, or reducing carbs for “healthy eating”, simply eat whole foods that are more a product of nature than a product of industry. It certainly is less complicated.
  10. It just makes plain old sense to fully understand what you are eating, be able to pronounce everything on the list of ingredients (if there is a list), and know exactly where that food comes from…don’t you think?

*Statistic courtesy of a food scientist interviewed on the documentary “Food, Inc”

[source.]

additionally, the family has come up with a 10-day pledge to cut processed foods out of your own life. check it out. if you complete the whole 10 days, they even send you a fancy bracelet. plus.. it serves a fantastic purpose. you don’t realize the crap that is put into a lot of foods you buy at the grocery store.  no, i am not someone who doesn’t eat ANY processed foods, but i have become incredibly mindful of the foods i am eating and what i am fueling my body with ever since seeing the food, inc. documentary.  eating healthier is not necessarily more expensive (in some cases it is, but not all) but it does take more time and you have to be educated and aware of ingredients in your food and what they are.  i mean, there are SO many different names for sugar.. it may surprise you.  here is a link to a list of just 25 names for sugar.

i am tempted to take the 10-day pledge, but will probably wait until i actually have a kitchen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • today while i was making my salad and adding an abundance of alfalfa sprouts to the top of it, i was cursing the lid to the sprouts.
image
[source.]
IT NEVER STAYS ON. no matter what brand of sprouts i buy, the lid never stays on, ever. it is always popping off in the grocery bag. why doesn’t someone design a better container for alfalfa sprouts? i am not asking you to reinvent the wheel, just create a functional lid.  maybe it’s just me, and you all think i am nuts, but that is my rant for today.
well, in case you don’t, here is a link to one of her most recent posts.  it is all about what YOU define “healthy” as, and i took a lot from her post. i thought i would point you all in the direction of her post, definitely a winner.  it is imprtant to remember that what is healthy for one person and what works for them may not necessarily be the best for you.  instead of trying to imitate what keeps others healthy.. find what works for you and stick with it.  lindsay also provided a list of reasons she deems herself healthy.
here is my list.
i am healthy because:
  • i can run a 10k with ease (maybe more, that is the longest i have attempted)
  • i am aware of the ingredients in the food i eat and not only know the difference between regular ketchup and organic ketchup, but also know why i opt for the organic (aka i know why HFCS and the like are bad for me)
  • i know when to take time off and let my body rest. yes, i’ve been letting my body rest for the past month, but i am talking about when things are back to normal and i exercise regularly.. i take rest days very seriously!
  • i don’t try to compare my meals & moves to the next blogger’s. i eat and exercise according to my own means and what i enjoy and i don’t feel guilty or bad when i read about someone’s meal that was healthier or someone’s workout that burned 3x as many calories than mine.
  • i drink a gallon of water a day, and the only other beverages i consume are black coffee & black tea.  i gave up soda at the end of 2009 and don’t miss it at all.
  • i value the importance sleep and make sure to get at least 7 hours each night.
  • i quit going to the tanning beds over a year ago, i now use sunscreen and if i want a tan, i go to the spray tan lady.
  • i am damn good at pushups.
  • my legs let me snowboard all day in the winter without tiring.
  • i brush and floss regularly!
so that is my list! i will read it when i am feeling like a slug! thanks for the inspiration, lady :)
there is a reason for this, and it is not because i have some creepy internet girl crush on her. (well, at least not that YOU know of.)  it is because she is witty, informative, hilarious, straight-up and just REAL.  i read a lot of blogs, i usually click on hers first.  nothing against anyone else.. i just want to stress just how fantastic her posts are.  she does a couple weekly features that i look forward to each week and they are not to be missed:
  • three things thursday”: 3 rants of the week (i get a kick out of rants!)
  • it’s OK!”: a list of things assuring us that our quirky habits are totally normal
i figured i would take a minute to tell you to add her blog, melissa nibbles, to your reader right now. you can thank me later.
i then allowed my whole lunch break to be consumed by reading j’s fashionista posts. the only other fashion blog i read is my blog friend jenny’s (which i love!) because other fashion blogs really don’t appeal to me.  i am not uber-fashionable and don’t feel like i need to be cutting edge with my style.  by j’s everyday fashion is down to earth and she wears outfits i would actually wear and gives super helpful tips!  her blog is refreshing and fun. check it out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

well, those are a few things that have been on my mind today. hope you enjoyed the randomness! i have a packed to-do list for this afternoon:

  • pick up remaining items from my old house
  • get my stupid fake fingernails removed (and possibly a pedicure while i am at it…)
  • purchase shelf liner for the kitchen shelves/cabinets/drawers so we can finally unpack things
  • call the exterminator because marshall found ANTS in the house! eep!
  • finally go to the gym for the first time in a month. i am pretty dang excited.. no idea what my workout will be, the possibilities are endless!

hope you guys all have a great night tonight and a fabulous thursday tomorrow!

