by Janetha on October 26, 2009

in meals

it has been a long day so i am going to pull a julie and do tonight’s post in the classic and simple yay/nay format!

nay: only getting 3.5 hours of sleep before the alarm clock went off this morning

side note.. ugh, why can’t mondays start with a yay? that was definitely the wrong way to start off my day! naaaay!

yay: wearing a flannel dress and leggings and slouch boots to work.. AKA wearing an outfit that is socially acceptable for the workplace yet feels 100% like i was wearing pajamas all day

nay: another monday morning meeting at the original pancake house.. another eggbeater scramble with dry wheat toast. typical.

10-26-09 003

nay: being too tired to function properly

yay: instead passing the time by exchanging emails with the lovely ladies i will be hanging with at the foodbuzz fest!

nay: being turbo busy at work all day and having no time to run to the store for any sort of lunch supplies

yay: having a selection of bars on hand to save the day when i got hungry!

10-26-09 005

nay: october almost being over.. where has the time gone?!

yay: i was excited to try this new to me flavor of luna!

10-26-09 006

nay: i didn’t like it.. and i just wished it was the toasted nuts & cranberry flavor the whole time..

10-26-09 008

yay: leaving work on time! right at 3:00 on. the. dot.

nay: forgetting to throw socks in my gym bag and having to make a stop at (the old) home before the gym

yay: 20 minutes of intervals on the stairmill. whew.

nay: having to clean up/change at the gym.. hate that.

yay: shopping with mi madre!

nay: not finding any jeans worth purchasing.. it was one of “those” days in the fitting rooms.. blah

yay: eating food because i was starvingggg!

nay: subway being the only acceptable food court option. hate subway.

 10-26-09 010

yay: dessert at cheesecake factory for my sister’s birthday!

10-26-09 017

nay: not ordering any dessert because i have been indulging way too much lately…

yay: birthday girl and her personalized plate!

10-26-09 022 10-26-09 023

nay: being way too tempted by marshall’s white chocolate raspberry cheesecake.. yep, two bites.

10-26-09 024

yay: more coffee!

10-26-09 021

nay: not having a coat and freezing my hiney off when walking back to my auto

yay: realizing that colder air=snow!! it is supposed to snow tomorrow.. YAY!

nay: realizing that i have two bedrooms right now with no bed set up in either of them.. fail.

yay: having a boyfriend’s house to sleep at as backup!

nay: the quality of this post.. sorry

yay: going to bed early and getting some sleep so i can be refreshed manana and type a legit post tomorrow night!

Qs~

1. one yay and one nay from your monday?

Whole Body Love October 26, 2009 at 10:19 pm

Deb (SmoothieGirlEatsToo) October 26, 2009 at 10:29 pm

Yay- wrote 3 posts today

Nay- didn’t train at all :-(

Don’t really get “winters” here to speak of…just a little rain from time to time. Hopefully this year I won’t be so cold if I can adopt a different breakfast routine (oats rather than smoothies! gasp)

Julia October 26, 2009 at 10:53 pm

I’ve gotta jump on this yay/nay bandwagon Love it!
Yay – getting to spend time with Tyler

Sounds like you had a great weekend!

Averie (LoveVeggiesAndYoga) October 26, 2009 at 11:00 pm

And I am such a coffee addict too that I love your cups of coffee.

My yay: pre writing lots of posts for the week or at least rough drafts b/c of all the recipes I post, I need to get it written down b4 I forget.

Nay: Didnt drive anywhere today. Stayed home all day. And cleaned up toys and kid mess.

runningaroundnormal October 27, 2009 at 4:29 am

Hehe – cute post!! Your sister is your twin, I swear!
Yay – got to see my puppy over lunch
Nay – didn’t get all the laundry done.

Lauren October 27, 2009 at 4:49 am

Awww, sorry your Monday didn’t start off so hot, but the flannel dress sounds super cute and comfy…at least that was a “yay!” :)

Mmm, I was just at the Cheesecake Factory but I TOTALLY indulged because it’s been ages since I’ve had any. So worth the indulgence too! The White Chocolate Raspberry is my all time favorite, but holy goodness, the Pumpkin Pecan is also to die for!

