Welcome to the gun show everyone!! Kidding, kidding, totally kidding! At least not really on my blog anyway.


But since we are guesting over at JB’s today, perhaps you are in the right place after all!

  • my move: While I don’t quite have the killer muscle of Miss Meals and Moves, I have been working on incorporating quite a bit of strength and resistance training into my workout routine lately. However, if you are anything like me, sometimes weight lifting is just plain boring! I know that some of you ladies can pump it out like no other, but I enjoy a lot of exercises using my own body resistance, like pushups for example!

Pushups have always seemed like something that is too hard or too "tough" to accomplish, but after copping out with knee pushups for way too long, I discovered that I could do a few normal ones without to much extra exertion. A few pushups turned into 5, then 10 and my sister helped me discover a program online ( that helps the user train to get to 100PUSHUPS! Now, I honestly, don;t know if I will ever get to the 100, but I am currently at 21 max, which ain’t too shabby!


One of the reasons I love pushups so much is because they definitely work your arms, but also your back, shoulders and torso! This multi-tasking move definitely helps bust boredom on strength days by keeping things moving and getting my heart rate up to increase calorie burn. I would recommend mixing this move in with other body-resistance training like lunges, wall squats, triceps dips and ball crunches.

  • my meal: In order to fuel all the muscle I’m helping to tone, one of my most favorite things to eat is an original CCC, or Cottage Cheese Concoction! I talk about these quite a bit on my blog, and there are always new mixtures to experiment with. Always int eh mix:lowfat cottage cheese, cinnamon, SunCrystals (, and some sort of delcisou carby goodness–usually cereal, but soemtimes another sweet bread or muffin or oatmeal–and always topped off with fruit and nut butter.


Pictured clockwise, standard cereal trio of Quaker Oat Squares, Cinnamon Life, Crunchy Corn Bran and Fiber One with spicy mixed nuts; whipped cottage cheese with oatmeal, strawberry preserves, fresh berries, banana and Bee’s Knees honey peanut butter; whipped cottage cheese and pumpkin with Mighty Maple peanut butter over cereal; and then cottage cheese with PB2, April’s lowcarb sweet bread ( and banana. Yum!

There is nothing better or more versatile than a good CCC! In a couple of those pics above, the cottage cheese has been blended for a creamier texture, in case the chunkiness of cottage cheese skeevs you out. Trust me–it’s the perfect paring with anything you  can come up with! It also packs a big protein punch  (even more than my bulging biceps above;)  ) with 14 g of protein oer half cup serving. Add in a little nut butter for healthy fat and wholesome grains for fiber and staying power and I believe it is the perfect meal for any time of the day! Well, I bet it’s PARTY time for Janetha in her Jamaican getaway and I hope she’s having a blast! Gahhhh!! The wedding! Can you believe it? I am so freaking excited for her! Terri-Welcome to the blogging world! It depends on where you live, but I can find it at Whole Foods here. I know that my Smith’s carries some of the other varieties, too. xoxo

I LOVE that picture of you at the top. You need to have that as some icon or blog photo. I commend you for 21 pushups too! I tried that program and gave up after failing Week 3 for the fourth week in a row. Perhaps I need more CCC in my life ;)

I really need to try some whipped CC some time. I bet it’s Greek yogurts 2nd cousin. NOm.