Qs~

1. what is on YOUR “i am healthy because..” list? i would love to hear why you are healthy to YOU.

2. are there any words that just make you cringe? in addition to my rant about “hubby” up there, i also hate the words “panties”, “moist”, “sammy” or “sammich” for sandwich and “blogiversary”.

HAHA….I cracked up when I read about the lid on the sprouts! I hate those stupid lids! I usually end up just sticking them in a ziploc bag because I can never get the lid to stay on ever!

LOVE LINDSAY’S blog…girlfriend totally rocks!!!!

homecookedem July 28, 2010 at 4:27 pm

Haha, no offense to anyone, but hubby bugs me too, but even worse is “the hubs” hahahahahaha!! But lots of my good friends use it and I still love ’em, just makes me kind of giggle when I read it, haha! ;) That’s why I don’t have any cutesy name for Andrew on my blog, he’s just Andrew, haha! ;)

You sure do have lots of ice cream to eat up!! Too bad I’m not there to help you eat lots of yummy sundaes… mmmmmmmm!! :)

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is July 28, 2010 at 4:30 pm

I hate the word panties too! Ugh! Hubby also bothers me but I do use it.

Abbie July 29, 2010 at 2:21 pm

I also despise the word panties. Not gunna lie, they have been and will always be underwear to me!

Stephanie@ avocado nation July 29, 2010 at 8:53 pm

Me too!!! I hate panties and moist. I also hate “sammy” or “samich” or “brekky.” Ughh. It’s not cute.

Andrea@WellnessNotes July 28, 2010 at 4:43 pm

Soooo sorry about your cameras!!!

Well, I hate to admit it, but I’m guilty of using the word that makes you cringe “hubby.” But only on my blog. For some reason I refer to him as “hubby” there, but I actually never ever say the word. So maybe I shouldn’t use it in writing either…

I’m healthy because I’ve learned to take care of myself no matter what. I’ve learned that life often throws you curve balls, but there is no excuse not to eat healthy foods, exercise, take “me time,” and be thankful. Being healthy is really about making consistently good choices (with the occasional splurge and “time off.”).

Carla in Sydney July 28, 2010 at 4:52 pm

I am with you about hating the word “hubby”!!! I also hate “partner”. I just use “boyfriend”, even though it makes me sound like a teenager (we are not married). The other word I hate is “fierce” when describing something good.

So glad you are back and blogging….The guest posts were fantastic and so thoughtful of you but I am happy to read your posts again.

Also – Did you only get false nails for your wedding? I have had mine on for years now and I feel “naked” without them. It is such a pain getting them filled though!

Lauren July 28, 2010 at 4:56 pm

I had no idea that “hubby” made you cringe. I say that one all the time. LoL now I’ll watch myself! ;) The words that I hate are “ain’t” “moist” “pussy” and “beotch” Anytime I hear them I want to rip off my skin!

I love your lists today. The processed food one is great and I am so diggin the ‘I’m healthy because.” Here would be mine…

“I’m healthy because I can wake up every single morning, run for miles, eat nourishing meals, feel amazing about myself, and have a ton of energy.”

Lindsay @ The Ketchup Diaries July 28, 2010 at 5:10 pm

So glad you enjoyed it. and amen to now loving the good ketchup!!!

Jenn July 28, 2010 at 5:11 pm

Hubby doesn’t bother me but most of those other words you mention do.

I’m healthy b/c I don’t eat very much processed food but don’t stress when I do.

lindsay July 28, 2010 at 5:14 pm

I love your rambles, don’t need pics for that. I hat ethe word hubby to, I say “hubs.” I like that a lot better.

Ashley July 28, 2010 at 5:15 pm

I always complain about the alfa sprouts container also!! It’s so annoying and you would think by now it would have changed and been redesigned but of course not. I’ll just have to deal b/c I’m not giving up on them!