Hope today is full of “yays!”

Take care hun!

VeggieGirl October 27, 2009 at 5:16 am

1.) Nay = tons of schoolwork; yay = new episode of ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘Castle’ were on t.v.

2.) Dreading the snow!

Emily (The Experimentarian) October 27, 2009 at 5:58 am

yay-raking leaves
Nay-raking my WHOLE back yard and front yard. It’s much bigger than I realized :)

So jealous that you’re going to the foodbuzz festival. I thought about going, but it was back when I didn’t have so many friends that were going. You’re going to have such a blast!

Hopefully today if more yay-worthy for you, although I don’t think it snowed after all.

Abby October 27, 2009 at 6:13 am

Yay–pup’s birthday, so I made his day with a new stuffed Gator (it’s the little things on a Monday…)
Nay–super rainy and cold out, which leads me to your winter question:

Boo for cold weather. I’m always cold to begin with, so I thrive in the summer. I like our snow for the holidays, but the over 100 inches we had last year was a bit extreme. Oy…

Chai October 27, 2009 at 6:22 am

Nay – Having to return to work after a lovely weekend getaway.

Yay – Having more bday gifts waiting for me at my desk! :)

I am definitely NOT looking forward to winter. I hatehatehatehate snow!

Stacy (Eating To Live Love Laugh Tri) October 27, 2009 at 6:28 am

Seriously, when I grow up, I want to be cool like you! : )

julie October 27, 2009 at 7:00 am

nay: a car accident haha
yay: it’s not monday anymore!

UGH I HATE PB cookie flavor. I wish you talked to me before you ate it I would have ran to Utah and set it on fire before you ate it.

Susan October 27, 2009 at 7:05 am

Not a fan of the PB flavour either. It needed some extra PB slathered on top!

1. Yay: Applying for a Starbucks cafe manager position in a different city!!! (shh…it’s still a secret)
Nay: My boss scheduling me to cover a protest during what should have been my lunch break. Not only did I have to chase environmentalists through the woods, but I worked 10 hours straight with barely any time to eat.

2. I’m kinda dreading the snow this year because for the first time, I’m in a place where I’m responsible for shoveling my own driveway. I do however hope it gets cold enough for outdoor ice skating!

Emily (Healthy Fit Mama) October 27, 2009 at 7:10 am

1) Yay: getting some positive sounding news about a job I interviewed for last week.
Nay: being dead tired alllll day

2) I’m absolutely dreading winter. I don’t do anything in the snow. And I hate driving in it!

eatolive October 27, 2009 at 7:21 am

yay : finallllly figuring out a fabulous yet inexpensive birthday idea for my best friend!
nay: monday, nuff said! lol

Whit October 27, 2009 at 7:58 am

Therese October 27, 2009 at 8:09 am

1) Yay: Actually woke up and worked out on a Monday morning. Nay: Had to sacrifice an hour of sleep to workout on a Monday morning…

2) I’m ready for it to cool down in Florida already. It’s been in the upper 80’s all week!

I have a feeling it is only going to get harder to turn down sweets with the holidays coming up. I haven’t been doing the best job lately either, but time to tighten the reigns!

Naomi (onefitfoodie) October 27, 2009 at 8:37 am

LOVE it!

totally yay day when shopping is in store, but nay when you are having one of those ‘nothing fitting days” i seem to always get those

thanks for the review on the luna bar i was wonderinf about that flavor and just got a case in the mail, so i will hold off on that 1!

Yay: for getting out of work at 1 today.

Nay: I am extremely itchy dont know what its from and have a dr. appt after work :(

Steph October 27, 2009 at 8:42 am

I’m so jealous of your possible snow! Now that I’m in LA, I won’t get any :(

My Monday yay/nay

yay- My fiance worked out with me AGAIN this week!

nay- Co-workers not showing up for work when I’m running the shift :(

I’m totally looking forward to winter, even though I’m freezing all the time! I just love bundling up during the cold months and enjoying hot beverages by the fire :)

Graze With Me October 27, 2009 at 8:46 am

I like the yay/nay format. Easy, quick and fun to read too. Sorry about the blah bar – I’ve never been a fan of Lunas.

