Hi ‘meals and moves’ readers!  I am so excited to be posting here while Janetha is on vacation.

  • my name: I am the blogger behind “Inside I’m still Dancing”, otherwise known as Ellie.
  • where i live: Scotland
  • my blog: “Inside I’m still Dancing”
  • my move: As the title of my blog suggests, I used to dance. Dancers are under-represented in the blog world, in my opinion- where are my ‘popping and locking’ friends?..

  • my meal: Anyway, onto what I know you are all here for. The food. I know Janetha recently tried this and LOVED it so I thought I would share my favourite breakfast (sorry- I went to school in the UK and, with a dad as an English teacher, cannot Americanise my spelling!)
  • Almond Butter and Jelly Oatmeal

    • 1/3 cup oats
    • ½ cup water
    • handful of blueberries
    • Fage 2% cherry twin pot
    • Almond butter

Cook oats and water for 1-2 mins- add blueberries and the yogurt part of the Fage twin pot. Top with the side of cherry gloop (what is this stuff called?!) and almond butter.

Next step: Put in the refrigerator overnight. The oats take on a rice pudding/gel-like consistency which is fun to eat, not to mention delicious. I have been eating my oats this way for years and it’s delicious. Not to mention perfect for rushed mornings when you need to grab something fast.

Or, if the thought of cold sticky oats repulses you how about some hot apple and cheddar oatmeal?

Just chop/microwave an apple for 1-2 minutes to soften, stir into cooked oats and add a handful of shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

    • What is your favourite kind of dancing to watch? I love break dancing and hip-hop.
    • What is the craziest oatmeal combination you have tried? I want to try turkey bacon and maple syrup.

Fun post! That first photo looks like a side-crow on speed! Cool!

Your PB&J oats look A.Maz.Ing. When I next make oats I’m totally doing this. It reminds me of my standard-every-day go-to smoothie= but with oats. NOM.

1. I love to watch swing dancing, or salsa or tango- really most couples dancing (except waltz)
2. Weirdest? I don’t think it’s weird, but I’ve done the savory oats with a poached egg & ham. (LOVE your apple & cheddar- living in the UK cheddar is almost as important to living as oxygen, right?)

Yup, Britain runs on cheddar cheese sandwiches and cups of tea. Hehe :)

You have reminded me that I still need to try apple and cheddar oatmeal!! I have old cheddar and apples in my fridge right this very second too. Also, I love your extra use of the letter “u” It’s how it should be spelled!!