I hate the word babe…towards a girl or guy. I’ll never do it.

April July 28, 2010 at 5:36 pm

I hate many words. Delish being one, fantabulous, shmear, surreal, and scrumptious.

April July 28, 2010 at 5:36 pm

Oh, I forgot titties!! LOL!

*Andrea* July 28, 2010 at 5:39 pm

i don’t really like the words moist or hubby either! i also hate ‘the boy’ or ‘man friend’ lol. i prefer to go by names ;)

i do LOVE your list of healthy! the comparison aspect is key in blogging and in life. if you’re comparing yourself to others constantly (with food, jobs, weight, money, etc.) you will never be happy as it’s an endless search since there’s infinite people and things to compare to! anyways, i feel healthy because i can run 6 or 7 miles without stopping, i can enjoy good foods with family and friends, i pursue fun activities like white water rafting and yoga that challenge myself physically and emotionally, i enjoy meditation and mindful awareness retreats, i love veggies and fruits and i don’t obsess over my body but i challenge myself physically and nurture myself emotionally :)

april July 28, 2010 at 5:41 pm

HAHAHAHA i’m so glad I’m not the only one that hates the word panties!!

fitnessandsunshine July 28, 2010 at 5:49 pm

thanks for all those links :) definitely gonna read a couple of em.

I am healthy because the choices I make nourish my body and also challenge me in positive ways, all while keeping me happy. :}

Mary @ What's Cookin' with Mary July 28, 2010 at 5:53 pm

You always make me smile Miss J! Been away from my computer for a while, but good to catch up on all your posts. That thing about the sprout containers is so freakin true! And then not only does it pop open, but when its not toally full, those little seed thingys fall out all over the bottom of the veggie drawer! lol!!

Cringe word: my true #1 cannot be posted in blog comments ;), but I’d have to say is panties, delish, vino (werid one, right?).

Oh yeah… and AHHHHHHHHH you’re married :D :D congrats friend !!!

Chasing the Now July 28, 2010 at 6:19 pm

Wow. That is A LOT of leftover ice cream. But I have a feeling I could take care of that! :)

I’m healthy because I move when I can and try to avoid processed foods when possible.

Mary (A Merry Life) July 28, 2010 at 6:33 pm

Awww, thank you so much Janetha!

ps – We hate all the same words!! That’s funny!

Run Sarah July 28, 2010 at 7:31 pm

I totally agree about the sprouts too, so annoying!! I love J’s blog too as her outfits give me inspiration for combos that are professional and I can wear to work, she’s been in my Google reader for a few months now.

Sara @ Nourish and Flourish July 28, 2010 at 7:44 pm

Can I come over and help you finish the vanilla bean ice cream? It’s my favorite flavor! I don’t like “things” obstructing the creamy texture of my frozen dairy/dairy-less desserts!

Thanks for directing us to the 100 Days of Real Food blog! I’m excited to follow the family…Such a great idea!

“Moist” drives me CRAZY too. However, I confess I have used it a few times…But the only reason is that I can’t come up with a good alternative!

Lindsay July 28, 2010 at 8:36 pm

I agree with you on the word “hubby” it is a little irritating. I always think people should use the proper word. It also irritates me when people talk in “aim” language.
I love all of the new blog recommendations. I think that your recommendations will help me stay awake during my evening shift at work. I work from 3:30pm – 2am!! :)

Angharad July 28, 2010 at 9:21 pm

I love you! I nodded along to so many of the things you said today! Not least of which is the word “hubby” but we’ll get there in a minute…

1) I consider myself healthy because I have a crush on fruits and veggies, I eat well and I run, do yoga and ride my bike a lot! On top of that I think I have a pretty great sense of balance and don’t ever consider not eating something less healthy if I really want it because 80% of the time I pass.

2) Hubby is gross. So is sammie! Are we five years old?! I do say sarnie though so I’m not sure I have any authority on this matter…
I can’t even pronounce “panties” with my accent (thank god) without sounding insane. I hate “lunchy/ie” or “lonchie”?! with a passion.

The end! x

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) July 28, 2010 at 11:15 pm

i would say i eat very, very very little processed food. Pretty much raw plants is what i eat! I do eat sugar though. And happily. When one cuts out animals, gluten, soy, dairy, and most cooked foods…some of those by choice, some by food allergies, then well, sugar is damn appealing LOL

I will click over to that site.

