I couldn’t find a good photo that wasn’t a wedding shot so this is what you get. Hello.

  • my name: Jessie Scott
  • where i live:
  • my blog: I write Don’t Forget Dessert, which is a blog about my attempts at healthy living. There are a lot of successes and a lot of fails. I am a prime example of working full time at a desk job and trying to balance fun with being healthy. I don’t always associate the two in my mind. For example, a dinner a Five Guys with my husband can be really fun, and delicious, but rarely healthy. I am trying though, and sharing the journey with all of you.
  • my move: I make no bones about not liking to workout. So my favorite moves are moves that distract me from the fact that I am exercising. I have been trying out some circuit training in the morning before work, which I really like. But my favorite move lately has been my after work walks with my husband and dog. Piper is very high energy and she can definitely keep my moving. We like to walk the outer perimeter of our neighborhood. With this workout I am getting a light workout plus some quality time with my family!  None of the action shots worked out so I am providing a pre-walk shot

  • my meal: My go to meal lately has been anything taco salad-esque. I start with a base of green ( usually spinach, raw or wilted, or romaine lettuce) with brown rice, beans (usually kidney or black) with whatever toppings I have on hand. I am partial to salsa, diced jalapenos, and sour cream. Check them out.

Janeetha, I hope you have a great time in Jamaica. Thank you for the opportunity to share my fave meals and moves with your readers.

Oh…..Five Guys….we just discovered them. I save my “free day” for them. Just had their cheeseburger …no fries about two hours ago. As Rachel would say…YUMMO!!!

Hey Jessie…I can totally relate about balancing being healthy and a fun life. That’s what I’m working on as well. So funny you mention Five Guys because they are opening one right by me and I can’t wait to try it. If it’s open already I may take the plunge on Sunday, I’ve been craving a burger!

That’s great to combine exercise with familia time. Your taco salad looks really nommy.