Yay – I finally baked something!
Nay – Arriving at work where the heat was shut down and it was 43 degrees. Inside.

I’m not a fan of winter. I never used to mind it until January 6, 2007 when I rolled my car after hitting a snow drift and black ice. I’m a total chicken on the road now and always pray for no snow.

inmytummy October 27, 2009 at 10:22 am

Yay – wearing a comfortable sweater dress.

Nay – several people in the office telling me that it’s way too big and I look like I’m wearing a potato sack.

april October 27, 2009 at 10:27 am

Im not a fan of luna bars ’cause they never taste how they say they do! Same with Cliff.. grr!!

Yay- going up in weights at body pump

Nay- being super bloaty all day!

Ildie October 27, 2009 at 10:30 am

yay – Had tasty pumpkin almond pancakes for dinner. MMMMM!

nay – I felt tired and lethargic all day. Didn’t get enough sleep the night before.

DREADING IT… I freak out when I have to drive in snow. I partially blame my insanity. However, I believe my piece of crap car has a lot to do with it. I do love Christmas though, which makes up for it! ;)

Lindsay October 27, 2009 at 10:33 am

My yay for Monday — leaving work on time!

I’m dreading winter! I had to scrape ice off my windows this morning and was not too happy about it!

Hallie October 27, 2009 at 11:09 am

I’m excited for winter but to be fair, I live in southern california so I don’t get “real” winter. Just slighty chilly days mixed in with some HOT days to make everyone else jealous.

Yay: Monday is over. One day closer to Friday.
Nay: I had to wake up really early for work, got a bad night sleep Sunday night, and when that happens I am Miss Munchy…it’s like I have to snack to keep myself awake!

Sarah October 27, 2009 at 11:32 am

nay: not sleeping a whole lot because I kept hearing noises and of course I became paranoid someone was trying to break in. ha

yay: fab dinner that I made out of the blue with what I had in the kitch (a la janetha)!

I am MOST excited for winter! But like Hallie said in her comment, I am from Cali, so winter is not so much winter–but I associate it with Christmas!!!

Holly October 27, 2009 at 12:06 pm

yay: eating amy’s curried lentil soup for lunch.

nay: everything else.

yeah, its that kind of day :)

Kailey (SnackFace) October 27, 2009 at 12:55 pm

I TOTES thought I commented on this last night! Whoops!

YAY for yesterday: bossy sweaty workout and delicioso food!
NAY for yesterday: getting 5.5 hours of sleep. Still not too bad… I try to forget the nays.

I’m excited for the holiday season, but not necessarily winter. Like, November thru Dec is my fave:
-Bday
-T-day
-Christmas month
-Christmas eve
-Christmas day
-New Year’s Eve

Doesn’t that sound like so much fun? K i’m hopped up on sinus meds right now, so sorry. Anyway, hope today is going swimmingly! Love you!!

lowandbhold October 27, 2009 at 12:56 pm

Sorry about the lack of sleep and not so fab day. I too hate Subway, and def would have had two + bites of cheesecake. Hell, I would have ordered cheesecake.

1. Yay: intense yoga class Nay: having to wait until 8:30 p.m. for dinner. I like to eat EARLY!
2. Pretty much dreading winter, I’m not a cold-weather lover. That’s why I schedule tropical vacays after the holidays :)

kristi (sweet cheeks) October 27, 2009 at 1:25 pm

Mmmmm it’s been way to long since I have indulged in some cheesecake!!

I adore snow…that is, IF school gets canceled because of it.

burpexcuzme October 27, 2009 at 1:44 pm

nay: I overslept and missed all my classes
yay: I said, “What the heck” and slept in till noon.
nay: aching headache when I finally got up. Too much sleep!
yay: caught up on all the lost sleep over the last few weeks

I HATE winter! Eeeewww…Thank god I am in LA. But I’m dreading going back home for winter break…