Melissa…another blog i have seen obvi, but dont read, now that i know she’s your #1 go-to, I need to pay more attn!

Words I hate…moist, anal, and a few others which are not really appropriate for this comment field :)

xoxo

Kerry July 29, 2010 at 12:55 am

haha “moist” that is a funny word!! lol!

I’m healthy because i have nothing stopping from achieving anything i want!
I’m healthy (& lucky & grateful) because i have no mental or physical disabilities.
I’m healthy because i lost the weight that would have otherwise stopped me from conceiving my own baby, one day!

MelissaNibbles July 29, 2010 at 2:48 am

Thank you for the shout out! Wow..I’m honored. I feel like Sally Field…you like me!

I hate the word hubby too. Also: moist, panties, and when people say, “Can I ask you a question?” Just ask it!

mayapamela July 29, 2010 at 4:18 am

I cannot stand the word sammie. Blech.

I love your rambles even if there are no photos! Looking forward to the wedding recap.

Kristin (Cook, Bake and Nibble) July 29, 2010 at 4:57 am

21 gallons of vanilla bean? WOAH! I’ll take some :P

I am healthy because…
A run leaves me invigorated, not tired.
I like to talk walks, whenever I can.
I brush my teeth and wash my face twice per day. I wear sunscreen.
I shop in the produce section first, basing my meals on fresh fruits and veggies.
I put spinach in my smoothies.
I actually enjoy salads.
I have run 12 miles.
After months of trying, I can stay in crow pose for more than 5 seconds.
Because I have learned to listen to my body.

I hate the words moist & sammich too! And there is another word I hate, beginning with a C, that all my guy friends LOVE to use, but is not too blogappropriate. Hate it.

I do, however, like the word hubby, it’s kind of funny. But I’m ok that you don’t. I’ll call Marshall your “hus”… is that better? :D

xo
Kris

Talia July 29, 2010 at 5:57 am

Haha, I actually don’t like the word “Hubby” either, but I use it often because you’re right- EVERYONE uses it and it sets stuck in your head!!!

I’m with you on the word “moist”, but I also can’t stand the words:

1) tasty
2) chillin’ /chillax
or the phrases
3) “in the mix”
4) “it is what it is”

:)

Freckled Foodie July 29, 2010 at 7:27 am

LOVING the proccessed foods segment. people don’t realize how much crap is actually in them!

i hate the words nostrils and buttocks…they make me cringe for sure!

Eating Abroad July 29, 2010 at 7:46 am

Oh pretty please check out my recent post on growing your own sprouts at home. It is so simple and you can even choose your own storage container!

http://travelingtogether.wordpress.com/2010/07/23/how-to-sprout-seeds/

Hope it helps!

Courtney July 29, 2010 at 7:48 am

I actually like hubby, but I love “hubs.” :) I too hate the lids on sprouts. One reason I am healthy…I practice yoga.

lisaou11 July 29, 2010 at 7:49 am

you know how to rock a post without a camera. I am loving all the links and I can’t wait to check them out!

I am healthy because I am learning how to cook with and eat many more veggies that I actually ENJOY nowdays :).

Maren July 29, 2010 at 7:59 am

hahaha the sprouts comment was hilarious! I am healthy because I care about what I put in my body. I know that sometimes I need (or want) a Twix bar (like last night for instance)… but I am generally aware of what is going in my body and it has truly made. me. healthy. I used to seriously suffer from Acid Reflux disease and when my insurance stopped covering my meds, I had to go a different route. so I gave up beer and anything fried and stopped eating processed foods on a regular basis and POOF! it’s gone. No meds anymore! k off the soapbox..

The only word I hate is booger. ughhhh hearing that word literally makes me gag. It’s disgusting. I hate seeing them I hate hearing about them… I just can’t stand them!

I enjoyed your ramble!! :)

bubblegumgymkat July 29, 2010 at 9:01 am

Love those links to those blogs..def going to start following!!!

Jamie July 29, 2010 at 12:20 pm

I despise the word hubby too and it seems everyone on facebook uses it constantly! I don’t use it b/c well I don’t have a hubby but I hope you find a better word to use instead!

Mama Pea July 29, 2010 at 12:29 pm

I love the idea of the 100 days blog you posted about! My gosh, I don’t even think my family could do that though!

“’twas ____” drives me nuts. Who talks like that?!

I would read your blog every day even with NO pictures :)

luckytastebuds July 29, 2010 at 12:58 pm

Janetha darlin’, you always are able to turn a frown upside down, both for yourself and us, your readers. Love how positive you are my dear…you really truly are a role model. :)

Cringe words, like you SAMMIE. I think i almost hurled when I first saw it in blogland. No offense, but i was like…but but it’s a SANDWICH. Sammie = human. Or pet? hahah And another one would “gasmic”. ick. I think the worst thing would be when my dentist told me i needed a root canal thought today…THAT was probably the worst. :I

Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) July 29, 2010 at 1:04 pm

Hahaha…too funny about hating certain words. I’m right there with you on most of them, although I’ll admit to using the word “hubby” sometimes. :mrgreen:

Danica July 29, 2010 at 2:27 pm

I LOVE that Marshall cooked for you all….Jay needs to hang out with him more…they can make their two things together – Spaghetti and Taco Salad :D I am happy any time I don’t have to cook though….

That is a LOT of ice cream and I am totally jealous you can eat whatever, not workout and have it not show up at all :)

Love ya ~ xoxo!

Erica @ ericaunmasked.blogspot.com July 29, 2010 at 4:19 pm

Welcome back and congrats.
I love your I am healthy list. I am going to think of one. As for words that make me cringe – ‘mucus’. I hate that word. So much!

Amber July 29, 2010 at 5:21 pm

Hi Janetha! I’ve been reading your blog for a few days now, and I thought I should say hello and CONGRATS! I found your blog through Jenny at Closet365 (she’s so cute!). I just love your blog thus far. I’m starting the BFL challenge as soon as I run my half marathon, and I’m using you and Jenny as my inspiration – thanks for introducing me to it!!!

I love your I am healthy list! I’m going to write my own tonight. :)

Also, I cringe when I hear the word “retarded” – I grew up in a house where if we said that word, our mouths were washed out with soap (it’s not pleasant…).

Barbara July 29, 2010 at 8:08 pm

I absolutely love your ‘why I’m healthy’ list! It portrayed a strong, proud, confident, self assured woman! I think you inspired a lot of ladies with this! Being YOU and being proud of who you are!
Thanks!
Barbara

Stephanie@ avocado nation July 29, 2010 at 8:55 pm

I am healthy because I make sure to take some time everyday to just laugh. I am also healthy because I have given up so many of my disordered eating habits and have just decided to love myself right here and right now.

Lara (Thinspired) July 29, 2010 at 9:21 pm

I’m with you. I can’t STAND the word moist!

The 10-day challenge sounds really cool….and WHOA that’s a lot of ice cream leftover! What a shame! Don’t let me down Janetha, you can’t waste it! ;)

Bekah July 30, 2010 at 7:50 am

I saw about your camera on facebook Janetha.. ah, that sucks. Seriously, that is the worst! Even when like pictures get deleted accidentally on cameras and whatnot, that has got to be the worst feeling ever. But you and Marshall are alive and well, and that’s all that matters. Praying that it shows up though!

love you!

Lea @ Healthy Coconut July 30, 2010 at 8:36 am

Hi Janetha,

I’m a new reader and I’ve enjoyed perusing your blog.

“I am healthy because” I feel energetic throughout the day and I feel strong in my body. There are plenty more in my list but these are what comes to mind right away. Whenever people ask me “why do you eat so healthy?” these are some of the reasons I tell them.

Elina (Healthy and Sane) July 30, 2010 at 12:08 pm

Hey, sorry I’ve been MIA – just catching up now. Your camera is gone? OMG. At least not the DSLR. I would DIE. Good luck finding it – I’m crossing my fingers for you!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and of course, congrats on being a Mrs. ;) PS – I hate the word hubby too, I prefer hubs. Sounds edgier to me. lol
Thanks for all the links. I already love Melissa’s blog but can’t wait to check out the others.

J August 10, 2010 at 9:15 am

Thank you so much for the shout-out!! And for the heads up that “hubby” is annoying. :-) I don’t like to use my husband’s first name on my blog (it’s a privacy thing), so anyone have suggestions for what I should use instead? Maybe “hub-send” or “hubs” or “hubsinator”?

xoxo,
J.
